Khalifa genetics wasn't kidding when he said this is the most vigorous land race he's seen, day 9 from sprout in reused super soil and already twice the size of the Balkh Afghans.
Looking good for the most part! they are growing very fast and are overall healthy although I think they may be getting a bit stressed from excessive wind/heat but that doesn't seem to be impacting the rate of their growth.
Day 22 and the tent is really filling in. The plants are already getting super tall and definitely seem to want to grow more vertical than horizontal. They are just now starting to show sex, looks like there's 8 females and 3 males which I can't complain about.
Wow these plants are growing like 2 inches per day its insane. The males are getting ready to dump pollen so I'll be chopping them down soon. I'm getting a bit worried about space in here as they're still in the stretch phase and I already have my light as high as I can get it. I see why people in commercial production have little interest in growing sativas haha these things are wild.
WOW!! a lot has changed in the last 10 days. Just got back from 5 days out of town and they have literally grown 10 inches and are now just under the light. They're really stretching out and filling in so I'll have to do some tent reorganization to make sure they don't get scorched. I'm also noticing that a lot of these plants have been somewhat pollinated by some stray pollen by a male that opened up early which is a little bit of a bummer but oh well.
Not a bunch to update on. I pollinated a single bud on each plant with pollen from all 3 males to reproduce and preserve this genetic. The buds are just now starting to really form are starting to put on some trichomes and odor. It seems as though they are almost done stretching, thank god lol, and only three of them have grown above the light. Its kind of insane, these plants are almost 5 feet tall and were flowered from seed.
Pretty much on cruise control. On plant has grown into the roof of the tent so I had to bend it down but otherwise things are going smoothly. The buds are beginning to fill in a little and Im starting to notice some differences in pheno bud structure and some odors. One pheno so far is crushing the others on trichome production, another has oddly thick pistils, another has finger like grin spoon bud structure with zero thickness to buds and the other 5 look pretty similar with varying degrees of bud density.
Cruising along. Definitely looks like there's been a bit of stray pollen contamination which is a bit of a bummer but oh well. Some phenos are starting to fill I nicely while some others are showing they probably aren't the winner. We're finally starting to get some heavier smells in here, they definitely have a nice tropical aroma.
Garden is okay. Theres definitely been a lot of stray pollen contamination so basically the whole garden is pollinated which kinda sucks. Hoping to finish up pretty soon and figure out my keeper pheno so I can start a new round and get to some breeding. Some of the plants are looking like they're a few weeks out from being finished.
First of all, thank you for your desire for preservation. I think there was pollen contamination. In addition, you did not come across very interesting phenotypes. But I advise you to do it again because you have the skills to cultivate pure sativa.🙏😉
