My hempy bucket is growing and gaining leaves, but she is significantly smaller than either one of the neighboring AK 420 and Northern Lights ladies. Not sure whether this is a question of strain or grow medium. But this is a learning process, and I'm happy she's closing in on flowering, however small the eventual results. Been a mix of rainy and sunny days, next week looks warmer and with plentiful sunshine. Fingers crossed.

Added perlite and clay mix to a 10L outdoor hempy bucket, with Skunky Lady on top. Curious about hydroponics fertilizer use outdoors, should it be added early or wait for some growth when the roots hit the reservoir? Seems like it would be wasted if I add it early on....

Perlite should be mixed with your soil to loosen it up and add aeration. It will most likely just blow away on a windy day with it like that. Any fertilizer will be sufficient enough. Just follow the "Feed Chart" using 1/2 the recommended amount. PIck a single brand from here. I find #1 is expensive and over rated. growdiaries.com/nutrients
