Live from Portland, OR.
Indoor, Hp LED, Co2 enrichment, SCROG.
Strain: (Oregon Diesel x Timewreck) AKA Tardis
Five Regular Seeds, local farm claims more stable genetics as opposed to feminized.
Let’s see if that holds true.
Tent: 5x5 Apollo (amazon)
Nutrients/Soil: (organic)
1. Ascorbic Acid (chloramine killer for tap water, & lowers ph of my 8.2 tap water.)
2. Natural pH up (just in case)
3. Nature’s Living Organics Super Soil (subcool’s tweaked recipe)
4. FF Ocean Forrest and Light Warrior
5. Tea brews with guano and HiBrix plant molasses for flowering if needed
Start Pot: .3 L Air pots.
Bottom Quarter—FF Ocean Forrest Soil
Mid half—Ocean Forrest/LightWarrior 50/50
Top Quarter—LightWarrior
Light Warrior retains moisture extremely well due to its Pete moss composition.
END Pot: 25 L Hercules pots
Bottom Third: 1 lb of NLO Super Soil for every 1.5 gallons Ocean Forrest. HOT.
Mid Third: Transition .25 lb NLO super Soil for every 1.5 gallons Ocean Forrest
Top Third: 3:1 Occean Forrest : Light warrior
Light: Timber Grow Lights.Vero v7 redwood. 600w for 6 LED Cobs, dimmable.
Will probably supplement clamp on CFLs for side lighting in flower
Fan: 240 cfm 6” duct fan hooked to carbon filter
Co2: I will be documenting all my strategies here. At ~5 nodes I will implement Co2.
Regulator: Titan controls 120v
Monitor: Autopilot APC820 with infrared probe
Tank: 20 lb
I will be using weather stripping to seal my room. One door, one window. The tent will be duct taped along all potential seems like zippers. Slow release from tent is expected, hence the sealed grow environment. I will be doing experiments with recirculating the Co2 back to the tent using ducting and a duct fan. This I’ve never tried.
SCROG:
At about 2+ feet above pot level. Using a stretchy cargo net, like one you’d find in the trunk of a nice car. Easy to get on amazon for the right dimension and no weaving.
Tons of updates to come.
I have not yet begun using recharge, no reason yet. The babies are still 6 days old and have everything they need in the ocean Forrest light warrior mix. I did experiment briefly with my co2 system. I saw a nice result after a 12 hour co2 cycle, leaving my system on for only 2 hours, the co2 level stayed consistent! I did notice that in my sealed tent, I will actually need to increase humidity for high co2 temperatures. At 86 degrees F, relative humidity must be about 75% to stop water loss, otherwise plants don’t fully open their stomata. The ideal vapor pressure differential is key to having big indoor plants, not your light. Even at 73 degrees, relative humidity ideally should be around 65-60%, and I am barely able to keep 50% with the windows open. I am waiting for my little humidifier to come in the mail, it will solve all the issues with low humidity and dry air. Only in late flower, would it be at all adviseable to drop humidity below 60%, and that’s if you suspect bud rot. Otherwise, 60% humidity at 73 degrees will created the best VPD for plant respiration, just like you and I breathe O2, plants breathe Co2, and unfortunately for them humidity can have a huge impact on how much they breathe. Imagine how you would function breathing half oxygen?
Plants are super healthy. I have bloom city organics ready to go just in case the plants don’t reach super soil adequately. Haven’t added nutrients once yet, Ocean Forrest doing absolute work. I have transplanted them Into their super soil pots, they outgrew their 1L airpots in 14 days. No shock just picked back up. One super soil pot is mixed with strawberry fields rather than ocean Forrest, time to compare fox farms souls against one another.
Plants have been topped.. Technicaly, they are 21 days old as I do not count day 1 until I see green leaves on the little cotedylon leaves. I have added Humboldt seed’s Amherst sour diesel to the party along with frost boss, who is not pictures because it is too small. Humboldt diesel is 14 days behind Oregon Diesel, AKA Tardis because of its time wreck cross. I reckon the plants will get huge now, time to wait and see.
SCROG is in effect. Topping has been a big success. I will be vegging until Humboldt Diesel catches up to a decent size with the Tardis (Oregon diesel x timewreck). Should flip the light’s in an about 2 weeks.
I think all weed can give you dry mouth, and it was not my experience this time around. I will say that this high set in kind of slow, but there’s an initial stimulation that kind of jump starts your energy level. The euphoria that does hit you peaks after about 30 minutes. After a few hours I finally felt a little more sleepy and sluggish, the typical effects of THC for me. I think the THCV content of this cannabis makes it an option for exercise and creative activitis, maybe not focused one’s though. I couldn’t sit still at first!
