nowayReggie introduces to GrowDiaries Ulalena!
This will be my second time growing Ula as we call her. It was a pleasure watching her grow the first time and we hope you enjoy this journal.
Shoutout to Hawaiian Budline with blessing us with seeds from the Ziplock Seeds team.
Seriously, a wonderful collective they got over at deepgreengentics.com
Last time we only used the Coast of Maine Line and regular - non PH'd water under 1 SF-1000 and got results that we were extremely happy with.
This time we will be running drip Hydro Nutrient line. We were introduced to this line at a 2022 convention by the GrowGeneration Team and we have been impressed with the results we've gotten in just one run!
I couldn't give you an actual amount of savings... im sure you could D.Y.O.R. and find out the comparison for the line you're running.
What I CAN say is... I'm not stingy on nutrients anymore and no longer stretch the watering's because I don't feel as though I'm flying through them! Which my plants are loving! Sooo Major Plus..
If you look through the pictures you can get an idea of the levels.
I dont ph the water and it has NOT EFFECTED plant health AT ALL... I'm sure if I keep track this time and did another run with Ph'd water I'm sure yields would be better.
Here we Go!
Ula popped fast![Again]
I Will be adding TO 5 GAL FABRIC POT
Coast of Maine:

Had a power outage today (6.24).... no problem a little window treatment could help.
6.26 - 4 inches of grow in 2 days! WOW!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nowayReggie
watering with non-PH'd water with drip Hydro week 4
SF-1000 = 60%
When the top set of fan leaves get so large that they are blocking out the other bud sites I cut just the top two leaves
Will move into larger tent next week
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nowayReggie
we moved these two into the larger tent.
moved the light away from the plants to get move even coverage
G-3000 =20-25%
THEY SUPER STINK ALREADY.
overwatered... so we did not water for the week
I wanted to wait to flip to flowering until i had to water again. Its been about a week and a half with no signs of stress.[AT ALL]
7.16 - 8 pm watered each plant with two gallons of water - drip hydro nutrient schedule week 1 flower.
7.17 - 8 am first time day of flower for 12 hour cycle
7.18 - After the first day its pretty incredible to watch these plants grow.
7.19 - G-3000 = 45-50%
- Humidity = 70%
Temp= 81 F
week 8
The smaller of the two plants was a Male.
- If you look through the picks you can clearly see the sacks.
removed immediately and did not transfer pollen.
Not too worried that i had to cut one down. The female is going to get huge with all this space.
I am a little concerned though about the height. The stretch thus far has been much more impressive than the first time growing "Ula"
------------------------------------------------------------
nowayReggie
It's looking like I may need stakes for support.
The pre flowers are starting to show and the smell is starting to begin to catch an aroma..
7.31
Gotta shoutout Gottagrowsometime
Rotating the plant every few hours has shown improvements.
Quality grow tip for sure.
8.3
At this rate I feel like Ula is going to outgrow my grow space vertically
8.6
Week 4 of flower and the feeding schedule changes slightly.
Ula Has been growing and stretching out of this world!
8.7.
light Defoliation. Only LARGE fan leaves blocking bud sites.
8.8
Had to string main stem to one of the corners of the tent as it was already leaning (HARD) to one side.
8.14
Top Cola has grown through the light spacing.
The top cola as well as the branches have more connected and fuller bud sites.
Very impressed with how this grow has progressed.
Week 5 feeding schedule drip hydro
8.15
Today, had to take the light off of the adjustable clips and hung it directly from those things that look like cliff hanger harness holders but tell you dont use for cliff hanging...yeah those...
to give me a few more inches away from the canopy. Hopefully, I have weathered the stretch, which was beyond impressive.
Sadly, as I did not act fast enough --- that top nug did suffer some light damage. Less than you would imagine but enough to be noticeable. Honestly, the bud density from the lower and inner branches easily make up for that little pinch..
That Ula smell is in its very beginning phase.
Buds are already forming nice and dense.
Will need to support branches soon.
Watering a gallon every other day.
recap:
humidity has been higher than normal the whole grow.
Up to this point, have only had one day that the plant showed droopiness from lack of water.
Have not trained this plant and I have not done a hack and whack job on this plant. Both are firsts.
-Hindsight, I would have trained branches down.
8.21
WILL trelis today! Its an absolute must.
Ula has a VERY NICE AROMA. Sweet Orange/Citrus Scent. VERY VERY PLEASANT.
Trichomes are starting to build up onthe leaves.
Last Week on this ratio of nutrients.
Next week we remove the CaMg and boost the FLEX! (lol) take it easy Reggie!
8.22
First time using a trelis!
Ula seems happy again.
Should have watered today but ran out of time.
8.23
Plant was a little droopy, watered!
8.24
Ula is happy once again. There are a couple the colas are so heavey the branches cant support them.
8.26
Ula has a nice piney - definite citruis(orange) smell coming out of the tent
The trelis has been a major success
We are now coming down the home stretch.
watered with week 7 feeding schedule - no more CaMg

This is the finaly week of feeding!
Buds are extremely dense.
Pleasant smell of citrius.
Hairs have been turning orange. Hopefully they will turn more during the flush.
-if not, I may just need to let it go a little longer.
Plant began to lean more so tied it to a second pull for more stablility
Spiderfarmer G-3000 has been on 80% {thats the max the light runs}
9.9
Buds are super dense. Cant wait to see the numbers weighed in

NO LESS than 70% and this girl has handled it beyond well!
9.13
Flushed with a final 5 gals.

Ok first, To EVERYONE who took time out of their day to check out this grow journal THANK YOU SO MUCH! It most certainly is an honor.
This grow and every grow going forward I AM going to be ALL-IN... I want to show respect to the Strain i'm growing and respect to the breeder that brought quality genetics to my tent.
I definetly dont want be disapoint you by coming through to this grow and it being weak.
This is my second time growing Ulalena, first on Growdiaries.
I have to say the Tri-fecta of drip hydro, upgraded G3000 light, and the accountability that comes with having a community behind you really pushed the final product to New Highs.
The final results of this harvest will speak for themselves.
A childhood friend gave me Jorge Cervantes- MARIJUANA HORTICULTURE The Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible
It came in handy for sure.
GrowTip pg 89. "cut branchs like a "hook"" ------ that tip saved me SOOO MUCH TIME.... THIS HARVEST trimming and manicuring.
I am unable at this time to give you a proper wet weight. I will update the final total DRY weight. I am also certain it will be a record setting mark. Any guesses? [comment below]
I could not control the humidity or the temperature this entire grow. Temps stayed in the range of 79-82 with temperatures reaching as high as 89 [three days max and nor consecutive]{entire grow}
I did NOT PH my water this entire grow. Plant health did NOT show any signs of stress or deficiency as a result.
Smells at harvest were of orange and citrus with a fruity[like champange] smell. Its a high pitched smell. Very pleasant aroma.
Its what I would imagine Hawaii smelled like.
Thank you Hawaiian Budline for bringing this Strain to nowayReggies tent.
ZIPLOCK SEEDS = QUALITY 💯
Again! Thank you for your time growdiaries. I will bring updates with the final weight and smoke report after the cure.
AND, I PROMISE... i wont pinch any off early!
