For this run I am growing two bubblegum plants and two amnesia plants. I have decided to grow in rock wool blocks and I will be hand feeding them. Keeping the environment optimal for this grow is critical. I had a lot of mold problems with the ebb and flow methods I used last time.
Aug 7
Transplanted all the plants into six inch Hugo blocks. The plants were very pale yellow green so I adjusted the light to 24 inches above canopy. Within a few days the plant are starting to look much greener. It loos like I will not have to water for a while as the blocks hold a ton of water.
Aug 14,
I did not water the plants this week. The large rock wool blocks are still very damp. The plants look very healthy. The new plant growth is coming in a bit bright green and turning darker as the plant grows. I will be increasing the nutrient solution for the next feeding.
Some powdery mildew was starting to grow on top the Rockwool blocks. I simply took a paper towel and brushed the mold off the blocks. By letting the blocks dry out more the mildew has not come back.
I have been following the recommended VPD chart and the growth from just one week is incredible.

This week my humidity was erratic. I had my humidifier inside of my tent and it was pushing out to much humidity into the tent. I turned the humidifier to it’s lowest setting but it was still outputting more humidity than expected. I turned the humidity on my controller to 75% dehumidify and the tent is staying at the correct humidity now.
Topped the plants this week at the fourth node and cloned the cuts. After a few days the plants recovered quickly and look great. I also did some light defoliation of some fan leaves and the plants are taking shape very nicely.
By midweek the week pants were thirsty and still looking lime green. I decided to up the nutrient strength to 1300 ppm (500 scale).
I changed out the light in my grow tent for the higher power HLG 225. The HLG has more power and a red spectrum that promotes flowering. The grow room light timer has been set to 12/on 12/ off.
The Amnesia Haze #1 has indica dominant traits with broad five finger leaves. It is smaller and more compact than the other three plants. I decided to remove the AH#1 to a separate grow tent to continue vegging.
This week was rough.
I started off this week by changing the light schedule to 12/12. The plants responded quickly and had noticeably started to stretch on day three.
Midweek the heat in the tent got to high and one of my plants ran dry. The plant was severely wilted and the Rockwool was completely dried out. I watered immediately and the plant has come around but looks very stressed. The plant my have to be discarded. The surviving plants look great.
I I’m watering the plants every two days now following the week 5 nutrient schedule minus the liquid kool bloom.
I added a little Armor Si to the nutrient solution to adjust the ph of my solution up.
9/12
I did some defoliation on the plants this week and moved the plants into different locations in the tent.
The plants have stretched a lot and the buds are forming quickly. My canopy could be better.
9/16
I decided to cut down the three plants in the flower tent. The plants were not very strong and the stems were breaking under very little weight. My mother plant in the other tent has just as many bud sites as the other three flowering plants combined. So I decided to cut them down. The rest of this diary will focus on the now flowering mother plant
I am very confident with my decision. The plant has absolutely taken up the new grow space and looks like it will produce the same if not more on harvest. I am also confident that the quality and the potency of the flower will be better.
Next week I will change all the settings to reflect the new plant in the flower tent

Turned the a/c unit off today and ran the tent exhaust out the window. I will monitor the temps for the next few days and adjust the environmental controls as necessary.
Within a few hours it was very obvious I was going to need to keep the a/c on.
Added a trellis net to the tent and began weaving the stems under it. If all goes well I will definitely have a harvest bigger than the three plants I had in tent to begin with.
9/23
The plant is drinking about 1500 ml a day so far with 60 to 70 percent dry back. I may have to add a second watering.
9/27
The plant is starting to form flowers!
This plant is taking some abuse. I have let it run to dry 3 times and the plant has come back to life in just a hours after watering. When I topped the plant I made the cut to close to the node and now the mainstem has split. The trellis is supporting the plant well and the split stem has healed and shows no signs of splitting.
