Using a mixture of bagseed and some random mixed seeds from a somewhat reputable source(maybe), both having been in my drawer at least 7+ years, sounds like a good place to start your first grow. 8 out of 10 Seeds germinated and were put in the egg-carton thingy with (cheap) soil I crafted as soon as about 1-2cm of root was coming from the seed. Only 4 survivived my horrible treatment in the beginning enough to show their first true leaves. Because said bad treatment they elongated like crazy and the tallest bend over and died. light was too low as well and they just sat at about 45-55%rh and 18-21C the first 10 days. I definetly made sure only the strongest ones would survive...😅 Getting them Seedlings confused at an early point is not ideal as well, but eventually I will be somewhat sure that its 1 Bagseed and 2 Random Seeds surviving.

Got a cheap 15w LED that the plants seemed to like more. Used that light for about 2 weeks, before upgrading to the GCxSolo2. Put the plants finaly in pots this weak, a 1L for #1 and 200ml for #2 and #3. For these larger pots (and any further repotting) I started to use a mixture I made from >80% Light Mix with some added perlite and some of that sheap soil I used in the beginning. Really slow growth over the first two weeks, probably thanks to me treating them not too well in the beginning and the seeds being old.

Put the plants in a environment (-> tent) where I could control temp. and humidity better. Plants #2 and #3 moved from their 200ml pots into 8L fabrics on day 25. Could have waited a few days with that, since barely any roots where visible. Applied some Dynomyco and water with very low amount of Hesi TNT to all plants on day 25. At about this point my excitement grew, since growth was finally accelerating and a little smell proofed that this was at least the right kind of plant. Slowly introduced the GCxSolo at about 35cm distance on day 19 and increased its output from 25-100% over 2 weeks.

The get finally get going. Only water this week. Topping #1 and #2 over 5th node on day 33. I guess I was kinda curious and ate the cut tops after giving them a rinse. They tasted great, kinda sweet&sour, reminded me of grapes that are not fully ripened and green. Also a bit parsly.

Finally moved #1 from its 1L pot into an 8L fabric as well as topping #1 & #2 on day 33 above the 5th node. The timing was alright I guess, the roots were starting to fill the bottom of the pot on #1. Applied some Dynomyco in the process of moving #1. Also removed lowest leaf pair on all plants. Number 2# is really gaining height now, its almost 30cm while the other two are at 20cm. Putting in Nutrients only every second watering. #1's leaves are such a juicy dark green that I am more worried about adding too much Nitrogen. The GCxSolo2 is running on 100% by the end of this week. It's getting tough to get equal light to the 3 plants in the tent with the bar, but I rotate them 90° once or twice a day and they are growing kinda straight. Also had to steadily move up the light to keep it between 28-35cm from the plants Had a little problem with Sciaridae but got them under control pretty quick with yellow stickers and Steinernema feltiae nematodes. #3 will remain untopped as it is about a week in growth behind #1&2. Also I am pretty sure at this point that #1 and #3 are of similar heritage (at least they look and grow very similar) and it will be a nice to see how they each perferom with and without topping. IF they turn out to be female, since I have no idea what I am working with😅 #1 and #3 are growing so bushy and with such broad leaves that I started to weave the lower branches through the big fanleaves above them on day 40. #2 on the other hand has thinner leaves and more space between nodes, so light penetration is no problem here.

Watering about 400-500mL per Plant every second day. Still with 1mL/L TNT every second watering. Got the exhaust fan connected and running at the start of this week as well, so there should be better humidity control and better CO2 influx. Thought about calculating how much CO2 would be pushed into the tent through the 10x20 intake opening by simple osmotic pressure, but just flicked the switch because the fan needed to be running anyway so why bother. Also not too sure about #1 and #3 possibly being the same strain anymore. Their Leaves started to look a bit too different over time. Planning to have them in 18/6 for at least another week, since I want the majority (so the smaller #1 and 3) to be a bit larger before switching. I got 1.4m of height to work with. That wil let me fit 90cm of plant in there, probably even 100 in a pinch. Maybe the larger #2 will run into trouble there, but we'll see. Dont know any plants gender yet, so I cant plan ahead anyways. Next time I'll definetly get some quality seed and only do a strain at a time. Height from substrate started and finished this week as follows: #1: 23cm -> 29cm #2: 39cm -> 47cm #3: 27cm -> 33cm

Increased TNT Complex to 2mL/L (every second watering), after a little yellowing in some lower leaves was observed. also figured that by this point the light mix would provide less and less nutrients The Male #1 was moved out onto the balcony for now, its probably gonna end up in a salad or being dried for tea quite soon. #2 continues to tower above (50cm from substrate) the other plants and is showing some pre-flower that so-far (day51) are looking female. #3 (at 35cm) got some defoliation, mainly fan leaves from the main stem were cut for better light penetration, also some sideshoots from the lower branches so they got a chance to grow taller. With the plants growing area and depth in becomes more difficult to provide equal lighting with that one bar. still I measure 400-600 ppfd throughout most of the upper canopy, which I guess is ok for just 60w on 0.36m² Measured this with a phone app, which I compared and calibrated on a very clear/sunny day to the suns photon flux at that time for my latitude. Feelt accurate enough. I doubt that the sensor will pick up much of the uv-a leds behind all that plastic and glass. Since its the same for the sun though that doesnt really matter. Also the uv-a seems to be more of a morphological booster and there is only a few of them anyway. Started slowly changing lightcycle on Day 53, arriving at 12/12 in a week (3 Days of 16/8 and 3 days of 14/10, just because I feel like it😅)

How do I continue? Guess I want to switch into flower within the next few days. My idea is to give away #2 and keep the definetly female #3 and ScroG her. Dont think I can grow 2 strains with such different sizes at the same time. Opinions on switching 12/12 and only keeping #3?

Keep both. Buy garden wire and scissors. You may have these already 🙂 And of course nets come in handy. Bend the taller ones highest branches vertical, so that the highest points of the plants are not so far apart. Bring lights closer if possible. Too late to scrog properly. Make a green forest out of those two. Use wire, bending, a net and defoliation to make even an canopy, and to open pathways for lights to go deeper down. Just a crazy thought 🧐

This week starts on the summer solstice, once more round the sun we go. 🙌 Its also the last week I'll count as veg, will be fully transitioned to 12/12 by the end of this week. I am transitioning the nutrients at the same time, so this week will be a bit of both growth and bloom. Started some minor LST in trying to get the lower branches into a place where they are exposed to more light. The upper growth is weaved through the trellisnet, to even out the canopy. The upper growth all around #3 is showing some frostyness, that really goes bling-bling when taking a closeup with flash. #2 only has a little bling on the very top. Plant #1 was moved into a garden far away. Since it was quite a strong and beautiful plant, I will try to collect some pollen if possible. If I ever wanted to start my own breeding program, that would be a place to start. I still feel like I might have transitioned to flower too early. I can still see through much of the canopy, but at some point this need to be finished so I can start a grow with good seeds and more experience right from the start.

Dialed back the nutrients (every second feeding still is water+Lemonjuice only) after seeing some limegreen/burnt leavetips on plant #2. The tips on #3 we're also getting brighter and its serrations we're standing up from the leaves all over the plant (sawtoothing I think its called). Since the sawtoothing is not limited to the upper growth I think its something related to nutrients and not light/wind-burn. The trellisnetting allowed me to keep plant #2 at 50cm while #3 catched up to over 45cm with the tops of the 4 upper flowers. In the process #2's tops got stretched over the full width of the tent, almost mainlined. I try my best at curving them inwards again to mitigate some of the stretch right now, but at some point the only way will be up.👆 Learning a lot about how pliable the plant is. In retrospect I could have topped #2 two or even three times instead of once. #3 is really going into flower this week, while #2 hasnt gotten the memo yet. After 12 days of 12/12 there are no white pistils, except some really tiny ones in the pre-flower bracts at the nodes.

Going good, a little defoliation here and there for better light penetration, every few days a fanleave or two. Also removed lower budsites with more remaining per branch the higher up the branch is. Did also just add another 2 20w-LEDs (SJ Cosmorrow Bloom with 2100k, 6500k and 660nm) in parallel 18cm to the left and right of the GCx-Solo Bar. Main reasons for this: better lighting of the square growing area and I didnt like the fact that only 2/3 of the total electricity went into lighting, now its 80%. Resulted in a bit of a wonky build where the new lights are attached to the GCxSolo by bamboo-sticks and some wire, but it'll do for this grow. Also had to cut up, extend and resolder the cables, because the Y-section (a single powersupply for both SJ 20w lights) was not long enough to allow me to space them 36cm apart as they are now. Havent done wiring in some time and am checking the newly soldered connections for warmth or anything, but I think I did a good job isolating everything with heatshrink tubing and isolating tape. I guess just into flower is pretty much the latest point where one can upgrade the lights and expect to see results from it. Im kinda happy with how I managed the canopy. The lowest buds are only 23cm and 18cm below the uppermost ones for #2 and #3, and most of them are getting good light as well. #3's buds are getting a kinda lemony smell, I like it.

Need to keep raising #3 to keep up with #2's immense stretching right now. Apart from that its going good, #3's flowers are gettintg really frosty and sticky already. They smelling of peach and citrus 😋 First pistils changing from white to orange On Day 79: #2 at 70cm height. #3 at 50cm + standing on 15cm box. Since #3 also isnt really growing anymore and #2 is stretching a lot atm I'll see if I have to raise up #3 even more to keep them somewhat even. Got a bit over 20cm more headroom so everything should fit in the end.

Going along nicely, gave the first full set of flower nutrients with the first watering this week. I think (and hope) #2 is finally slowing its stretch. Snapped a top on her when trying to bend it, but easily repaired it with medical tape, and seems to do fine even though it was only hanging on a thread.😅 Severely bend/supercropped another one that I also taped up and tied down. Some nights humidity is reaching up to 70%, but not much I can do about that apart from opening or closing the window. Hope the weather will play nice and the air exchange is enough #3 sits comfy at about 50cm, had to incerease her elevation form 14 to 18 and now 24cm to keep up with #2 at a little over 80cm.

#2 Is now really getting into flower development with many bud sites that get good light due to the plants stretchiness and thin leaves, definetly a very sativa looking strain. Still almost no smell, but more and more visible trichomes. Also seems to put a lot into the buds, with many fanleaves rapidly yellowing. Decided to give her two times nutes this week and see what happens. Shes got a lot of budsites and thin leaves, so this seems logical to me. But the buds are not developed enough to stop giving nutes I guess. #3 Is getting more and more orange pistils and trichomes, from now on she only gets water+lemon juice for ph. Still smelling very fruity (peach) but the lemon is developing a stronger sting over time. A little bit of pine resin as well. 😙 Her buds are getting thicker as well. Shes much further into flower than #2 yet only now her leaves start to look a little brighter. At this stage im alright with signs of senescence. Cut off a little sample on D94. Probably a little early but wanted to see how "a little early" tastes, also lets me get a feeling for the drying process. The sample had a wet weight of 2.85g and is dried at 60-62%rh. Also I am interested how the buds right where I made the cut develop these last few days of the grow now that they get all the light and nutes that went to the top before.

#2 going on alone in the tent. Hope her Buds fatten up a bit more, but lots of trichomes already. The smell ist still more subtle of lime and a little Gas. Am on vacation for a week and could only arrange for someone to water her once after 4 days. Guess she is ok, but I was told that the leaves are quite yellow already. Will have to check up on that once I am back.

Well. Being away for a week isnt the most favourable of conditions. She was watered only once after 4 days. Many yellow and dead leaves, bud got a bit thicker but surely arent finished yet. Also I seem to have fucked up the programming of the fimer, so she had 60hours of continuous light till day 111. That will have contributed to her condition. Last watering with nutes in D115, only water from now on.

Is it foxtailing? Dont know wether its just a lanky genetic, or too much wind or even light. Very airy "see-through" Buds

I think it is indeed foxtailing. Foxtailing is most of the time genetics but I don't know what your strain is exactly. Btw I think you are feeding a bit too much because they are showing nutrient burn. Good luck with the rest of your grow.

Buds are still growing larfy and looks like foxtailing. I guess the genetic wasnt the best from the start, also I had the fan blowing onto the buds from 30cm away. The other plant took that fine, this one might not have loved that so I changed that up as well. The climate wasnt perfect the last weeks with high temps and humidity in the tent + the 60h light incident. I am happy that she still pulls through and will provide a good harvest, no matter the looks of the buds. Otherwise the buds look frosty and smell good, but on lower intensity. Stopped feeding any nutrients a few days ago, trichomes look mixed with a few amber but still too many clear ones, I guess harvest in a week.

With this my first grow comes to an end (almost). This was definetly the more complicated plant of the two, much stretchier growth, looser buds and a tendency to foxtailing toward the end. Still the buds are frosty and have an stinging and herbal/piny smell. On the other hand the took a loot of abuse, when I tried to bend her down to even have a chance of giving light to a verly large and small plant at the same time. There still is the #1 plant in a garden, that is just starting to flower. If she gets to harvest I will give an update as well.

#1 is still alive and well in her Outdoor home. Semi-Outdoor by now, she only gets out on sunny days and spends the nights inside, since its getting quite wet and cold. I hope she can finish well despite low light conditions, the buds look like they have quite a few weeks to go. Defoliated about 120 little bud sites about week 20 and yet there are buds everywhere. Really interesting to see the difference to a indoor plant. On warm days the smell is more intense and reminds me of sweet grapes and honeydew melon.

#1 Is mostly inside due to cold and wind. But still gets some sun gere and there. Got its last feeding this week. The small pot only seems to contain roots by now. Also let me introduce: #1 Junior I cut 2 clones back in July, 11 Weeks back. They were really slow to recover, no roots after a week in water so I stuck them in LightMix. Some 2-3 Weeks later they started growing. One was gifted away and one I kept. I topped mine twice. They both entered flower about 2 weeks ago. I repotted mine with LightMix, some organic pellets with 3-2-5 NPK and lots of coffee grounds and some ash. Repotted very recently into a fabric pot with almost unused soil from an Automatic became available. Since the clone tended to look a just little sickly (light green on upper growth) in the small plastic pot (Automatic did not like small plastic pot either) so I recycled that pot. Im sure she'll recover, just like the Automatic did before.
