1-21-23 Started B -45 from Silent Seeds, moist paper towel with a STRIP of plastic wrap to slow evaporation, not completely covered to allow fresh air., 1-21-23 Checked seed for moisture and germination, nothing. 1-23-23 Checked seed- GERMINATED! Based on the size of the root radical, it sprouted overnight; I'll say 40 hours to germinate. This one's off to a fast start. I planted in pre wetted grow bag cut to be a cube by using the label to slice the medium then sliding the sprout down the blade of the angled label, root first. I gentily cover and dribble with water to set the seed. I hope it ends up 2x the diameter of the bean deep. It's covered with row cover to keep in heat, I'll check daily to see when it sprouts. 1-24-23 Indicas grow well in my set-up. The basement cellar is not heated but the flowering room is off the boiler room. The old walls, some concrete some soft red brick, breathe with the grow. Beautiful and cool in summer even with the lights on. I don't have floor drains and rely on evaporation for drainage. The veg area is open at the bottom of the stairs and the 9' x 6.5' flowering room is the old coal room off the boiler room which has a door. Low ceilings. I have a legal personal grow in Colorado😊 1-25-23 SPROUTED! It has a touch of purple on under sides of cotyledons

1-28-23 First day of week 1. This strain germinated fast, sprouted fast and has a long hypocotyl. I lowered the propagation light by 2". I lighly fertilitzed, let drain and placed on a terry dish towel to pull excess moisture from bottom of grow bag. It looks good. Booba Baby gets covered each night to collect the rising heat from the heat mat set at 75 degrees then uncovered and rotated each morning.

2-6-23 To see the post for First day of week 2 look at comments below.. I'm an old lady and not computer fluent. I can't figure out how to get what I wrote below up here. I don't want to copy then erase😀. The jist of it is B-45 is big and tolerates some cold as a seedling. I like it.

2-11-23 First day of week 3 B-45 continues showing strong growth, especially root growth over the past week, ready for potting on. 2-14-23 Potted on B-45 to larger grow bag. watered in with half strength fertilizer solution and dropped inside a plastic pot, placed back on heat mat and covered with light shade cloth for a couple days. I keep saying how big, quick, cold tolerant Booba's Baby grows and that goes for the remarkably strong, branching root system. I don't expect much top grow until new roots have formed and colonized the new soil ball. But with B-45 that may not take long...

2-22-23 Week 4 B-45 has not rooted out the new grow bag yet. But the lowest leaf is yellowing out a bit, a sign that the plant is actively growing roots. I moved it to the floor place on upended pots to raise to same height. the tray has a heat mat and I cove the group at night. I dialed down the light to 50% hoping to stretch it out a bit and get some cuttings for clones, increased fertilizer. Indicas do well in my grow, even in summer the basement cellar stays relatively cool and cools down every night. The cold air from the swamp cooler drops down the stairs. No room in flowering room till May, it'll be a bigin' when she goes in 2-23-23 Fertilized, let sit then put grow bag to dish towel for 2 hours to draw the excess water from the soil. Right after transplanting, it's easy to over water till new roots fill the soil and dry it out.

2-25-23 First day of week 4- B-45 is has not made much new growth this past week. I put it back on the countertop tray with other seedlings. Meanwhile I set my sights on the next stage, growing on the seedling. The smallest panda bag is the next step. I cut the lenght to create the right porportions, punch out extra drainage/areation holes in crutial locations and label. I love to smoke in my grow and I have forgotten to label plants. To help myself, I double label. I use a plastic label that follows each germinated bean and I write on the bag. No heat in the veg area at the bottom of my baement stairs. I hope it puts on some top growth this week. 2-28-23 I saw some roots emerge out one side of the new grow bag. I don't know what I did to set this plant back? It lost two sets of lower leaves and It's been sitting there. I cut back on water, shaded with row cover and prayed. I even thought about sprouting a second-SPARE. I'm thinking about B-45, veged to perfection, blooming in the flowering room this June and July...filling the space. It will get nice and warm during summer days and each night the old brick walls evaporate moisture in Colorado's dry climate and chills the coal room turned flowering room. This plant is gonna love it! That's where we're going.

3-7-23 Something happened to set this plant back. It happened to a couple other seedlings too. I think the grow bags I used held too much water. Then the roots are vulnerable. I've been keeping it on the dry side, the dishtowel method and bottom heat plus shade cloth. I got some new root growth and moved them to a small panda bag yesterday. To increase aeration, I punched extra holes in the bag and added handfuls of coarse perlite to the mix, put it on the heat mat and shaded. 3-9-23 B-45 looks better, still a little pale. I rearranged the electrical outlets. Now there should be more heat at the root zone. i keep it covered with light floating row cover. Mostly I'm careful to not over water I have 8-9 weeks in veg: take cuttings and pot on twice ending in a 7 gal with top 2 gal cut off.

3-15-23 I removed a bunch of side shoots starting at the bottom working up four days ago. B-45 responded as i hoped with the top growing thicker, denser stems and larger leaves. All good. I want to get some cuttings going before I flower. i don't now how fast they'll take. once the plant has 12 shoots I'll top it, grow it on 5-7 days and take the bottom 5 shoots as cuttings. I like a 7 branched crown, I don't know why, it often ends up that way, so I just started doing it.

3-21-23 I had to pinch the top out before it got too tall. I have low ceilings in the flower garden. I took one cutting and put it in hormone water to condition for a few days. I bumped the concentration of fertilizer up to 1.5-2 tea/gal applied once a week. I'll maintain that schedule thru the first big, natural leaf drop, around week 5 of flowering. With a scheduled12/12 around the end of April, I have a month to pot on and take a few more cuttings. 3-22-23 I re read Silent-Seeds info on B-45. They recommend only a three week veg....my B-45 will get 12+weeks! I did have that set back. In and odd way it will help keep it in control. I can see what they are saying about habit. I'll pinch the tops more than usual and plan for more room. 3-23-23 the plant is showing some interveinal chlorosis, especially in the side shoots so I got out the hot stuff, 24-8-16 from Peter's and mixed a gal with 2 teaspoons, watered till it came out the bottom.

3-27-23 Potted on to final grow bag, a cut down and hole punched 5 gal. I watered in with fertilizer solutions and added a bridal veil of shade over the top. The count down to 12/12 switch begins with end of April the target=4 more weeks of veg.

4-6-23 I took the three bottom shoots at cuttings and set them aside in jam jars with water to condition before I stick in Root Riot with Clonex. The photo demonstrates LST started this week. B-45 is scheduled to go to 12/12 in two weeks, I sure would like to have more top growth🙏.

4-11-23 This week is all about vegging the seedling and potting-up the clone. The seedling looks more established in the new, larger grow bag. I'll fertilized with 2 tea/gal 10-30-20 this week. The clone will go into the same bag I use for seedlings, get a mild treatment of 10-30-20 and a 'bridal veil' shade cover till I see new growth. I'm chugging along with this seedling, the exciting part is still to come...

I grew another seed from the same packet beginning in November 2023, basement grow LED lights. Again the first to germinate, remarkably unremarkable consistent growth, buds seem to ripen from underneath to top, a perfect pin cushion of colas, but it's the high! I'm in Colorado, experienced smokers, and given 4 different samples everyone picks B-45 out for the high. It's the perfect variety for my grow and B-45 does the job with all us everyday users. Granny Grows says try it!

@mcflow, It is small for seven weeks, disappointing cause it got off to a good start. I'm not giving up B-45. My flower room is perfect Maui weather, 74-76 degrees with a breeze. The indicas love it. And now that it is in a different grow bag, it is doing better.

This is a very interesting strain especially because of the high THC percentage and flowering time. I believe you are the only one growing it on grow diaries right now. I'll be following this diary. What size of pot do you use? According to the info, outdoor it can have a yield of 1000+ grams (+2,2 pounds) so the yield indoor must be great too. Good luck Anna !

@izzy89, oh thank you! I'll go deep in why, when and how I pot on. I don't have drains, rely on evaporation. I disbud everything that doesn't get direct LED light=90-95% is Anna smoking grade bud. My last harvest netted 1.6 oz./sq.ft. over the lighted 36 sq.ft. flowering area. I think the buds are heavier, stack out further, get harder when the plant has big roots. I'll also have plenty of time to take and root cuttings for planting outside 2023. I hope I do BOOBA proud

I've been watching FIGHT THE POWER: How Hip Hop Changed The World with Chuck D on PBS. No mention of BOOBA or Europe. Has anyone seen BOOBA Live?

2-4-23 First day of week 2. Booba's B-45 is heads and tails above the other two seedlings I started at the same time. My veg is an unheated cellar type basement in Colorado and it's been cold, down to 44 degrees F at night, in the 60s during the day. The grow mat keeps the root zone warm and I cover with a light row cover at night to trap the rising heat off the mat. Less than ideal conditions. That's what I have and Booba's Baby loves it! I trimed the rootlets to encourage branching and added support with thin wire and thread. When the weather warms I'll fertilize with 1/4 tea/gal. I'm aware that when the temp drops outside the heat mats come on and stay on, drying the seedlings out. I keep water nearby.
