Just started transplant of Blue Afghani (Sticky Fingers Edition) by Ethos. Growing for first time outdoors, hopefully she makes it through the transplant shock and week. Supposed to rain all week. Excited to see the results!
Growing outdoors is new to me.. dealt with 2 spider mites on the plant about a week ago and decided to squish them on the spot. Haven't seen any of those buggers pop up since.
Plant is growing faster than I expected so I topped/filmed (not sure yet) it the other night.
Going to start LST very soon to let them stretch out. The other option would be to just leave it alone and let it do its thing because I am flipping the plant into flowering starting next week.
She growing! Trying to force flip into flowering soon, hopefully it works out and doesn't go herm! Tying off some of the branches using pipe cleaners to help train the plant into the direction I want it to grow
Topped a few more sections of the plant and pulling some branches down using pipe cleaners. I want to try and let this girl grow tall and wide but we'll see how she goes! Overall super happy with the progress so far as it's growing faster than any previous plant I've grown.
She growing but had a little problem with fungus gnats, popped a yellow sticky tab in there and problem solved. Here and there I'm finding little mites and other weird pests on there so might pick up some Diatomaceous Earth for them. Overall she is growing stupid fast and I decided I'm just gonna let her grow free willy for the next 6 weeks. I decided I'm gonna feed the plant when the soil is dry so my last feeding was on July 1st.
Into week 3 we go, plant looks amazing, as always. Calyx is beginning to form the outlines of the bud and the trichomes are filling up the leaves. I'd say she's pretty happy with the conditions overall. Few pest issues here and there but nothing that will kill the plant as of yet.
Into the fourth week we go! The plant is beginning to eat away at it's leaves as its life slowly comes to an end. Buds are filling out all over the plant as some of the terpenes begin to change their color to orange and red. Overall I think the plant is happy with its current state :)
Looking fabulous as always. Plant wasn't looking to great last week as it needed to be fed desperately and was lacking nitrogen. Terpenes have begun to turn orange all throughout and everything is looking phenomenal!
Into day 48 of flowering! The strain calls for it to be cut around day 55 so one week left! Really excited how this plant turned out as it was all a learning experience for me.
I provided this plant with as much of a natural setting as i could. From getting fresh cold glacial mountain water once a week, to the soil I dug up from the ground. The plant had full blast direct for 8+ hours almost every day! In the future I will most definitely consider growing more outdoor plants.
One week left to go for this beauty and quite honestly I feel a little sad to chop her down, but it's coming up to her time and I'm glad everything turned out! My next update will be the harvest and yield I get out of her. I don't expect much but I do expect to try my first home grown outdoor plant! Can't wait! XD
