Week 4 day 1
Did reservoir change and fresh nutes and forgot to replace air stones. Realized about 4-5 hours later and put them back in with no sign of root rot at all thought I was all good.
Week 4 day 2
Checked plant in the morning and roots have turned brown and smelly and slimy over night. After researching, realized I got a case of root rot. So I rinsed the roots, replaced reservoir water again with fresh nutes, sterilized bucket & air stone.
Week 4 day 3
Checked plant in the morning again and it was like I never touched it. Brown slimy and smelly had come back. Never having had dealt with this situation before I freaked out and popped 5 more seeds expecting the worst. So I once again did reservoir change with fresh nutes except after looking more into it I found Hydroguard from botanicare and people saying it not only cured but is a good preventative to use. Also cut really bad looking roots from bottom that had the brown slimy come back.
Week 4 Day 4
Checked in the morning and nothing really changed but also nothing came back as far as brown slimy but the smell was still there. Just the little brown that was at the top near basket.
Week 4 Day 5
Checked in the morning and not only is the smell almost completely gone but new root grow was coming out of the roots where they had been cut previously.
Week 4 Day 6
Plants is obviously back to healthy, new roots exploding out of net pot. Had to top of bucket once. And we got a little sprout action barely breaking the surface.
Week 4 Day 7
Everything back to normal and now have 3 full seedlings still waiting on the other 2. Eventful week hopefully did damage plant to much to effect end results too much.
@Jarballo, I also think the Rootstim by Bloom City Organics has a huge influence on my plants. it requires a slightly stronger air pump to keep the organics mixed but either way the more air the merrier
@Jarballo, Much appreciated! in my experience hydroponic nutrients are a little low on sulfur. I think that and maybe a slight manganese or zinc deficiency is what is causing the lack of internode growth you desire. It's a little hard to tell from pics. but she's looking great!
@SeedsNStems, Thanks I just looked at your northern lights and it’s a monster at week 3 so I see a little room for improvement in my own. But still definitely happy so far.
