First and foremost, thank you Dutch Passion, for sponsoring these seeds for your contest. They will grow in the same small box my previous autos flourished in very well. I am prepared to supercrop them at some point as I ran out of too space the last time around.
Hi Growmies, so far the two that made it are developing nicely. Lost my touch in terms of speed of development as the autos I had previously were super fast and these are a little slower. Doesn’t mean anything though. I have transplanted the starter cubes into 10x10x7 cm cubes from grodan. Once they start outrooting those, they will move onto the 20x20x14cm final cubes. I will adjust my regular feeding schedule on the fly depending on how they are taking to the ppms they are currently on.
So far they are both not looking like winners :(, but I’ll keep them runting away for the contest sake. But I can honestly not understand what stunted them like this and caused this kind of mutation. The rock-wool was properly balanced, light was also dimmed, no sign of nutrient burn or deficiency….Very strange. The one that didn’t popped was replaced by an Afghan auto which so far is not showing any issues on the same feed.
Hi guys,
Looks like they turned around a bit and start to develop nicely. One of them seems to develop two main colas, almost as if she was topped. Only good thing that came from whatever mistake I made is that they will probably not stretch too much. Otherwise they are taking the high feed very well and finally develop as they should, let’s just hope they don’t go in to flower tight away….
Hi guys,
Both plants are developing ok, taking in to consideration their little delay. The left plant is actually 25cm and the middle 15cm. The middle one however has developed 3 main colas. The left one already starts to show first signs of pre flower.
Hi Growmies,
These ladies are actually doing some catching up, they are in preflower now, and receiving nutes accordingly. The one one the left continues to stretch the most and was already trained down a little, the one in the middle is around 10cm shorter, but a lot more stubby and sturdy, looks like she will develop three main colas, and in general a more desirable structure for my small growroom.
Hey growmies,
Had to do this week a bit earlier, as I am away for a bit. The girl on the left has stretched a bit to much for my liking even though she had enough light on her. She was super cropped on almost all of her tops, to make sure she doesntvgrow into the light while I’m gone. It however seems that she is almost done stretching. The one in the middle is a bit sturdier, simply through her her three main Cola decision. She just started stretching a bit, as she is also abut behind the left one. Both have been massively lollipopped, where only sturdy branches in the top third remained thusfar
Hey growmies I fortunately only one of the two survived my absence, as my cat sitter closed a certain door preventing proper air circulation leading to super high temperatures, ultimately ruining one of the plants and doing quite some damage on the other. Also, as mentioned in my other diary she stretched too much, leading me to the conclusion that all plant in this box will be topped at 4 to 6 main colas, which should also make a ScrOG possible.
Hi growmies,
The plant has recovered from the previous weeks stress and is now in full flower. Have defoliated the bend branches and arranged the canopy to promote best light penetration. Have also removed the ventilation from the box to the outside, which gave me a bit more headroom.
Hi Growmies,
The buds are slowly stopping to stretch on this one. She was defoliated quite a bit as I was worried about aircirculation on her side of the box, another aspect speaking for a scrog in this box. Next week she will get some PK 13/14 to real kick off the fattening and ripening stage.
Hi growmies,
looks like this one started to foxtail a little, so I gimme the lights down a little, I also positioned another fan under the plant, as I was afraid of bud rot. she seems to have a very interesting terpene profile, as I would say that I have never had a plant that smells anything like this one. Buds are staring to swell now, so I fed pk 13/14 for the next week.
Trip report will follow. She was harvested too early, as bud rot started to appear separated instances i would say and I had to remove the whole top bud each time. Therefore I would say she was harvested probably two weeks to early. Let’s see what the dry will bring. Overall she seemed like a very vigorous plant that should be able to yield quite a bit, but not suited for a small grow space like mine together with another plant. Definitely not one of my best grows, I will therefore use the new Seeds that DP kindly provided to give her another try in my DWC in one of the big tents.
This lady was harvested to early as of today I had to remove 4 main buds due to bud rot. There was ample air circulation above and below the canopy with a dehumidifier in the box. Really puzzling to me.
@Salokin, as u maybe remember, also the seed I'm growing right now got some mutation. We can't know what causes that at 100% I guess, but to be honest I think mutation doesn't mean problem or sh*t plant every time. For sure isn't due rockwool, you are experienced with this kind of medium!
Anyway in 1 or 2 weeks I'll start a new crop (Fast flowering fem by FB420) in my 3x3 and I'll try to be heavy with nutriens, like you!
@DeepWaterGrower, usually I don’t have a problem with this kind of feed and so far no signs of tip burn or over feed, but I also used grodan blocks again and somehow I never manage to get my seedlings started properly on them (funny enough on Speedgrow green I never have issues) All of the seedlings started mutating right from the moment of germination. No clue as to why, since the rockwool was ph balanced. Also used a lot less nutrients in week one. Plus the light was dimmed. All very frustrating, same for the pineapple chunk btw.
@FarmZOG,
Hey growmie, not sure we’re you are taking the 1.6 EC you mean I guess, but usually I start off day 0 -5 with an EC of around 0.6 and in week 1 go up to an EC of 1. run off I rarely measure, as these are a stabilized canna aqua nutrients, made for recirculating systems. During veg the solution is always stable for at least 7 days, which in flower could be shortened to 3—4 days depending on feeding times etc.. Feel free to DM me if you need a bit more detail.
