She is going good this week. I thought she would be further along in flower at this point, but she is definitely flowering just going a bit slower than expected. Pistils are popping up all over the place but no big stretch and no budlets forming just yet. She is very bushy with lots of bud sites so I think she will ultimately end up being a fat yielder! I really am feeling good about this girl just waiting for her to make the final push and starting pumping out some buds!!
Very cool ! they look so bushy !! I'm a first timer myself I was going to get some auto's but I'm not really sure how they are in comparison to a photo period plant . Maybe on my next try I'm going to do some cause these look lovely ! :D Keep up the awesome work
-Happy Growing !
@ZenBuds, couldn't agree more some benefits to both for sure. Faster and somewhat easier for Autos but a bit less room for error. Either way if you just follow the basics and don't do too much then you should be alright and end up with some fire at the end of your grow!!
@TreeTent310, in my opinion autoflowers could even make it easier for a newbie, they grow really fast and flower without flipping the light schedule. They won´t revert to vegging due to light pollution.
One thing is to make sure is you do not torture an autoflower, as you could stunt her and dramatically affect your yields.
I´m interested on autos and will be testing on the future the quality of the buds, vs photoperiod strains for which I will get seeds of popular strains and run them side by side with their auto counterparts.
@The_Projexx, thanks a lot! I bent them down early on to get the bushy shape going. I did the exact same as you and grew photo period plants my first round then did a round of autos next. I think they scare newbs away from autos by saying they can be harder etc. There definitely is less room for error as you have less time to correct any mistakes, but if your first round goes well I’d say give them a shot! Thanks again!!
Looking good, how close is your light buddy? See this alot with LEDs being to close, it throws up alot of things that look like def's when in fact the light is burning them. From your pics it looks like the shaded leaves are nice and green but the ones in the light are lighter and suffering with spotting which is quite common, another thing that would suggest light stress is if the leaves are prying up towards the light.
Good luck with the rest of your grow atb 😀
@Autobud, I actually think you are 100% right! I have never had the light up at this high wattage so I think it is too close and burning the leaves/causing the spotting etc. I just noticed it starting a tiny bit on one of my mainlines and I don't think it is nute related at all. That is when your comment came to my mind and I realized it HAS to be the light! I have since raised the light up a few more inches, the leaves are praying much less, and I think she is much happier now.
Honestly, if you hadn't suggested that being the issue I think my beautiful mainline might've ended up looking like this Gorilla Glue. Just wanted to say THANK SO MUCH!
@Autobud, thanks! I don't think that light is the issue though for her. The inner/lower leaves are darker but if I took better/closer pictures you would see that they have little brown spots as well. I am pretty sure it was a Maganese deficiency that caused this. And it all started because I watered with a broken PH pen so I was definitely off on my PH for about a week or so (at least 1 feeding). At least that is what I think happened...
She is going to make it to harvest so hopefully it all ends up being ok! Will know for certain in another week or so.
@TreeTent310, Yeah the 12/12 isn't going to help the slow progress unfortunately. I sure hope she stands tall through it all though. Best of luck. Ill be checking back for more updates surely 😎
@HighTV, thanks so much she is taking a bit longer than my last Fastbuds grow to actually produce buds but hopefully she will be worth the wait! She’s still stretching and just now forming tiny budlets the last couple days and I’m on day 49 already today. Hopefully she will fly through flower!! I have a feeling she’s definitely getting some 12/12 light once I start to flower my baby mainlines in a couple more weeks. Hopefully it doesn’t mess her up too badly...
I had the same problem with my GG with the brown spots on the leaves. Dialed in the PH a little bit and upped the calmag and the problem went away. I'm on day 87 with my GG and plan on chopping it tomorrow. Good luck!!
@JFWVT, dude it sucks but what can you do!? The bubble on my PH pen was broken and I did not notice so I definitely watered her fucked up for about a week or so and I think that is where things went wrong with her. I have a new pen and have been adjusting her PH down a bit as well as upping my Cal Mag. The leaves that were bad are still bad but the issues is not spreading as quickly and buds are still getting fat so I think she will be ok in the long run. I am at 80 some days right now as well. I think she still has about a week or so left before she is ready to go. Just happy she is making it to the finish line at this point.
Thanks for the advice! Hopefully we can both avoid these maganese problems in the future!
Ph absorbs different nutrients at different ranges. Maganese availability increases as soil ph decreases. Maganese toxicty is common in acidic soils below 5.5 ph. On the other hand Maganese deficiency is most common in soils above 6.5 ph. Water her heavy with just water til you get some runoff. Test you'd run off waters ph to determine your soils ph then adjust accordingly.
@AutoKing, thanks for the info! I will definitely try and lower the PH a bit on the next few waterings. I think she is starting to balance out a bit. The fucked up leaves are obviously still fucked, but it seems to have stopped spreading to new leaves at least, and the buds seem fine as well as they are still fattening up daily. So we will see how she finishes up. Hopefully it doesn't mess up her yield too badly.
Thanks again for the advice! I will definitely try moving forward with her and hopefully she responds well!
@Fast_Buds, thank you and thanks for the sweet prizes from the giveaway as well! I’m going to grow those next round for sure....Pineapple Express and Cream Cookies! Can’t wait!!
This girl is going good so far. She is bushing out like crazy, not much stretch happening though, she’s a real short & bushy one!
Looks great. Our FastBuds ladies are about the same age. :)
Looking forward to see how yours turn out. Very impressive showing on those secondary growth sites!
@samadhi, thanks so much! I expect her to stretch out quite a bit more in the next week or so. Pistils are just barely starting to show up right now we should be in flower soon!
