This plant was a little stunted right from day one and stayed a bit on the small side. The roots only went about a third of the way to the bottom of the pot, looked like the tap root hit something and stopped growing. Other than that the plant had super dark sugar coated buds, just beautiful, with a super strong smell that is kind of sweet with sour undertones that kind of take your breath away. I trimmed this plant while it was still in the pot, took about twenty minutes with a puff break about half way through๐. I chopped the whole plant and hung it in the tent with a wet weight of 106 grams, I'm hoping for an ounce but I think that's a stretch, so we'll see. Big shout out to Justin at Unit Farm for letting me experiment with this light (UF 4000), took a bit to get used to, but I think I've got it figured out. It was my first time using this light, it seems very bright and powerful, fills the 4x4 tent with light from corner to corner and the plants really seem to like it. I think I just have to keep it a little higher than rec.( 36-40 inches above the canopy) just to get a little stretch so the plant will get a bit larger instead of staying so short and compact. Always an experiment when your growing auto's, next experiment coming up shortly๐, can't wait!!
Nice looking plant. I love the deep purple coloring. Plant looks real healthy.
I will definitely give this seed bank a try for my next grow.
Nice job. ๐๐จโ๏ธ
@4chuk, Basil is easy to clone, I just chop a branch from the plant and stick it directly in soil, right in the pot your herb grows in and it usually takes and grows some roots within a week or so. Sometimes it doesn't work, but most times it does and I always have fresh basil on hand for whatever I'm cooking๐..
Smok'em if you got'em!!!
@northernMike, That's really interesting. I grow basil with my tomatoes as it repels some pests and is said to enhance the flavour of the tomatoes, so I would not be at all surprised if there were beneficial effects on cannabis as well. I actually cleared out all the basil in my outdoor garden just a few days ago, shucks.
Keep experimenting buddy.
A great day to you also.
@4chuk,Thanks๐. I did some reading and apparently the basil plant will help make your plant more resinous whether it's planted in the same pot or just beside. After the clones get settled I'll clone more basil plants right in the same pots as my herb, Plus it's nice to have fresh basil for spagetti sauces etc.
Have a great day!!!
@MooSnuckle69, Sonoma seeds, purple kush auto,( two plants) and the bag appeal was awesome, super purple, but I've only tried these genetics once.
Canuk seeds, auto purple kush was an easy plant to grow the bag appeal was O.K with just some tinges of purple, and I've only grown this strain from Canuk a couple times. The smoke from both strains was very good, but if I had to choose with what I know so far I'd say the Sonoma seeds wins hands down, but I might change my mind after this plant is harvested, we'll see, I'm hoping for a dark purple this time!!๐..
Have a great day!!
@MooSnuckle69, Thanks for stopping by๐.. I've grown a few of this strain, the best was from Sonoma seeds. The plants turned into an awesome shade of Purple, super dark, the last one from Canuk seeds just had some purple tinges but the smoke was good๐..
Later!!
@Mrs_Larimar, This light seems really powerful so I'm still keeping the light quite high above the canopy for now, right around 3 feet and the plants are happy..
@Louder,The plants with the big purple colours were from a different seed company(sonoma seeds) this one is from Canuk seeds, I'm hoping for a dark purple, we'll see ๐.. Picked up a jug of Purpinator๐ maybe this will help..
@Secretflower, Thanks again, so far so good, the plants seem to really like this light. Keeping it about 40'' above the plant with very little stretch so far..
I grew the same strain from the same breeder and it was super amazing , the smoke is really good now thats its been curing for a few months , I would say great back up , my friend ๐ Happy Growing
@Tropicannibis_Todd,Thanks๐. This will be the second time growing this strain from Canuk seeds(Great Herb) although it didn't turn near as purple as the couple that I grew from Sonoma seeds, those were so purple they were almost black ๐. Both strains produced some excellent herb, loved to smoke it in the evening๐because it is a nice relaxing high and the flavour was very powerful, hard to explain.
Later!!
@MooSnuckle69, Thanks๐, Not sure what happened with this plant, It's staying small with a weird shape, but I should get a couple nice buds.
Gotta love the PURPLE!!!
@SwissKush,Looks to a good one, the smell is off the charts and it's getting a bit sticky, But the whole plant is a little stunted. Not sure why, but I think it had a root problem early on.
@Ju_Bps,Thanks, the purple is a real deep colour and with the long white hairs it makes quite the contrast and it has that sharp kush smell, can't wait to try this one..
@BarneyRumble420, Thanks very much๐, didn't get real big, but I think the quality will be there. A few more days and I'll sneak a little tester๐ before it goes in the jar..
@DEVS_GENETICS,Thanks again, Last time from Canuk seeds the Purple Kush only had a tinge of colour, but the plant was way bigger. This time the colour is a very deep purple with loads of sugar, but the plant stayed rather small with only two side branches and a large main cola. The joy of growing auto's, you never know what to expect, always an experiment๐ต๐..
@DEVS_GENETICS, This one is hanging in the dry tent for two days now, trimmed it right on the stalk and hung the whole plant, not a big haul but what's there looks really good!!!
