Here goes nothing.. First grow since I was a teenager lol! (15 years) Following mostly Mr. Canucks recipe and videos.
I'm an experienced micologist, so I'm hoping I fare well with plants too 😅
My tent is RATHER large so I'm hoping that's no biggie with my smaller lighting for now.
Excited to see each girl pop thru and looks as to be expected. Messing with the light height and fans running to build root and stem strength. Currently, I'm using a spray bottle to water them and focusing on the stems. Also been try to pour a bit of water down the sides of the fabric pots (i guess this is a con to them as watering trays seem like they could be a hassle and/or ineffective.
Also, I'm still messing with my setup and trying to dial in temp and rh. I would like to probably add some humidity soon I think.
I got a new light this morning and some more fans on the way so stay tuned for updates and I openly welcome any comments or tips to help as this is my first time....
Oh and, i put one of my mushroom tubs in there as an experiment with heat and rh but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad idea lol. Contam maybe?
Looking pretty good today. Noticed a tiny bit of white tips I'm hoping if I pull the lights back a couple inches I won't see it worsen. 😅 and maybe I'm not watering enough either
Going into the 3rd week and noticing a bit of curling under on the older fan leaves and they feel dry.
I'm thinking that I over-watered..
On top of that because of last weeks dry tips I backed the lights off and only had them at 40% at that time. I never turned them higher so then they stretched and some fell over...
So a few days ago I turned the lights up to 80% but still was watering...
Yesterday I turned my lights up to 100% and haven't watered for 24 hours and will wait at least another 24 hours. My ph looks like it's at 6.8, which may be a tad high? Any tip are GREATLY appreciated. Yah bless.
Seeing pistols today on 28 so I had to get photos! These girls are looking great. I have cut back on watering and they're looking much better imo. A few burnt tips but I'm not too worried. My ph was almost 7 a week ago so I go a ph pen for my water and did some watering at 6ph and now going with 6.3 to slowly bring her down. These girls are looking super bushy, green, and hardy imo and they're more appealing to me than the Orginal Afghan Kush Auto from Fastbuds grown side by side. Both look so gorgeous that Im feeling truly blessed to garden my own medicine.
Thanks for dropping by! Any tips and comments are always welcome 🙏
Added 2 tbs 4-4-4 and 2 tbs 2-8-4 and 1 tbs mycorhizzae to each pot. Some deficiency and/or stress from lst and defoliation is seeming to cause some redish-purple stems and yellowing leaves. Also some brown spots on one girl but overall withthis being my first grow, I'm happy.
Coming into week 7, as a new grower I have learned so much from these ladies. Over watering during the beginning and lighting issues were my biggest concerns (I am still figuring that out I think 🤔 if I'm correctly identifying these yellow tips)
Also, I didn't give first top dressing soon enough imo
Lastly, these 3 gal pots seem to be giving smaller girls (I have 2 that were planted almost 2 weeks after these and tower over them)
Overall, I'm very excited about my journey and look forward to continuing my knowledge and skills 🙏💖🤲
Girls are short, not quite as bushy as the original Afghan Kush auto that I'm growing from Fastbuds side by side. The nugs look prettier to me though. Maybe a week or so until they hit the dark before harvest. Will be using water from here forward
