First Grow - White Widow

Setting up the grow room, got my seeds all set for germination. I am germinating 5 seeds and my hope is to get 3 full plants by the end of this grow. It should be clear to anyone that watches this progress that I am learning as I go. My goal at the end of this is to have 3oz of dried bud between the 3 full plants. We will see what plants survive my general lack of knowledge. Day 1 - Placed seed to germinate in a jiffy pot, this one was a freebie thrown in with my other seeds. I debated planting it, but lack of judgement got the better of me. The seed came in a labelled vial without packaging, so no photo of the packaging. Day 6 - I was going to go to bed, but decided to check in on my plants to make sure the lights turned on. This pot seemed really dry so I got a liter of water to add to the pot. While watering I noticed this little girl had sprouted above soil for the first time. I now have 2 plants out of the 5 that I planted that have sprouted. Day 7 - She has gotten about twice the height she was yesterday. My temps today peaked at 27 degrees. Humidity right around 50.

Day 8 - Leaves are getting bigger and she continues to grow in height. Not much to report yet, though I am starting to consider naming the plants. Day 9 - Third set of leaves have started and she is getting taller yet again. She is my tallest plant thus far. Day 10 - A bit taller and a bit fatter. She is the tallest plant so far and the best looking of the bunch. Day 11 - Didn't grow much taller overnight, looks like she is starting to fatten up a bit. Decided to feed my ladies today, they each got their first drink of nutrients along with 500ml of water. Day 12 - I was worried when I watered her yesterday that I broke her. The water toppled her over, but I was able to proper her back up with a bit of pressure at the base. She looks no worse for wear today and has even grown a bit taller and has gotten some thicker leaves. She is my tallest plant thus far and is all legs underneath. I have decided to name her Keibler. Day 13 - Fan leaves now have 3 heads instead of one. Keibler had some rather dramatic growth overnight. She doesn't have any rust spots on her, but I didn't add any manure or extra perlite to her planter. I also used a dollar store 5 gallon planter for her. I didn't add these things because she was a freebie and I wasn't married to trying the strain. Now that I've done some reading, I am excited about having the strain to give as a gift. Day 14 - Keibler continues to impress. I will do an update of my height tonight on my girls before bed. She continues to get taller and wider every night. Likely the most dramatic change between the girls last night.

Day 15 - Keibler grew almost an inch overnight. Her leaves also continue to become more impressive every day. I did notice a rust spot on the bottom leaf, this was about the same time fram that they appeared on my Pineapple Express plant. I added some calcium and gave her some more water. Day 16 - The spot on her leaf is still there, and she is kinda droopy today. Keibler grew overnight but she looks off to me. I am getting concerned about my grow. Day 17 - She actually grew a bit, but she looks to be in bad health like the rest of them. Day 18 - Some fantastic growth overnight. She really opened up to. I misted Keibler with some water this morning and she perked up quite a bit. I will likely give her another mist before bed. Day 19 - Some growth underneath. Not much up top today to report. Her leaves are a bit bigger, that is all. Day 20 - I moved Keibler to the center of the pot today. I didn't water her last night because her bowl doesn't seem to breathe like the others. She is an odd looking plant, but she had some good growth overnight. I will continue to keep an eye on her. Day 21 - She seems to be doing a lot better. I moved her over in the pot a bit because she was too close to the side. I also punched some holes in the pot because it was a fabric pot I got at the dollar store. She has an odd look to her and has begun to smell.

Day 22 - She really is starting to put some distance between her nodes now. At 3 1/2 inches tall she is my largest plant height wise. She is looking much healthier now. Day 23 - Not much going on up top, mainly growing underneath now. I will top her either tomorrow or Wednesday. We will see how I'm feeling. Day 24 - She got a haircut today and I topped her as well. Also gave her some water. She is an odd looking lady right now. Day 25 - Is it possible that new shoots are developing on the topped area already? She had a good night, Her growth underneath will hopefully speed up now that she has been bent over. Day 26 - She is starting to have quite a bend to her. I tightened the LST on her today so hopefully she continues to have that. I'm thrilled with her progress compared to a week ago when I thought she was going to die. She appears to have 4 new nodes up top, but that could just be my poor eyesight. Day 27 - In a rush today, won't be much of an update. Just a picture

Day 30 - Progress over the past 48 hours has been stunning. She is looking good underneath and it looks like the topping has worked. Still a ways to go before I flip her. Day 31 - Forgot to update today, but I did take a picture Day 32 - I did some more LST today, I want to spread her out a bit. She is growing quite well now. Day 33 - I trimmed her today. Hopefully that will assist with some of the growth underneath as the large fan leaves were blocking the light. Day 34 - She is a really oddly shaped plant. All the growth underneath the main canopy is small short branches. The defoliation appears to have helped. Day 35 - LST and topped for a 2nd time today. She is really sitting in the pot awkwardly and it is bothering me. Trying to bring those branches underneath lower in the pot so they can take up more space. Hopefully she can come into shape over the next week.

Day 36 - The LST yesterday really helped. She is starting to fill out more of the planter and that is what I want. Her growth was rather uneven up until now and she looked really odd in the tent. She has new growth starting where I topped her. Her soil is much wetter than the others so I will likely move her to an alternate feeding schedule. This will be my last week of veg for the girls before slipping to 12/12. Day 38 - Sorry for the lack of update yesterday, I snapped a picture but got distracted with life. This plan surprises me every day now. She is growing at a great pace and looks fantastic. I feel like she is likely ready to be flipped to 12/12 already, but I'll keep doing some minor LST to her for the rest of the week. Day 39- Her bottom is filling out a bit more, that is what I want prior to flipping her. So I am very happy. Day 40/41/42 - The new tops have come in, and she has grown

Day 43 - Flipped to 12/12 and gave her some food. She has some light nute burn on the tips and I broke one of her main branches today by accident. I taped her up for now and I will see if it dies or not. Day 44 - The branch is still alive and that makes me happy. I will keep monitoring it, but I was really nervous that I had killed a main branch off. Did some trimming on her today to give some more access to the bottom leaves. Day 45/46 - What the hell happened. She has become an unruly lady all of a sudden. I had to give her a trim and try to move some branches around. Day 47 - Did some LST today and trimmed a couple more leaves. She has started to stretch for sure and is showing some pistols in spots already. Day 48 - Bigger and badder than ever. She is stretching like crazy and has flowers started on every branch.

Day 50 - Trimmed her up today, opened her up as well. The stretch has really given me a good amount of distance between nodes now. Should be fairly smooth sailing from hither. Day 51 - She had some badly needed water today and I trimmed about 4 leaves. Her flowering sites are becoming more pronounced and I'm looking forward to seeing her progression over the course of this week. Day 52 - Looking good. She is spread out nicely and everything right now appears to be getting some sun. The flower sites are becoming obvious Day 53 - Just took her out for a photo today. Day 54 - Just a photo today as well. The flowers are fairly distinct now, and there are many starting under the canopy. Day 55 - Growing every day. Day 56 - Fed with water and KoolBloom today. I am really shocked at the number of bud sites on this girl. She looks like she is an early favourite to be my largest yielding plant. Not bad for a freebie seed.

Day 57 - I counted over 30 different distinct budding sites on her today. I really think this girl is going to need some special attention over the next few weeks. Really looking good, but needs to space out a bit. Day 58 - Took a photo today, and looked at all the different nodes. Everything is looking good so far. Lots of bud tops, so that makes me happy. Day 59 - Some food for her today. I did some minor LST to move 2 branches about an inch each to give some light to smaller nodes underneath. Day 60 - Buds are getting bigger, and secondary nodes are starting to really show. Day 61 - The most tops of all my plants by a large margin. Will be interesting to see how she develops over the next 2 weeks. Day 62 - She is a bushy plant. Tons of bud sites up top and under the canopy. I think she is going to be a good yielding plant. Day 63 - Growing everywhere, got some nutes and a feed today. Tucked a few leaves to expose some tops.

Day 64 - I might have to take some time with her later today to do some LST. The leaves are starting to block some of the nodes. Overall, she has the most bud sites of the girls and is the 2nd tallest. She might be my highest yielding plant, but looks can be deceiving. Day 65 - She is doing well. Not much to complain or get excited over yet. Her flowers are getting bigger and she seems happy. Day 66 - She is beefing up a bit. Still not a very strong smell coming from her. Day 67 - Lots of rust spots on her and some leaves looking terrible. I am thinking it is because of salt buildup in the root zone. I'll be flushing her today. Day 68 - Flushed her yesterday and removed some foliage to clean her up. Runoff was testing at a low PH, so I flushed her until it came up to 6.5. Now I wait to see if it helped. Day 69 - Discolouration continues, might be a nitrogen deficiency. I'm going to let her roots dry a bit and go back to the grow nutrients for a feed. Day 70 - Running into some issues at this point. I am guessing it has everything to do with the planter she is in. I'm going to try to re-home her to a new planter today.

Day 71 - She is running into some issues. I moved her into a new planter yesterday because the old one wasn't breathing and looked to be forming mold on the bottom. I am going to let her soil dry out and then give her PH'd water until runoff. Day 72 - She is looking a bit healthier today. More browning and yellowing, but under the canopy she is looking much better. Leaves aren't drooping and her green is more vibrant than before. I will continue to see how she does going forward. Day 73 - Bud growth seems to have returned, so that makes me happy. While some of her leaves look bad, I think she is turning the corner and making a comeback. Day 74 - Not much to report today. Just a picture and back into the tent. Day 75/76 - This plant is starting to show necrosis on the lower nodes now. Gave her a feed today so I hope that helps. Day 77 - Continuing to look bad, but she is starting to produce bud again. I am hoping that she turns a corner soon.

Day 78 - I think she is getting better. The death spiral seems to have topped. I want to see what she does over the next few weeks until harvest. Day 79 - Bud sites are starting to build some growth momentum. Very happy, and I hope she continues to improve. Day 80-83 - Been busy this week, but she is growing again. She has the most bud sites of the plants, but the least amount of bud. I'm hoping that she has a growth spirt this week, as it looks like she was affected by poor health. She has a lot orown hair on her buds, but i'm seeing new pistol growth. Some of her bud sites in the middle of the plant have grown into a respectable size. Day 84-85 - Not much to report, just took her out for a few minutes to snap some photos.

Day 86 - Buds are much fatter, but not much taller than last week. I think the mold that was forming on the bottom of the planter caused a lot of issues for her. A real shame to because I had high hopes for yield. Thankfully, I'm not one to smoke much, so whatever I get will be plenty. Trichomes are still mainly clear, so she still has some time to add growth. Day 87/88 - She is growing still, so that makes me happy. Still clear trichomes so I hope she keeps going for a few more days. Day 89 - She is adding weight for sure now. The tops aren't getting much bigger, but under that canopy she is adding some buds. Hopefully I can get a good result from her despite the troubles. Day 90 - Did some defoliation last night.

Day 92 - Notice a bit of difference in size with her today. She seems to be responding well to the trim. Still all clear with the trichomes, so I will assume she has at least a week left. Day 93 - She seems to be coming along nicely now. I can see that she is developing bud still so that excites me. Day 94 & 95 - A little water yesterday. Not much else to report. Still chugging along. Day 96 - She still seems to be putting on weight. Majority of trichomes are still clear. So I'll keep feeding her and monitoring her progress. Day 97 - I was harvesting plants so I ignored this girl quite a bit today.

Day 99 - Almost ready to come down. Could be as early as tomorrow. Final days - I did nothing but water her this week. Just waited until I had some time to give her the chop.

Finally took her down, was very surprised with the amount of bud on this girl given her problems throughout the flowering stage. I hate to think of what could have been had she stayed healthy. Some nice buds on her, and I ended up cutting up a lot of the popcorn buds for my scratch bag that I'll use to make hash in a few days time. Impressed with this girl and very happy with the results. I should be over 5oz total for this grow and that is an awesome harvest considering my goal was 3. I'll be starting a new grow soon, but only updating once a week instead of daily.
