Seed hit soil on 3/18/22 after a few hours soak. I grew a cheese as one of my first grows. It was a hot mess but I enjoyed the resulting bud nevertheless. Now I know enough to do it right. I used my homemade mix, recycled potting soil + composted wood chips + daddy pete's plant pleaser + homemade biochar Added Root Zone seed starting mix, Dr earth @ about 2 tbsp per gallon of grow medium. Took about a week for her to sprout. And we are off!

The grow room is full of garden plants in addition to 2 autos in different stages and 2 photos in 1 gallon pots. It’s pretty easy now, keep them watered but not too much!

Fertilized with Dr earth tea I have the tea down to an art. I have a small mesh bag with a drawstring. Add the dry amendment, mosquito bits to the mesh bag. I add a couple of chunks of yucca root from my garden as an organic wetting agent. I tie the strings around the bucket handle. Fill with water so that the dry nutes dangle in the water like a tea bag. Add a tbsp or two of molasses. Bubble overnight. Add the liquids to my pump sprayer, top dress my plants with the solids. She’s growing great! Looking strong with a sturdy, thick central stem.

She’s getting big and beautiful 🤩 Fed with Homegrown tea. She’s going to start absorbing more nutrients I think, as her roots fill the limited space in this one gallon pot.

I gave her some wood ash because she looks potassium hungry. She’s growing like crazy now, getting really tall! Starting to think about topping her. Whether I move her outdoors or keep her inside, I’m going to want her to stay short.

It’s a big week! Topped and transplanted. Transplanting was a little rough. I had her in a cloth pot. My first time working with these cloth pots. It was a bit of a struggle shimmying out of that cloth pot. The 5 gallon pot has my new soil mix Composted wood chips Homemade biochar Recycled potting soil Rabbit poo Daddy Pete’s plant pleaser, which is composted cow poo and pine bark There may be other stuff… I’ll update if I find the list! Amended w dr. Earth homegrown and all purpose 2 tbsp amendment per gallon medium Isn’t it funny how plants look so much bigger immediately after you transplant them? I mean I know it’s not really bigger, but damn all of a sudden she looks BIG.

After her transplant last week, She was showing wilting and nutrient deficiencies, and of course… bottom watering had been working so well that I got used to it… well it doesn’t work the same when there are no roots in the bottom few inches yet… duh… But this was quickly remedied and she’s back to vigorous growth.

Time to tame the beast a bit. I built a simple trellis out of bamboo sticks I have on hand. Starting to weave the branches over and under, and outward. This limits how much I can turn the plant but it’s helping me get ready for her to form a canopy when I flip the light cycle to flower.

Some trimming underneath and final shaping of the canopy this week… and by the end of the week, I’m seeing flowers! I haven’t done much feeding because it’s new moon week, but she’s starting to look hungry again.

It’s my first time growing photos. I flipped to flower about 2-3 weeks ago and everything’s going well EXCEPT this morning I discovered someone left the lights on in the basement last night. Is this going to f*** up my grow? Is there something I can do to fix it now?

Just go back to 12/12 and everything should be ok, it takes a few days of funny lighting to start weird things happening, one night shouldn't upset it too much. No nedd to do anything to try and "fix" the issue.

Growing and flowering as weeds do… I have been keeping an eye on the yellow leaf tips. Feeding her well and adding wood ash to the mix.

She’s hungry! Yellow leaves… my attention has been outdoors mainly. Admittedly there has been some neglect on my part!

My trees dried out a bit and are looking a little jacked up. Too late for a pretty harvest but I think it will still be some good product if I baby it from here!

Cheese is always a little fussy. Sensitive to light stress especially. After a few attempts, I finally got one to harvest and ended up with a couple of ounces of nice bud. I’m happy with this harvest.
