Had an issue with the light timer and didn't realize it for a few days, so a bit of a slow start, but the plants look healthy. Added low dosage of FloraNova to during one watering (0.5ml/L). Two additional waterings with no nutrients.

So all three plants started filling out pretty well this week. The middle plant has some odd issues -- only two leaves grew on one side of the three leaf sets and it has some discoloration. It's still growing well and is actually the tallest of the three plants by a small margin. That said, after I did some digging around google, I am pretty sure it is nitrogen toxicity. I think I added nutrients way too early in the grow, so I am going to wait until they are transplanted into larger pots before I resume adding anything to the water. I have FloraNova Grow, CalMag, and Floralicious nutrients/supplements and will plan on adding those at a really low dose (maybe 50% of the lowest recommended dose on General Hydroponics 4-part feed chart to start). I wish they had a dosage guide specifically for soil. Guess I'm improvising on this MFer. All of that said, a lesson: do not start adding nutrients too early. Learn from my bullshit. I think all of the plants will be fine, but meh. Not something I wanted to worry about. Finally, I lowered the light and increased intensity to 55% at 20 inches earlier this week. I bumped it slightly higher to 60% today. With the roots starting to pop out of the bottom, I will plan on transplanting at some point this week when I have another set or two of leaves develop. Definitely want to get a full set of 5 leaves before I disrupt anything. I think thats it. Deuces. Jam of the week: Playing God - Polyphia https://youtu.be/Z5NoQg8LdDk EDIT: I posted a question last night and received like 10 great answers today. Unreal! Thank you all so much for your helpfulness. It's common to hear snarky answers on reddit to legitimate questions and I am kind of blown away at how cool everyone was to provide that time/effort. Thank you all a ton!!

If anyone has advice on the middle plant, I'd hugely appreciate it. I added nutrients last Thursday (7 days ago) and I am pretty sure it was way too early. The middle plant has some discoloration on the leaves. Will avoid any more nutes until I transplant into 5 gallon smartpots.

I think you DID add your nutes a little early - but it's not catastrophic... and your instincts are spot on - just give her pH'd water (don't keep them contantly wet) for a while even after you transplant... they've been pretty stressed and transplanting will stress them even further so go gently! And never introduce nutes according to the chart they give you... it's not that they aren't telling you how to use their nutes in soil - it's that they're not weed-specific charts! Always start out at 1/4-1/2 strength and see how your plants react... if they take to it well, you can increase your dosage. Good luck - I honestly think they'll be fine.

The plants had an excellent week of growth overall. I watered all of the plants on Friday (about ~200ml each) and decided to transplant on Sunday after seeing healthy roots growing out of the bottom of each starter pot. They're now in 5 gallon fabric pots. There seemed to be zero recovery period after transplanting -- the sets of 5 leaves were noticeably bigger the next morning, so like, rad nugs on that front. I watered each plant with 0.5L right after transplanting and again on Tuesday. Kept to large circles of water around the plant to encourage the roots to spread in the pots. My pH has been hovering at 6.4 with pure water. I also increased the light intensity from 60% to 75% over the course of the week. Spider Farmer recommends 60-90% brightness at 14-16 inches for veg, so I am going to continue lowering the light from 18in and increasing light intensity over the next week or two. I'll go incrementally to mitigate stress. The nutrient burn from week 2 also seems to be chilling way out. The leaves look like a much healthier shade of green to me (but also, wtf do I know, so take that with a big ass lump of salt). I decided to reintroduce nutrients to the situation today and went with 1/4 of the light feed recommended dosage from GH's week 2 guide. +FloraNova: 0.8ml/gal +Floralicious: 0.25ml/gal +CALiMAGic: 0.25ml/gal I used 0.75L per plant. I plan on using clean water next watering and then likely increase to 1/2 of the light feed and see how they react. From what I read, it's easier to fix deficiency than toxicity, so I am going to try not to harsh their mellow with too many nutrients too soon again. I think that's it for now. Be cool. Boomin. All three plants seem to be growing really well. The plant in the middle (that initially had the worst nutrient excess) continues to be a weirdo, maybe a mutant? Either way, she is growing, so that's just fine. Keep on keepin' on. I increased the amount of water and nutrients over the course of the week and they responded really well. Feeding and watering schedule was as follows: Friday: .5L of water each (they looked a little dry around the edges) Saturday: light foliar spray of water with 0.3ml/L of Floralicious Sunday: 1.3L with 1/2 dosages of recommended nutrients +FloraNova: 1.5ml/gal +Floralicious: 0.5ml/gal +CALiMAGic: 0.5ml/gal Tuesday: 2L of water each Today (Thursday): 2.25L with 3/4 dosage of FloraNova and a full dosage of CaliMagic and Floralicious +FloraNova: 2.5ml/gal +Floralicious: 1ml/gal +CALiMAGic: 1ml/gal I lowered the light to ~16in above the canopy and increased the brightness over the course of the week to 85%. The plants were topped at the 5th node on Tuesday. There were zero issues, so I was super stoked on that. Noticeable leaf/lower branch growth between the night of topping and the next morning, so they really didn't seem to slow down. I also removed the first single leaves and lowest branches since they are not getting much light with how dense the canopy is. I figure it's better for the plants to direct energy into the upper branches. I plan on adding netting at the 1 foot mark above the base of the plants, so they have a handle more inches to go before I scrog them up. That's all folks. Alright alright alright (in Matthew McConaughey's voice). Another solid week of growth. All three plants continue to perform super well and rolled with periodic defoliation of lower growth that I don't really want/need. I did it three times this week and each time was rewarded with strong growth, so yay. I fed them once at full strength. One issue that I noticed is that my soil ph levels are low. I tested runoff and was at 5.3-5.5, so that's not optimal. The ph of my water is stable at 6.4 and with the addition of nutrients, I hover around 6.2. I gave them extra water and water + nutes the last few times I have watered them, so I am hoping that brings it up to a better range. If it's not better next time I feed them, I will grab some lime. I plan on scrogging starting tomorrow (Day 36). Given height considerations, I will likely flip them to flower within the next 2 weeks. Oh, and I moved my light up to about 18in and the plant that was in the middle to the left side. I think it is staying shorter/shrubbier than the other two because the light is strong as hell at 85%... Shoutout to Spider Farmer on that one. So far, so good. Schedules this week was as follows: Sunday: -3L of water for each plant -Defoliation of lowest fan leaves and branches, 3rd set of fan leaves. Monday: -Foliar spray with Floralicious+, .25ml/L Tuesday: -3L of water with nutrients for each plant --FloraNova: 3.5ml/gal --CaliMagic: 1ml/gal --Floralicious+: 1ml/gal --Terpinator: 5ml/gal -Defoliation of the final fan leaves at the 2nd and 4th nodes Thursday: -1 gallon of water for each plant -defoliation of the lowest fan leaves and branches from the lowest main branches That should be all for now. Plants are going strong. Tonight I flip to 12/12. Football is back. All is right with the world. I added netting and scrogged the plants up starting Friday. During this week, I did some minor defoliation to get light into the canopy. The middle plant is dense as hell. The right plant is a bit more leggy. The left plant is squat and thicc. I bought a dehumidfier to combat the humidity spiking in my basement -- I was hitting mid-to-upper 70s and I had about enough of those shenanigans. I grabbed a beefy GE unit and stuck it outside my tent, along with adding a custom intake fan that I 3D printed. I plan on printing a second one this weekend to add to the other side of the tent. Pictures are attached. I think I got my pH soil issues under control this week as well. I added alkaline buffer to water / nutes to bring it up to 6.6-6.8 and watered with significant runoff. My runoff is now hitting 6 (as opposed to 5), so that's just super. My schedule for this week was as follows: Friday -All scrogged up Sunday -1.25 gallons of water for each plant + nutrients --3.5ml/gl FloraNova Grow --2ml/gl CaliMagic --1ml/gl Floralicious --5ml/gl Terpinator Tuesday -1.25 gallons of water for each plant --1ml/gl CaliMagic --1ml/gl Floralicious --5ml/gl Terpinator Thursday -1.3 gallons of water + nutrients --3.5ml/gl FloraNova Bloom --1ml/gl Floralicious --1.8ml/gl CaliMagic --1ml/gl Liquid Koolbloom --5ml/gl Terpinator That'll do it! Flower power. Great start after the flip -- the plants showed no slowing down and great 4-5 inches this week. I defoliated throughout the week to allow light to reach into the canopy, I removed large interior fan leaves for the most part, but also removed some of the lower branches coming off the mains that weren't getting much light. I know that most conventional wisdom says to wait until week 2-3 for defoliation and pruning, but I have been lightly trimming all three plants throughout the weeks with 1+ days of rest in between and they seem to dig it. So I am going to keep up with this strategy through week 3 before stopping. I also designed a new exterior intake fan, continuing to make smalll upgrades since the first version. I am going to print a second one along with longer wings to cover the back of the tent this week. There will be no need to run a dehumidifier in the tent with beastmode dehumidifier I have in the basement room + the intake of freshly dehumidified air. I have been running at ~45% humidity, which is pretty ideal. These small fans run on USB and draw very little power, though I might actually try a more powerful fan in a future version. I've let the plants grow toward the light and currently there are ~12in away with zero signs of stress. I willl keep them in the 10-12in range as long as they continue to show no stress.
