Day 1: 14.06.2023 - Put three seeds in a glass of water. Waiting for them to sink to the bottom. Once completed: Transfer to a damp paper towel and leave in an air-tight sealed jar for 24 hours.
Day 2: 15.06.2023 - Seeds are yet to sink to the bottom of the glass of water.
Day 3: 16.06.2023 - INTRODUCED PAPER TOWEL METHOD: It came to my attention that if the seeds are just slightly tapped, they sink to the bottom. However, if you bring them up to the top again, they will remain afloat. At the time, I was not aware that this is common practice, so I took out 2 of the 3 seeds and placed them in a damp paper towel in a ziplock bag, for 24 hours. Once 24 hours had passed, the two seeds had developed strong roots. The seed left in the glass of water however had still not developed a root. When I took them (the two seeds) out, I then placed them on a Seed Starting Soil Pod and watered them so that the soil pod can expand. It is very important that they are placed root down, not facing up). One of the seeds was placed in a plastic egg carton and the other was placed in a closed airtight jar (see photos for reference).
Day 4: 17.06.2023 - After leaving the 2 of 3 seeds to develop and grow from the soil pods for 24 hours, the one in the plastic egg carton had shown clear signs of growth. The seed in the air-tight jar looked like it was slightly overwatered, so I left the jar open overnight so that the pod can dry up a bit.
Day 5: 18.06.2023 - Overnight, the seed in the plastic egg container continued to grow. The slightly overwatered soil pod which was in the airtight glass jar dried up a bit, from being left open throughout the night. In the morning I took the jar outside for the first hour of sunlight of the day so that it continues to dry. After an hour I got it back inside and closed the jar again.
Where would you plant the third seed? A plastic egg carton, a sealed jar, or somewhere else?
