Patagoniaweed Sunday 27/3: Germinated at night. Tuesday 29/3: The germination was OK. Wednesday 30/3: Transferred the seed to the substrate. Mistake: I made a substrate with 1 part perlite, 1 part vermiculite, 3 parts peat, and a tablespoon of worm compost. At that moment, I didn't realize because I was short on time to check the pH. Thursday 31/3: Starts to come out of the soil and I put it under the light in veg mode. Saturday 2/4: 2 cotyledons out + 2 leaves. I notice that the timer isn't working, so the plant was left under 24 hours of light for 2 days. I fix the timer.

Patagoniaweed Wednesday 6/4: The plant is still the same as since last Saturday (two cotyledons + two leaves). The two leaves are starting to show burn marks on the tips and are curling a bit, but during the previous days, it was absorbing light very well.. Anyway, there were no advancements. Therefore, I was able to take a little more time and measure the pH of the substrate, which turned out to be extremely low (below 5). The plant wasn't absorbing nutrients.. it was frozen.. so I corrected it with water and baking soda (it was what I had on hand) and brought it to pH 6.1 and 270 ppm. From there, I started to see improvements in growth.

Drainage water data > pH: 5.8; Dissolved solids: 635 ppm. Wednesday 4/27: Watering: 1 liter of water with 5 ml of Miracle. Watering data > pH: 5.7; Dissolved solids: 118 ppm. Drainage water data > pH: 5.7; Dissolved solids: 270 ppm. Due to the low dissolved solids in the drainage water, I decided to collect 300 ml of the drainage water and add 1.5 of Budha and 1.5 of Devil Juice, resulting in a concentration of 680 ppm. With this water, I watered the plant again, finishing the absorption completely. Thursday 4/28: I applied apical cut.

Patagoniaweed Sunday 1/5: Watering: 1 liter of water with 10 ml of Devil Juice and 10 ml of Budha. Watering data > pH: 6.3; Dissolved solids: 550 ppm. (The dissolved solids data is not reliable since I added double the concentration of what I had been adding, so the ppm cannot be less (I had been measuring around 650). There may be an error in the reading, and it was 1550 or something similar. Drainage water data > pH: 5.7; Dissolved solids: 728 ppm. Thursday 5/5: Watering: 1 liter of water with 5 ml of Miracle. Watering data > pH: 6.4; Dissolved solids: 122 ppm. I do the first watering with 500 ml, obtaining the following drainage water data: pH: 6.0; Dissolved solids: 187 ppm. Therefore, I add to the remaining 500 ml 5 ml of Devil Juice and 5 ml of Budha (pH 6.5 and solids 653 ppm). With this water, I finish watering. When I'm cleaning the pH meter, I notice irregularity in the measurement of the distilled water, so I proceed to do a verification with buffer 4.1 (I didn't have buffer 7) and notice a shift of 0.3 points in the measurement, so it is possible that the pH of the drainage water is at 5.7 (as it had been in previous measurements).

Patagoniaweed During the last week, I see how the plant starts to show a nutrient deficiency. The leaves at the bottom are starting to turn pale until they fall off. Brown spots are also observed on the leaves. I still don't know the causes as of Monday 9/5. Monday 9/5: Watering 1 liter of water with 5 ml of Miracle, 10 ml of Devil Juice, and 10 ml of Budha. I add Hummus to the substrate. Watering data > pH: 7.3; Dissolved solids: 830 ppm. Drainage water data > pH: 5.7; Dissolved solids: 700 ppm. I'm starting to notice that the pH doesn't move from 5.7 no matter how much I water with different pH levels: I do flushes with water at pH 9.4 with no success. Friday 13/5: The nutrient deficiency increased (you can see it in the photos from 12/5). I'm starting to analyze the possible causes, coming up with two reasons: 1/ the low pH causes a blockage of N2. 2/ the last waterings (in the last few weeks) were done with the drainage water from the vaporizer, which may result in a lack of Mg (present in tap water). Watering: 1 liter of water with 5 ml of Miracle, 10 ml of Devil Juice, and 10 ml of Budha. I add 5 ml of Monster (source of N2) and spray the leaves with a spray of 5 ml/500 ml of Sea Magic (metabolizer source of nutrients, including Mg) over the next few days. Drainage water data > pH: 6.2; Dissolved solids: 1033 ppm (after several flushes).

Patagoniaweed I think the situation is starting to improve (although the affected leaves keep falling). However, I need to solve the pH issue since I'm about to switch to flowering (21/5). Monday 16/5: Watering 1 liter of water with 5 ml of Miracle, 5 ml of Devil Juice, and 5 ml of Budha. Watering data > pH: 7.5; Dissolved solids: 742 ppm. Drainage water data > pH: 6.1; Dissolved solids: 440 ppm. I got these results after doing several flushes with water since the drainage water kept giving me 5.7 (with pH up to 10!). Wednesday 18/5: I add hummus (a lot more than I was adding, until I filled the pot. The hummus has pH 6.2 to 6.7). I add 5 ml of Vamp Saponita, which is a volcanic mix, pH and EC regulator with Calcium (raises pH) and Mg. I add it to the substrate on top and spray the soil with water. I also add 0.1 g of Mycorrhizae and Trichoderma. Thursday 19/5: Watering 1 liter of water with 5 ml of Miracle, 10 ml of Devil Juice, and 10 ml of Budha. Watering data > pH: 7.0; Dissolved solids: 687 ppm. Drainage water data > pH: 5.7; No luck, I can't move the pH. Therefore, I add 500 ml of water with 5 ml more of Vamp (pH 9.7); water and again the pH gives me 5.7... So, I add a drop of pH up to the drainage water and let it sit for over an hour to exchange with the substrate. I measure and get pH: 6.6; Dissolved solids: 821. I take the opportunity to do some Lollipopping. Saturday 21/5: Plant status: looks very good. I think the nutritional problem has been solved. I believe it was the lack of Mg more than a blockage due to pH. I switch the period to 12/12.
