I have a ton of seeds from all these halfway failed (successful if you want) grows and I've forgotten to label some of them and mixed them up, so time to run a few SoG harvests!
These ones are all some type of Blueberry-crossed strain: blueberry coughs, blue widows, I think there are some chocolopes and rasputin crosses, orange sherbet blueberry, etc. Pretty much anything I've grown has made some seeds with my blueberry cough and blue widow plants at some point!
Most of them are doing well so far! A few of them are a bit stunted and looking like they may not make it. Got at least one with a stunted leaf on one side of the stem.
Light watering, half power on the lights.
Chugging along nicely. A little bit more water on the larger ones of course. One of them has some thrip symptoms and damage, applying water/neem/soap combo.
They're all doing well so far, growing plenty fast! I may or may not transplant them up to 3 gallons depending on how many of them turn out to be female. I will be flipping them to flower in 2-3 weeks depending on how they look and my patience level. 😄
Still chugging along strong! I only suspect the one tall, stretchy one as being a male so far. There are 4 of them that had some trouble or another as seedlings and are thus stunted a bit compared to the rest. Of the rest of them there are at least two of them that have little hairs popping out already, but I'm sure there will be more than that!
After I get the carbon filter fixed up for the venting I will be flipping them to flower, probably next Monday some time.
Decided to flip them to flower a week early cause I'm a little impatient I guess. Down to 8 of them after a few days, hopefully I don't get too many more males, but there are at least 3 females!
I've resisted the urge to top or main-line them so now that the numbers are dwindling they're more like a Lake of Green. But I won't complain, they're looking pretty nice!
Slight defoliation on most of them, I will be doing the rest of them next week - whoever is left!
Six will do! They'll have plenty of room for the side buds to have light penetration, so that's a plus.
Been hot and humid this past week but they don't seem to be too upset.
Guess I didn't quite get the tops in the pics of each plant. Oh well, maybe I'll get some new ones up.
Everyone's looking pretty nice, even the shorter ones are about the same height as the tallest at this point. They're a bit further behind in bud growth as well, so they'll probably end up being a bit less ripe and the more "sativa" high of the group. They're all starting to grow their trichomes on the larger, main flowers - always nice to see!
I'm trying to keep an eye out for those gatdamn bananas that seem to plague me every grow so far. I think I took care of the light leaks I had in the last grows though, so hopefully all will be well this time.
It's been strangely humid this summer but they don't seem to mind too much. I water them a bit every day and if they're too light I give them a good soak. Just water with a bit of ascorbic acid to remove the chloramine that I read may kill the living soil, molasses to feed the buggies and bacteria, and living soil.
I've taken off a lot of the unnecessary fan leaves and will probably leave them alone this time so I don't stress them out too much. Unless there are dying leaves, of course! Did some LST on the branches that were in the way of lower ones or underneath the ones above.
Have a nice week! 😁
Update: that sonofabitch in the back right was hiding some balls on me. I was going to remove just the offending branches but it was basically the lower half of the plant so I just chopped it. Damnit!
I'm a bit late on this week but these pictures were taken at the proper time!
One of them decided to start growing some male parts (front left) and after a few days of hand-castrating the 5 or so bottom branches, they're now back to growing female parts! First success story I've had with that - though god knows what may happen still, I've come to learn.
Not as hot but still humid this week. They seem to be fine with it, though I'd like to see some more trichome production. Maybe my Living Soil was stale, at this point it is a bit old but I'm broke..and I really hate mixing nutrients every week!! I'd look into hydro but I need as much tent space as I can get for plants.
Looks like the one who tried to herm decided against it!
Everyone who's left seems to be doing great.
I've never done a grow in 1 gallon pots, but I experimented by growing some tomatoes in them prior to trying this and they did wonderfully so I'm not surprised they're fine. The internet would make you think it's destined to fail!
My only real concern is yield of course, but they seem to be doing just as fine as any other grow I've had. I think this is the first time I've left them without topping as well, maybe that's why they're happy!
Everyone is doing well still! It's gonna be super hot next week so let's hope no one gets too stressed out.
The one who started growing male parts is definitely going to be finished first. Few more weeks on them all and it will be all good to go and start another one.
Next season I'm going to take off a good quarter of the bottom foliage when they go into flower so they stop taking so much energy from the top ones. I need fat buds damnit!
Super heat wave this week, but I think the ladies were having a better go of it than me!
The most mature of them is starting to stink a good amount and is definitely a Blueberry Cough x who knows what, if anything, and its trichomes are nice and shiny with a good amount of amber so far. The one on the far left has a bit of a blueberry smell but the rest of them have that sort of "musty" hash plant smell. We will see what happens with them as they progress, plus once they cure of course.
Watering them a bit more often and larger amounts. Their lower and larger unused leaves are starting to yellow and droop, just giving them a hand when they're really ready to come off as I don't want to stress them.
Took all the LST off so they aren't crowding each other as much. There's really no reason to keep holding them down this far along; probably 2 maybe 3 weeks max til they get the chop, I think. Ya never know though!!
Technically this should be week 13! I got a new job so I forgot to do last week's..at least that's my excuse for neglecting my duty.
Still coming along nicely. Heat wave ended and it's moving into our excuse for autumn/winter here, so it's still pretty warm and dry. This week will be back up in the 80s and like 45% RH so I don't have to dehumidify at least, which is much harder to accomplish in my grow space than adding humidity.
I was going to chop them yesterday, but I'm going to wait until Monday and officially do it then. I think the darker green ones could probably go longer but I don't want the other ones to go too far and possibly start to lose THC or whatever. I'm not positive if that even happens, but it sounds like it would eventually! Plus, if I start another grow now I think I can get it done before it gets too humid to contend with.
All went pretty well this time! I did find a couple bananas on one of the plants that were hiding. Thankfully they didn't pollinate anything else. I don't need ANY more seeds right now damnit! I will get more pics and weights tomorrow or the next day.
Got about 38 grams out of the five plants in 1 gallon containers with 14 weeks total. Can't complain too much, it's all pretty lovely. Though it did dry a bit too fast per usual, as I don't have much control over the environment unfortunately!
