The last time I was here was the end of 2019 - see my previous grow - which was actually a great success (!) So 2 and a half years later I am finally running out of produce, so I thought I'd have another go I still had some seeds bought in 2019 so a bit old but I thought I'd give em a try Diesel 1 seed I popped into a glass of water on 12 Aug and by 22 Aug I had a little sprout - by now she looks pretty good I also had an Auto Kalashnikov seed but nothing at all happened with her - just too old I expect. So then I thought just go for it and get some new seeds. My old Diesel 2 seed went into a jiffy bag 23 Aug and put in the pot a few days later. Green shoot visible on 1 Sep - will see what happens with this one, but I think she is struggling New seeds arrived 2 Sep So in the tent I have 2 Diesel, a White Widow and a Quick One In the middle there's another White Widow in a little pot which is a spare just in case Diesel 1 is going well - annoyingly she's a few weeks ahead of the others See what happens, setup is: Seeds: from https://www.female-seeds.co.uk/ Soil: Westland Multipurpose Compost with John Innes Pots: 12L Root Nurse fabric pots Fan & Filter: Ram 4" + Fox 100x150mm Light: Spider Farmer 1000 Tent: Black Orchid 70x70x160cm

Well my other Diesel is not going to happen. Just a pair of cotyledons and nothing else. Glad I put in the emergency spare - which has now sprouted.

Made a mess of that - won't be using the paper towel method again. In the middle is the White Widow that sprouted a week ago Had to start over with the others Waste of seeds but I learned something The front two are White Widows and the back right is a Quick One

26 Sep all looking good Diesel is getting quite large and shows signs of flowering I put the White Widow in the middle in a bigger 8ltr pot - she didn't pause for a minute 30 Sep - This should actually be the start of Week 4 - sorry got my dates wrong (!) Hope the Diesel doesn't get too much bigger - want some space for the others Going to get crowded in this 70 x 70 tent Oct 1 - Smell is a problem - mainly the Diesel I think. Ordered a new carbon filter to fix (old one is from 3 years ago) Back left: Diesel auto, day 40 from sprout - she should be about half way there Back right: Quick One - day 16 Middle: White Widow - day 21 Front two: White Widow, day 16 Oct 5 - Diesel may need a bit of a trim - she is on day 44 The White Widows are going great The little Quick One has a sickly looking leaf but otherwise looks fine Oct 6 - that's the end of week 4 - the White Widow in the middle is on day 26 and starting flowering

Oct 7 - Week 5 Here's the tent in the corner of the garage. The box at the bottom is a "boiler room" with a little oil radiator and a humidifier in it. The box on top is a home made silencer / de-odorizer All the insulation round the tent serves to: 1 keep it warm, 2 keep in the smell, 3 keep it quiet The overall noise is about the same as a noisy fridge Top of Tent - that tiny little filter is doing a great job. I did have the fan running 15 minutes on then 15 minutes off You wouldn't notice but gradually the smell seeps out of the tent during the off period Once that smell seeps out, it lingers and spreads Solution: run fan 24/7 No smell now Oct 10 - the WW in the middle is fully flowering (day 30) The little ones are all pre-flowering Oct 11 - the Diesel is 24 inches tall - the others are visibly bigger each day - think I might get an extra LED for flowering anyway as I have a 10% off deal on it

You won't get 60 bucks more in bud but a bigger bill for two months.

I would honestly just lower the light you currently have in your grow. I’d try hanging 8-12” above the canopy. 25 watts per square foot is sufficient for flowering alone. You could add more light up until 50w/sqft. I would look for a light tailored to flowering though, with more red light than others.

Your current light is rated for a 60*60cm flowering you should have plenty of light for flowering. But if your do want more light get one for flowering. Reds 2700k- 3000k. Don't want any blue with "supplemental" flowering lights.

Week starts 14 Oct but I'm posting pics of the new extra light a bit early This is from Mr Bezos https://www.amazon.co.uk/KOSCHEAL-Advanced-Spectrum-Germination-Flowering/dp/B08GC7HYVF?th=1 First impressions: I am very impressed - it appears as described - basically this looks like a SpiderFarmer "clone" I have no way of telling if these are really Samsung Lm301b LEDs but they are pretty blindingly bright I was wondering if this was worth a try but for £54 I thought why not (Mr Bezos gave me a 10% discount for some reason) Also when I get an idea in my head I just generally have to do it So I will put this in the tent on Friday 14th 14 Oct - all flowering now The Diesel (day 53) is looking very droopy - but she always has been - hopefully she is putting all her efforts into the flowers The White Widows all look just fine (age 34 and 29 days) I am impressed with these so far The Quick One looked ok until I watered her the other day, now looks rather droopy - maybe she doesn't like the soil ? All plants getting much the same water (bit more for the Diesel) The Diesel should only have about 4 weeks to go 15 Oct - took them all out for a health check - all are fine except the Quick One who has some brown on some leaves Weighed them all and they are all around 4kg except the White Widow in the middle who is in a smaller 8 liter pot (2kg, but needed water) Forgot to say, soil is: Westland Multipurpose Compost with John Innes I haven't fed them anything extra The Diesel seems to have recovered from her drooping a bit and actually looks pretty good - think I'll be more careful watering her in future 20 Oct - I've changed my watering a bit and started doing 20/4 lighting They now get 2L a day between them (so about 400ml each, depending how they look) The Diesel (back left) seems to have really perked up The Quick One (back right) seems to be surviving and is actually stretching a bit - don't think I will get much from her though The three White Widows at the front are just fine

Any idea what's wrong with my Quick One She's on day 30 and recently developed some browning on leaves Took her out for a check - she weighs the same as the others (4kg, 12 liter pot) No bad smells Maybe the soils a bit heavy for her? Who knows See week 6 of my grow

Hi @growinggrannie sorry for the lack of information on growing techniques Basically I am just growing them in shop bought compost (Westland Multipurpose Compost with John Innes) Not adding any nutrients at all The others are not showing this problem Lights are on 24 hours, temp about 21-24c, humidity 45-45% I have no way of accurately measuring pH or ppm/EC Maybe it's just this strain / this one

Your diary doesn't give us any information as to how you're growing them - your focus seems to be on the lights which doesn't have anything to do with what we're seeing in this plant. The very first thing I would tell you to do is to check your pH... something's off with it and is most likely the culprit here.... water her until you get some runoff and check the pH of the runoff... this will tell you what's actually going on inside the soil, the pH level that exists there... you can also check the ppm/EC of the runoff to add to your knowledge of what's going on with her. If it's badly out of whack (should sit between 6.2 and 6.4), you may have to do a flush on her to get her back to square one... and then figure out what nutes you were using and at what strength that you should either cut out or cut back on.... Understand that each plant is an individual and what works for one may not work for another... you're going to have to adjust your regimen (whatever it is - as I said, you don't tell us) to make HER happy... Good luck... but start filling out the diary a little more completely so we have the most information possible when issues arise! That helps us help you.

Thing is - the others are all fine - same watering - and I move the fan around in the tent regularly However she is a Quick One and the others the same age are White Widows

Week 7. Flowering

Oct 21 Diesel (back left) is 60 days old. She should be flowering a bit more. Old seed. Maybe a hint of photo in her? Quick One (back right) is 36 days old. She is struggling a bit but stretching and still growing. Who knows? White Widows (the three at the front) are just doing super they are 36-41 days old This is where it gets tricky - I want some bug buds! For fun, have a look at my previous grow: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/44136-female-seeds-auto-blueberry-grow-journal-by-lordazrael#gallery=1760775 I must have learned something Oct 26 WW3 (front right) has had a real spurt of growth. She is now 70cm tall (27.5 inch) on day 41 from sprout Buds are fattening up on the Diesel (day 65) and WW1 in the middle (day 46) They seem to like the 20/4 light cycle but humidity shoots up when the lights are off, which might not be healthy Oct 27 All starting to fatten up a bit At the weekend I need to take them out and trim a bit I think Very crowded in the tent

28 Oct Diesel is probably about 2-3 weeks from ready WW1 another month I think - starting to look a bit frosty The others should be 5 weeks 29 Oct (Saturday) So this morning took them all out and trimmed off any dead leaves under the canopy This took about an hour - should have took some pics but was in a bit of a rush They are all looking great except the Quick One - she isn't sucking up the water like the others - all the same she is flowering just looks a bit pathetic compared to the rest I weighed them all and she is carrying a kilo more water than the rest The Diesel is looking really good - lots of buds all the way down Now kicking myself as I really should have some pics for my own reference All 3 White Widows look awesome

Nov 5 Diesel day 75 WW1 day 56 Quick One, WW2, WW3 day 51 Really need to give them a good trim, loads of fan leaves now not doing anything Nov 6 - trimming Nov 9 - buds fattening up - look good compared to 2 weeks ago I honestly think the Quick One at back right is just dead, but the buds do seem to be growing I would move her into the middle and give the WW1 more space, but she is in a bigger pot so I can't! Anyway not much more to be done at the moment

11 Nov - lots of flowering and frostiness Diesel - back left - is on day 81 - for some reason she did an awful lot of vegging, and didn't start really fattening flowers until I shifted the lights to 20/4 WW1 in the middle on day 62 Others on day 57 So somehow they all seem kind of "in sync" and flowering together I am tempted to chop the big cola on the Diesel pretty soon but keep the rest of the buds going Even the Quick One (back right) is fattening up 15 Nov chopped 8 inches of flower from the top of the Diesel (day 85) WW1 on day 66 is looking close too The others are on day 61 think the Quick One is actually ready

18 Nov Might chop the top cola off WW1 in the middle Quick One (back right) is on day 64 and doesn't look very happy with all those brown leaves - however the top cola looks pretty good so I might chop that too
