I thought I posted this strain already but I guess not. Here I introduce to you Hawaiian Grasshopper Genetics - Hawaiian Grapefruit. I popped over 10 beans and was left with 4 from the pickings earlier this year. These 4 we're chosen because they were female LoL. They are definitely vertical growing type plants so I topped the larger ones in the back. The one in the left corner was pretty yellow before the transplant, this is her 3 weeks after transplant. I do have photos as well on my IG page.
Laid out the trellis this week to spread out the larger plants to give the shorter ones a chance to catch up. I took more clones this week of each plant but the smaller one and did a heavy defoliation. I will do another before flipping and taking clones. They are drinking every other 2 days and I am giving about half gallon each every other day to keep the top soil moist. Other than busy work before flower, the plants have exploded at this stage. I fear I over vegged for my space.
These bad girls have all been smelling like grapefruits in veg and now after one week they are only getting stronger. It's insane how genetics can Express similar terpenes as other plants and fruits. They have super large leaves and the stacking seems to be fairly close which is good for tight buds that will be large.
The pictures won't do this strain justice. I have 4 in the tent and 2 are okay but the other two are just like the GeeChee but tighter stacking. The terps are the strongest in the tent with heavier trichome production compared to the other strains. Its still to early to vote on a winning genotype but I am definitely watching this one .
Busy week with family. Not much was done but a few big leaves needed to be removed. Other than that we are easy sailing and none of these are having any issues I can see.
The size of these colas are very impressive. The four plants of the Grapefruit have very similar looks and smells which means the breeder really did a great job hunting and stabilize the cultivator. They are giving off some insane grapefruit smells now
The plants are given just plain water from now on. I am letting the soil and worms finish off the rest of the grow. I can start to see some good fading going on too with all the plants which is a good sign we are on track
Just watering when they need it. So far the heat hasn't been too bad but it has been hectic with the humidity for sure. They seem to do fine regardless of the shape some are in, we will see how they finish up in the coming weeks
They are definitely a 8-9 week cultivar. Giant nugs all around and have the best citrus terps I have ever smelled. With this one being an f2 there was so many similarities between all 4 plants
