909grower Seeds have been germinated about 3-4 weeks ago now, on April 12th and have been outdoors in a dome only a few days after germination. Gave them compost tea this week. 909grower Starting to look like plants instead of seedlings.. I'll probably have them in the ground by next week, but waiting for them to fully take over the pots that they're in now. Foliar sprayed them with Beauveria Bassiana and Neem this week as a pest prevention measure. The white powder on the leaves are the remains of some diatomaceous earth I sprinkled them with because I noticed some leaf damage, probably snails.

909grower Transplanted the plants to their final spot, in a raised bed over a clay soil. Used some mycorrhizae on the transplant and added a bit of fertilised soil around and on top. The Grateful Dead Diesel is the most vigorous so far, but the plants are more or less growing at the same rate.

909grower Plants are getting used to their new home and seem happy. Foliar sprayed with some neem oil/blood meal.

909grower A lot of growth this week, even after I've topped and defoliated the plants (about 4 days prior to the picture). Did a few different foliar sprays using neem, aloe vera, algae extract and beauveria bassiana. Plants look great to me, impressed by the thickness of the stems on these still small plants.

909grower Another week of good growth, didn't do a lot except from a foliar spray using fish mix, aloe vera, algae extract and beauveria bassiana. The ladies are getting ready to explode in size!

909grower It's been a hot week with day temps over 35 degrees, the plants are coping fine but it probably halts their growth slightly. I've defoliated quite a bit halfway this week, to allow light to hit the lower nodes to stimulate them to come up. It's hardly noticeable that I've touched them after a few days though :)

909grower Another week of good growth. I've defoliated quite a bit to enhance light penetration and took away some lower branches in order not to waste energy on branches that were not going to be in a good position come flower. The plants recovered straight away. Added al touch of Greenhouse Feeding dry amendment mix, just to make sure there is enough food for the last weeks of vegetation. I have Blumat drip system installed since a few weeks back, 1 carrot per plant. Seems to work just fine!

909grower Did more defoliation and taking away off small shoots on the inside of the plants this week, and did a foliar spray with some, fish, cold pressed sea weed and humic acids. They've grown up to the scrog net that I've put between arcs made from old tent poles. Most plants start to flower beginning to mid August here, so there is a lot of veg time left. I'm probably going to be topping the tallest branches in the coming week, to even out the canopy a bit more and then start to weave branches through the net to optimise sun exposure.

909grower Topped some of the highest branches this week and did usual maintenance like cutting off branches that are too low and taking away leaves that block a lot of light for the lowers. Also did a foliar with fish, seaweed, beauveria bassiana and humic acids. I wonder if the Beauveria Bassiana will do anything to mitigate my usual caterpillar problem during flower. I was hoping to be able to cover all the plants after the stretch phase a few weeks in to flower to stop the butterflies and moths from laying eggs in the young buds, but I'm afraid the plants are going to grow too big! We're going to find out soon enough..

909grower Just water through the drip irrigation this week. I've started spreading out branches that have grown up to the screen to fill up all the space evenly and to try avoid the plants taking away each other's light. They are growing big and fast now, no idea where this is heading!

909grower Did one foliar spray this week, with the same goodies I've been using so far, pressed sea weed, beauveria bassiana, humic acid, fish mix and neem oil. I've been distributing branches through the net to optimise sun exposure and cutting away a lot of the lower stuff and smaller stuff inside the plant, that is not going to make it to a good position in the sun. . White hairs are popping up here and there, so it's likely this will count as the last week of vegetation. The trickiest part of growing in this area is avoiding the buds being eaten by caterpillars. Hopefully by next week I will have covered the whole bed with an anti insect net to try to prevent butterflies and moths deposit their eggs inside the young buds. growth report in veg - O n M, grows fast and bushy. I have a very thin leaved pheno. It's probably the biggest plant out of these four when it comes to leaf surface area. - SJC, very nice structured plant, even (medium) leaf size, grows how I like it to grow without any training, it just fills up any spot where there's light available. - GDD, Stalky plant that want's to grow up rather than branch out. Not very many side branches, thick stems, HUGE leaves. Beautiful and sturdy plants, but less bud sites. - SSSSC, The tallest one out of these four, grows up a lot but also branches out well. Medium and big leaves.

909grower I thought there would have been more signs of flower by this time, since I started to spot white hairs on some of the plants in my garden. Those flowering plants are all on the west side of the bed though, which means they receive less light in the morning, so they sense less light hours which triggered them to flower little earlier than the rest. The Connoisseur genetics are on the other side of the bed and still not in flower, so this week definitely counts as the vegetation stage. I've put a greenhouse structure around the bed of plants which I'm going to cover with an insect net this week, to protect against butterflies and moths depositing eggs in the young flowers, which would result in caterpillars eating up buds from the inside. Not sure if the structure is going to be high enough though, I might need to raise it. To help my chances, I've topped the highest tops of the SSSSC this week to keep the plants a little shorter.

909grower So, I've put an insect net over the plants this week, to try prevent butterflies and moths coming in and causing a caterpillar problem. I'm calling this the first week of flower, although not all four of them show signs of flowering just yet, but most do and some of the other strains in my garden as well, so I don't think we're far off. I've been cutting back the highest tops until now, to keep the plants a bit lower so they won't reach into the net.. pretty sure some are still going to grow all the way up there, but we'll know soon enough..

909grower Another hot and sunny week. No special treatment for the plants this week, just regular water from the Blumat drippers. The SSSSC is stretching quite a bit now. The GDD is also clearly flowering, but the other two seem not so sure yet.. Maybe next week..

909grower SSSSC is stretching and reaching for the sky (and my insect net.) GDD is showing lots of white hairs as well since about a week. The SJC and especially the OnM are quite late flowering. OnM has only just started to show the first signs (aug 21st).

909grower Great development on the flowers last week, the SSSSC is the furthest ahead and the OnM is still at a very early stage. GDD looks like it's going to form some big nugs separated from each other, where the SSSSC has large colas. SJC is yellowing a bit so might be in need of some food which I'll add this week.

909grower SSSSC is the furthest along and spreading a wonderful smell of tropical fruit with some spiciness to it. GDD starting to smell nice as well but I don't know how to describe it yet. OnM is still a little shy but the young flowers that is has already have a fresh citrus smell to them. All the flowers are looking clean as can be. Can't be more satisfied with the insect net, which is stopping all kinds of damaging insects but above all the caterpillar eggs from being laid.

909grower SSSSC and GDD buds fattening up fast and forming nice colas. The other two are a bit behind but growing nice bud as well. SJC seems a little deficient in nitrogen, will slowly feed it some.. Some goodies this week: irrigated them with fungal dominant compost tea made from local forest soil, and some home made fermented fruit juice (FFJ) as well.

909grower Top dressed some bat guano at the plants who seemed to be needing some extra food. Also introduced some predator mites this week to keep spider mites under control. Some plants have quite a population going. It hasn't been a problem in previous seasons, but maybe because I've put the insect net (against caterpillars) I'm hindering access to the plants for some natural predators? Not sure.. They had some good rain this weekend and now we're back to sunny weather so all looks great :)

909grower Great bud and trichome development this week. The SSSSC is towering over everything else and spreading strong smells of tropic fruits and strawberry. The Orange and Mango is smelling like an orange tree :) The SJC hasn't impressed as of smell s o far.. Not much at all (yet?) The GDD is a very pretty looking plant I think, and has nice fat nuggs. Has a complex smell I don't know how to describe well.

909grower Some rainstorms this week, but everything survived just fine, sunny weather now so great for ripening these up! A little disappointed that in spite of the insect net I still removed probably well over 200 caterpillars this week. Not too much damage though, and still a lot better than previous years without the net. I'm going to have to take some extra measures next year, already got some good tips on that here ;) I'm watching the SSSSC and GDD closely now for a harvest window. Most trichomes are already white, but I think there's a bit more growth in them and I want to give them all the time they need. I guess at least a week, but maybe more.. The SJC and OnM are a little bit further away from the chop, still.

909grower They're all still here and have been enjoying some autumn sun this week. After last weeks rainstorms I found some moulded spots on the GDD, on places caterpillars had done damage before. I removed those and everything dried up fine. Had to throw away one complete cola though. Still picking off caterpillars, but the infestation seems to have calmed down a bit. The SSSSC is starting to look near ready to me.. smelling of mangoes now :) But probably at least a week more, let's see..

909grower Harvested the SSSSC a few days ago. I will add harvest reports when I have the dry weight and smoked it for a bit. I'm going to harvest the GDD today, although it could probably take another week or so. I've found some rot in the fat tight buds that she has, so I'd rather take it now since it's quite ripe already. Lovely lemon smells as well and on its peak stink so far. The SJC looks completely ready to me as a plant but looking at the trichomes I think I want to give it some more time. It has small buds which have no mould issues. OnM is soo orangey! But has got some time to go still, luckily this fall has been extraordinarily warm and dry so far.

909grower Took down the Strawberry Jones Cookies a few days ago. The only one left now is the Orange and Mango, of which I checked the trichomes today and it really needs a bit more time still. Lucky me this autumn has been amazing. That plant has been out there for over 6 months now! Will do harvest report after everything has been dried, trimmed, weighed, and smoked :)

909grower Took down the last plant in my garden, which was the OnM. Will post harvest results soon.

909grower Good strain, but I need to try again. It smelled amazing on the plant, but I might have taken her a bit too long maybe. Flowers are very fluffy. It smells of strawberries when I open the jar, but it's not as sweet and tropical as when it was still growing. The smoke is ok, effect quite instant and hard hitting. Will plant some more of these beans to see how other phenos turn out. Dry weights: 270 grams trimmed flower and 125 grams of smaller stuff that will go into the hash bin

909grower Nice strain! Grew beautifully with nice chunky nuggs. Very much fuel smelling, quite sharp. My fav strain of these 4 Connoisseur Genetics that I've tried this year. Dry weights: 325 grams of trimmed bud and 47 grams of small stuff that will be used for hash.

909grower Not too impressed by this one.. I would try again because the plant was very easy to grow and the buds were very nice looking, compact and hard. The weed smells a bit weird, reminds me a bit of fenugreek or spices like it. Not really a pleasant smell. Grinding the buds up reveals some more minty and fruity smells that do translate somewhat to the smoke. Effect is not too overwhelming and nice. I think I had a weird pheno, it deserves a second chance. Dry weights: 214 grams trimmed bud, 120 grams small stuff that'll go to extraction
