They were germinated on a paper towel and then put in 1 litre seedling bags filled with pure coco. Quarter strength bottled H & G nutes. Keeping them under the 65W, 5500K CFL bulb
No issues at all, I watered them to run off the first time today. All three seedlings look great and are ahead of my typical grows at this stage. They will be moved to the flowering space in a week or so.
My grow space is tiny so keeping them all low - one topped, all three tied down. Temps, humidity, nutrients all in the range. The stretch should start soon.
Things going great in the tent.
The canopy is nice and even, with the plants now filling the space under the lights (sorry, radishes). There are numerous secondary shoots with budsites fully exposed to the light. Will let them stretch now - with 0.5m worth of spare headroom I should not get overrun.
My feeding regime through the grow is as follows. They start in 1 litre seedling bags filled with pure coco (buffered etc). The feed is quarter strength H & G salts with calmag. Around day 20 they get moved to 3 gallon grow bags with a jacket of coco plus blended organic amendments 2-6-6. They still get watered with salts, at this stage half strength, to 15% runoff. Around week 2 of flower I start reducing the salts dosage and the last month is just pH water (no runoff). So they finish on the nutrients from the P and K heavy amendments in the bags.
One thing to be aware of is that, after transplant, the seedlings need time to grow roots into the volume of soil in the jacket so best water into the mouth of the seedling bag. After a week or so switch to watering mainly the jacket, to encourage root migration. The previous grow I got things wrong and the plants had a wobble. As you can see in the pics, absolutely no issues this time
Three slightly different phenos by the look but of similar internodes and overall size. This is one reason why I went with a single strain grow - to get a better canopy. The buds are forming nicely. Will give them the PK shot next week and start transition to pH water soon after
A remarkably problem free grow so far - and not much to go wrong from here on.
This week all three plants were getting their P/K fix. The one hard left is maybe three weeks short of the harvesting window and will only see pH water from now on. The other two plants are a week behind.
The grow is on the final stretch, with no issues to report. The plant on the left now on pH water, the other two in their last week on salts.
We cut some tester buds last night and dried them on the lights. The stuff is smooth to smoke and has a beautiful, soaring sativa high. Not bad for buds cut before 9 weeks I would say!
We ran out of stash and had to start harvesting the ripe colas in week 9. Staged harvest normally produces better quality mid/low buds so looks like the total yield will be reasonable - over two Oz's per plant. All plants are now on pH water.
I have to go overseas so this is probably the last weekly update. All three plants were an absolute breeze to grow in every way. If you are after a top-notch auto sativa look no further.
Another grow nearly finished - and it was a good one. 3/3 germination, no issues during the grow and a generous harvest of quality buds. Not the easiest plants to train - the stems go woody early - but far from the worst. Excellent side branching with lots of budsites.
Now the blaze. So we only sampled early cuts of the top colas, dried in an overnight cycle, no cure. The smoke is surprisingly smooth with a pleasant mix of flavours.
The high is already very good and also exactly what we expected of a sativa dominant hybrid. Soaring, expansive, perception enhancing and of good duration. A light body hit but may get stronger later in the harvest window. We have not yet sampled the long flowering pheno which should be more haze-like than blueberry.
So yeah, along with the G13 auto dosi, it is my new favourite strain to grow indoor. I cannot see how any sativa lover would be disappointed with it.
Wow buddy!! super nice buds
What an amazing grow so far - good job and well done 🤝
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱
