Hongo Yeesh what a mess of a start. Seed germinated well but I hastily tried to remove the shell and ripped both cotyledons in the process. Kept pot covered with plastic dome and sprayed the inside of the dome as well.

Hongo Sprayed soil with pH 6.5 H2O + Liquid Seaweed (1mg/gal), sprayed the inside of plastic dome as well. Mangled cotyledons due to my impatience and meddling with trying to pull off the shell. Won't do that again!

Hongo Same process, having trouble with the soil and I am willing to bet the root growth is poor. I hate this Pro-Mix potting soil I used, should have realized how many problems it contributed to my first grow. Maybe when I transplant I can mix in more perlite in the soil and get better water distribution?

Hongo 2/5 Day 78 made 15 gallons of new water. added 12 g of yuca extract, 15 ml of seaweed extract, and two and a half tablespoons Epsom salt. light watering of the top, but filled the self watering basins. PP 1/2 full raised light to 60% refilled 2/7 Day 79 more light defoliation in AM. lots of little growth, hard to remove clippings from soil raised light to 70% 2/9 Day 81 Top fed with First Feeding again. Watered the top and raked the amdenments into the top soil as much as I could. Self watering dish had a thin film on the water surface, so I emptied all of them, cleaned them, and made new pH 6.5-6 water and just used that. Did some more defolation of large leaves and those blocking bud sites. I could about 18 potential tops. 2/13 Day 85 Refilled base Did more defoliation of lower stems. Thinking I will let more grow as long as airflow isn't hampered.

Bad idea, as tent humidity was high during dark phase. Alwayss try to water after dark. Since vinegar held pH so well thinking of using self watering dishes again 3/11 Day 111 Set up self watering stands with pH 6.3

Hongo I'm sooooooo excited to begin flowering her once the tent is freed from the Granite Runtz. I struggled a bit in the early weeks but now she's so lush I feel more confident. Looking forward to placing her in the center of the tent and weaving into a trellis net. 3/13 Day 113 Water dish was low, refilled with ~.8 gal pH 6.4 Defoliated a little 3/16 Day 116 Defoliated some more. Refilled water dish

I'm not sure how long I will let the Purple Punch grow before starting flowering. My thought is to keep it going until the Granite Runtz in the same tent are harvested, which probably will be about 5-7 weeks. I expect the 5 gallon pot will be a limiting factor for growth, even If I keep feeding with the amendments, but will the plant suffer or just stop growing?

I had some failed grows preceding this that I haven't bothered transferring my notes to here. The media I was using was super hydrophobic, did not wet well nor drain properly at all. I realized this all too late after germinating and decided to stick with it to see what gives. I eventually transplant into 7 gallon pots with more of the same Pro-Mix potting mix with additional (but insufficient) perlite. After almost 2 weeks I decided to rip that out and transplant into 5 gallon pots with fox farms ocean forest with perlite.

Ok, I've brought this grow diary up to date, I have week 10's pics and notes to upload once we pass the 24th. Controlling tent conditions has become much easier with set thresholds to turn fans on to maintain Temp.RH and am aiming for a 1.0 VPD. I don't think I'll be defoliating until I get more growth and closer to flower. I am growing 3 autoflowers at the same time so I think I will see those through harvest and then flip this to flower. I want to get better with the veg stage.
