Update: All 3 seeds broke ground on May 20. Ready to see these babies grow big and beautiful. Germ Day 1: Today I decided to plant 3 Fast Buds Afghan Kush Auto. I mixed the Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 with a couple tbsp of mychorrizae and crushed egg shells into 5 gal of sunshine #4 which is predominantly a peat based media. I watered around the seed thoroughly. I am using the sponsored Vipar Spectra XS2000 and think it will be awesome for these auto flowers. It’s a super strong light with an awesome spectrum. I have it set at 30% at 34”. I’m excited to see how this combo works. I’ve seen great things from each part and looking forward to a great result together. Happy Growing 🌱

Day 1 Veg All 3 Fast Buds Afghan Kush Auto seeds popped and are looking good. I chose this strain because it’s fast, an 8 week autoflower. This will allow me to dry during the hottest part of the summer. I chose this strain because I think it’ll give me a good heavy indica in my availability. My wife loves it too. The Vipar Spectra XS2000 is set at 36” at 40% ish. I’ll be adjusting it as I see fit for the plants as they are indica dominant, they may need less light. This light preformed well with the GHS Super Lemon Haze Photos I did last round. Excited to see how they produce with an autoflower. I’d like to thank FastBuds and Vipar spectra for providing the seeds and the XS2000 for me to review. Happy Growing 🌱

Day 7: Well these little girls are on their way to being big bud producing beauties. So far I’m enjoying the ease of the Gaia Green. Just roughly ph water and pour in. We’ll see how the end result turns out. They’re just taking their first steps so not much to say at this point. I’ve got the Vipar Spectra XS2000 at the suggested height and will be adjusting the height according to what I think the plants wanting. I’ve got the light on 20/4 for right now to keep tent temps a bit more even. I’ll drop it to 18/6 later on once they’re more established. Happy Growing 🌱

Day 14: These little plants are just truckin along. They’re looking good. They seem a bit small, but are indica dominant so idk yet. I’m heading out of town for a couple days so they’ll get a heavy water and be left on cruise til I’m home. The Fast Buds from last round are curing up nicely and so powerful in potency and aroma. I’m pumped to see how these turn out. The XS2000 is providing a perfect amount of heat at 75% that it just takes a light misting to have these little plants right in the sweet spot for temps and humidity. I’ve said this a bunch, this is a powerful light so I have it set a bit higher than recommended but I want room for them to grow up into without stress. I’d rather have a bit of stretch to contend with rather than light stress. I’m excited to see how they look when I’m home. Hopefully quite a bit bigger!! Happy Growing 🌱

Day 28: I got home from 10 days of holidays and these girls had cruised along as if I had been there with them the whole time. They are very happy, especially the middle one. The small one on the right has always been small, is what it is. She could be a stack little shorty. Time will tell. I did a feed today, top dressed according to Gaia Green at 15 ml/ gal of media which should last approx 2 weeks. I also added a bit more 444 just to make sure there’s enough N during this stretch phase. All 3 have pistols showing and are starting to flower. I was unable to train as much as I’d have liked but is what it is. Sometimes the more indica strains I’ve done are negatively effected by topping and excess training. I removed a couple huge fans that were shading too much of the plant. I also am trying a “super cropping” of top fans to get them out of the way but still save them as a nute source if they need. We’ll see how it goes. The Vipar spectra xs2000 is killling it as usual. As I’ve said 50 times it’s super powerful and I’ve had to raise the light above recommended height as I started to see leaf edge curl and light stress. No problem at all tho, better too powerful and raise it than too weak and have loose buds. I did a micro top just to stop excessive apical meristem stretch and leaving all the other lower branches too low for effective light absorption or burn on the top cola. Happy Growing 🌱

Day 35: These girls are growing well and starting to smell. There is 3 totally different phenos going on here, kinda like a Goldilocks situation. One short and stout, one tall and lanky with large internodal spaces and one that’s stacked and bushy. I added a trellis net to open the canopy up and removed about 20 leaves in total that we’re blocking bud sites. The Gaia green is super easy to use and the plants seems to be liking it a lot. I can see myself using this for a while. Just pour water in. Done. The Vipar spectra xs2000 is doing great, not throwing off too much heat as summer gets in full swing. The plants look healthy and happy so there’s not much more I can ask for. Other than that we’ll just keep an eye on them and see how they turn out. Happy Growing 🌱 Happy Growing 🌱

Week 3: Things are going well, tho there is a Leaf condition going on here. I have sprayed with a cal mag solution and added a bit of pk booster to hopefully rectify this problem soon. Other than that everything is going well. The XS2000 is doing a great job as it did last round. Happy Growing 🌱

Hey Growers This has been a pretty easy week. All I did was water with a bit of cal mag and bit of bloom booster to see if that would help this leaf condition that’s going on. I checked the soil ph with a probe and it’s between 6-6.5 so idk exactly what’s going on. The plants seem to be getting bigger and the buds are growing. Probably not as quickly as the could if they were perfectly healthy but idk what to do. So I’m just gonna keep on rolling along. I’ll make every attempt I can think of to fix it but it’ll be what it is. There’s lots of leaves to remove so I’ll let her cannibalize what she needs and hopefully make it to the end strongly with dense buds. They are starting to smell very strongly of earthy Kush with some light fruity notes. The XS2000 is running well and cool, not fighting my a/c too much which is nice on my hydro bill. No complaints there. Happy Growing 🌱

Hey Growers. These FastBuds Afghan Kush are coming along nicely. These girls are in their final week/s. I’m just watering and watching trichomes. I removed a bunch of leaves especially the damaged ones and the buds bulked up immediately and the frost poured on. The trichomes are bulbous and granular, they’re so big. The buds aren’t massive, but they are firm. I think that may be because of the XS2000. They are quite similar to the super lemon haze from last run. I’m totally fine with a bunch of buds the size and firmness of golf balls!! A bit more time and I’ll chop them down. Happy Growing 🌱

Well, we’re done another round of growing. The Vipar Spectra XS 2000 is shut down and these Afghan Kush auto from Fast Buds are sitting in the dark waiting to be chopped. Let the post growth stages begin. I definitely have a Goldilocks situation going on. One short stacked and loaded with grainy trichomes. One tall skinnier plant with nice trichome coverage and one mid sized with smaller and less dense trichomes. They all have a nice fruity hash scent. It’s very nice. As they have ripened and flushed the smell is getting more intense. They have only received water for the last few weeks. I am looking forward to to the dry and cure. I know this will be a great late summer fishing and bonfire kind of smoke. Happy Growing 🌱

This grow was so damn easy it’s not even funny. It used to take hours to mix and water and ph and dick around. With this, RO water, cal mag, ball park PH pour in. The plants love it. Every 2 weeks pour a scoop of the powder in, mix in top soil, move on. This is my go to for the foreseeable future. No problems, no burning and great bud. What more can you want!!! I’d like to thank Fast Buds for providing the seeds. Their genetics are so good. I can see me growing this brand of seed for a long time. The buds are frosty, smoke great, grow fast and gives a great variety of strains in a short amount of time. I appreciate the hook up. 👍🏻👍🏻
