was feeling fruity, pause, so what better than some strawberry strains to put head to head. I ran my own feed schedule on some photos and I decided to test the same feed on autos to see if it needs to be tweaked at all. I used my own blend of nutrients that I calculated using optimal NPK, secondary and trace nutrient levels readily available on scientific journals. Let's grow........
meh got lazy, you tube for vids...... I got 7.2 ounces on the strawberry banana, the strawberry nuggets hermed, 3.4 ounces fat nugs.
Strawberry nugs was nothing to write home about smoke wise, strawberry banana slaps HARD, a lot of people actually ranked it better than my sweet slurry. Yield and it slaps!!!! definitely a keeper strain.
Hydro is Hydro, people probably thing Im crazy only using 150 ppm throughout most of Veg, but if you understand NPK and balance, theres really no need to go any higher. This grow started as a kind of throw away, in a storage room, cold temps, super crappy generic light until my main tent empties out. HWgrow custom hydro blend of nutrients with mathematically optimized levels.
Week 1-3 is extremely slow growth, snail pace, but as soon as the roots hit the surface of the water, it catapults in growth. 1 week difference doubles the plants size once the roots hit and I topped once the plants hit the 5th node.
Fast Buds Strawberry Banana is towering over the Strawberry nuggets and its interesting to see how different the heights are when theyre both under the same light.
Had a lot going on this last month so couldn't really update. As soon as I transferred them into the tent, they started flowering. Girls are looking great so far and this grow is just proving out my Hydro Grow Chart. Just following the chart to a T and so far so good.
The size difference is absurd. 2 strawberry autos, same exact environmental factors and identical feeds so I would say this comparison is valid.
Mephisto Strawberry Nuggets - Short, stocky, I been bending the stems to sprawl out the canopy but since its so compact, its hard to get in. I topped this once and have been defoliating the top center. Started weight training, but didnt do much because of low levels of torque. It's super leafy which I'm not a fan of and height wise, I think it's half the size of SB. Ended up crossing her with my s6 just in case surprises happen with the buds.
42 Fast Buds - Strawberry Banana - Stretch is crazy, love the tall and lanky and spread apart lead structure. It will be an easier trim later on. Went through a couple of hiccups and broken stems, fixed with some lollipop sticks. Weigh trained her and was able to drop the canopy down about a foot to even out the canopy. The wingspan (if you could call it that) is 4 feet alone after being dropped. Had to pollinate her too after seeing the structure and bud sites developing.
