I discovered GW a couple of days ago so i am starting my first diary at week 7. Unknown strain but heh lets be honest, she is looking better and is far more resilient than my other 3!

After last week light green colour (that was about on day 40), i have upped a little bit the weekly dose of Sevia bloom and Bio bloom which i give her and haven't added BM. I feel she has regained her colour a little bit and is still going strong! The last time she will get BM will be on next watering with no nutes and then it will be the sevia and bio bloom only from then on, once a week. Maybe a PK booster near the end but my medium is quite rich so i am thinking i will not need that. I also believe her stretching is over. Lights are at 25 cm above canopy, i will see how she reacts to that but i am thinking more of moving it back up to 30cm.

Went in for a light defoliation removing maybe 6 or 7 big fan leaves exposing a few lateral bud sites. She seems to handle it well after a couple of days. Also realised i now have a calcium issue which could be explanable. Flushed her just before flowering and since then only fed her once. Ph'ed water at 6 and ran it through the mix, came out at about 6.8...not a lot but not something i am happy with. So she will only get water this week and i'll see. Other than that, she looks cool.

I feel like dem buds are fattening up nicely. On day 59, 2 observations: 1) Plant has recovered from the light defoliation nicely and the calcium issue looks handled as it has not progressed since last week, and i can see the buds fattening so thats a good sign i guess. 2) ive decided now to see how she handles the liquid kelp because of the small issues before, i dont want to start messing again with feeding other stuff. However, It has high P, medium K and N so towards end of flower it might not be good enough but let's see. I am taking it day by day now, going to see her several times a day to see how she is doing. So far, not too bad.

My first time monitoring vpd values on a grow. Day time vpd value : 1.5-1.6. Night time vpd value: 1.2-1.4. I think recommended value for mid to late flower is 1-1.3. I hit it at night but during the day temps going up makes my life difficult. How much off range is not good?

Depending on the chart you look at, 1.5 may be great for a mature plant or it might be considered too high... early on for seedlings and such this is probably too much but they'll still grow fairly healthy if not as fast. there are ways to mitigate high VPD, like lowering concentration of nutes, since water uptake is increased you can still give it the same rate of nutes by reducing concentration. Anyway, while the concepts behind this are rock solid, i don't beleive there is a lot of reseaarch to fully flesh it out, especially specific research on marijuana plants and any variances it may have to the general reaserch down on other plants on this subject. So, as always ppl take a concept and run with it.... and not always with any evidence to back up what they say.. So, use the charts, but always let plant observations be the last say. If you cannot control the temps and RH, knowing VPD will limit it's usefulness... liek i said above you can react to high/low vpd by changing nute concentration in an ateempt to maintain rate of what the plant takes in. roots are not selective beyond what fits through semipermeable memebranes.. though there is some active diffussion for some molecules occuring too. otherwise it's just factors of osmosis.. conecntration gradients dictate flow. Think stomatas close in darkness? so the vpd at night may not be suprememly relevant or at least not as important as light hours (might want to google how stomata function just to be sure) i have a chart that shows .5-1.2 being in teh "green". i've seen others that show higher rnages like you mention... they both are doing the math correctly and look professional, but i doubt either has done any proper reseaarch with a proper baseline comparison. It's good science but i highly doubt anyone can be certain about what is "optimal" for the marijana plant species and genetics will likely vary quite a bit due to region the plant comes from or the mish-mash of genetics from multiple regions... consider it a good ballpark to start in and further refine through observing how the plant reacts... just like anything else we do. what's? too much? start approaching 2.0+ and growth slows in my exp with some vege plants last winter... when i reduced concentration of fertilizer (soilles, provided each time), i had a good reaction under bad VPD conditions. My RH was below 30%.. temps were high... it was high VPD and yield suffered due to slow growth and alotted time (schedule)

Going strong, a little bit more than 15 days and that should do it. Buds are fattening up nicely and i can see now the side buds getting bigger due to direct exposure after defoliation. This is definitely a technique i will keep for healthy and vigorous ladies. Smell is also starting to kick in as well as some nice frost on the buds! Yield will be interesting on this one.

Nothing much to say anymore unfortunately, pistils are now at about 60% brown and buds still fattening up nicely! The frost and smell is also getting serious...i am liking how the lowest buds look like...cut a long story short, its going to be a sad day in about 10 days when i chop it down but positive thinking, gonna get a frame and a scrog net for that tent too. Next run gonna be: 2 x cheese auto and 2 x mazar auto.

Girl finishing off...buds have now stopped fattening, or at least from what i see! A few trichomes still clear. As soon as i get some amber and i have less white pistils, knife is gonna fall, i anticipate in a week or so. 4 autos just went into germination today so when this one gets out, im ready for next run! Ill post again on chop day. Peace out

Hey I also have an answer to you VPD question, I have never measured it nor even thought 2 minutes about it . To me it is only for large areas . Don't sweat the small stuff !! Just enjoy the ride !
