All of the seedlings sprouted after a 18 hour soak in water and after 3 days germinated directly into soil. Soaked on 4/29 and all emerged on 5/2 (what I'm calling Day 1) and straightened out quickly on 5/3!
All within a 4x4 grow tent under a 1000w HPS for the whole grow, in varying sizes of fabric pots (3/5 gallons).
Using FFOF or Nectar for the Gods Soil - will be using NFTG as my nutrients once these babies are ready.
Beginning of Week 2 and the seedlings have been taking off and loving the 1000 HPS - been trying to move it a bit closer and the majority of the seedlings are praying up to the sun taking it in. Been struggling with dry soil so have been watering the smaller pots every other day or so (one-two inch down dry.)
Sour Livers is definitely the MVP here with some major latitude side branching and growth, while my 3 Bears OG seems to be struggling with bumpy leaves and some splotchy yellow at the end.
Week 3 and the plants have exploded! Fantastic side branching and overall great growth looking healthy and green.
The 3 Bears OG, on the other hand, has seemed to struggle out the gate and doesn't look like it will be healthy. I will continue to grow it but remove from all future updates unless it makes a miraculous recovery. What do you guys think, kill it now or let it grow?
Plants are exploding with pre-flowering as we go into week 4 - started to up my nutes to half strength according to the directions in the Oregon's Only sample kit. Plants are really starting to show their unique characteristics (bushy, tall, short, branchy, etc.)
Now that the days are getting warmer I have an ideal temp of 77 lights on and 64 lights off. Humidity is stable around 55-65.
Week 5, Day 27 and flowering has been in full swing for about a week now - starting to see a bit of droop as these plants get bigger and bigger each day - will do flower nutes next watering within the next week or so otherwise I'll get to watering on Day 28 or so with plain pH'd water.
Hi all - been awhile since I had an update but things are definitely moving around, but maybe not as ideally as I had wished!
I don't think I did a great job watering or supplementing as over the last couple weeks I've had massive yellowing of leaves (even some crisping) with purple leaf stems. Not sure if the 1000w in the 4v4 (even with a 700 CFM fan) is too intense of a light in the space, even though the temperature fluctuates between 60-75 each day.
That said, I did massive clipping of the yellowed leaves and some LST to let the ladies breathe a bit and hopefully make a good recovery.
The good news i that the new growth and flowers seem to be doing just fine, so hopefully it was just a small bump here at Day 40.
HELP!
Just trimmed off dead and yellowed leaves about 2 days ago and peeked into the grow room this morning to find previously (relatively) green leaves starting to yellow!
I admit weeks back I probably wasn't that good with Nitrogen feeding;however, now Week 7 into flowering (day 44) should I be worried or is this type of yellowing normal at this stage?
Please give your advice, thanks!
Day 50 is here!
Starting to get some solid brown pistils along with leaf yellowing - even though as I admitted before I was light on the nitrogen in the past few weeks.
Temps are around 72 - 80 during the 20 hour cycle and wish I could get them lower along with the humidity (~65%) but its been more difficult to control both in my basement and with the varying hot and rainy days outside here in the Northeast.
Will provide a more more detailed update with photos this weekend -but the ladies are putting on some serious weight and frost.
Are the crispy leaves due to too much light / heat? been in the 72-81 range.
Short, compact plant with dense buds and a wonderful aroma - nothing too stinky and almost more floral. Harvesting at 66 days so a pretty quick grow all things considered. Didn't suffer as much leaf burn and yellowing as my mother staring, yet I could have been more liberal with the nutrients early on in the grow. (nitrogen especially) - gotta wait for the cure before the full strain score and details. Thanks Mephisto love your stuff!
Day 81 and its harvest time again! Really pushed this one late to get full cloudy coverage and a decent amount of amber throughout. This was a freebie seed that I didn't expect much from so I kinda let it do its own thing with no LST or special considerations. What a lovely surprise when this baby ended up being 20 inches tall and yielding 190 grams wet!! Not many issues here with me having to clip dads and desiccated leaves and overall seems to be a hardy strain.
One of the biggest colas in my tent (see the AA battery photo for scale) and can't wait to get her cured for an updated report and review.
Also - I just did a feeding last night as per he schedule summarized above - been doing half strength as per the NFTG schedule - should I have been doing full? I had a nitrogen claw a couple weeks back when doing half strength so I've been conservative here.
@CANNASIM, appreciate you taking the time to review my details - I haven't recorded PPM much so you can't rely on my numbers. I think I didn't do a great job watering and that didn't help - using NFTG so wondering why I'm having Cal / Mg issues. Thanks again for your feedback!
@cptpwnzor, Check the trichomes bro, to see how much time the bigger ones have! 👍
I have checked your diary from the beginning to try and understand why are they yellowing so much, from week 5 you have this pronounced issues, my first take is related to water, which looks like over water lock in the minerals, a cal mag can help, along with regulating water frequency and if you fluctuate the PH less keeping it more steady it can help too. PPMs look low too, but I honestly don t know the nutes line you are using! Happy growing! 👍
The sample kit of NFTG just arrived on my doorstep yesterday and I am thinking about using it on my next seedling, Mephisto Skywalker in FFoF. Look forward to seeing how these girls turn out, good luck with them.
@BigDaddyK, haha thanks! Not my first rodeo and I have an 8" 740 CFM fan and don't have trouble keeping temps between 70-72 as it's in my basement.
How are the NCH doing? I have two going right now. Two different phenos. One is 43" tall around day 50, and the other is at 33" same age. One sativa leaning, and the other indica. I'd love to see some pics. Great looking ladies so far!!
Top cola is looking like nice, like pine tree! 👍 ph could be too low, 6.3 - 6.5 is best in soil, try to give them less water at the time, not flooding, so it will dry faster too 1-5 days is ideal.
