Mid Week - 17/10/23
Many many bud sites!
There are bud sites that are not getting much light because branches are too closely packed.
Decided to do a little LST on the girls to open them up. I chose LST over removing the bud sites because i figured it would be less stressful during flower.
The stem that snapped healed so well! the Kushy Rooting Gel was pretty effective!
Will continue to update
Friday - 20/10/23
Girls have responded well to the LST, there are more bud sites open to the light and both girls are flowering really well.
President 47 makeup is 40% Indica / 60% Sativa
AK Pheno 1 is technically 3 weeks older since she was germinated first, AK pheno 2 was an impulsive decision to germinate the last President 47 Seed I had.
The 3 week difference made a huge impact on the size of the two girls, AK pheno 1 is noticeably larger especially since starting her flower stretch.
AK Pheno 2 has a different structure to AK pheno 1 - Pheno 2 is not showing as much stretch as Pheno 1 and the internodal spacing is much shorter.
AK Pheno 1 seems to have a lesser leaf to flower ratio forming, with AK Pheno 2 looking like there might be more leaves - but both have many bud sites and developing nicely.
This weeks feed with bloom was increased from 1.5ml/L to 2.5ml/L - The Symbionics Molasses feed was kept at 2ml/L
Only fed once each this week. Symbionics on tuesday and Bloom on friday. 2 - 3 days in between, depending on moisture levels, will be a regular watering with pH lowered to ~5.8pH as directed by the nutrient feed.
Soil pH seems to remain in the 6.1 - 6.3 range.
Really enjoying the humidity levels staying in the 50s and not having to do much to regulate it because of the warm spring weather, keeping the levels below 55% eliminates the chances of bud rot forming.
So far so good! I'm excited to see these girls through the next few weeks as they grow.
Mid week update.
Think this week will be the official first week of flower, pistils started showing yesterday and are all over today. Will post week update this weekend.
My clones of the two AK phenos are showing small root development, perhaps this weekend I will begin transplanting them for the outdoor season.
Today will be a regular mid week pH balanced watering only. Only feeding them nutrients once a week, after 3 weeks I will slowly ramp up the strength. Warm weather is creating a nice not too humid environment within the tent, perfect conditions for flowering
Thanks to all you awesome people that clarified the grow for me. I just needed that third party guarantee that I'm pushing in the right direction and can only say I'm SUPER EXCITED to get these lights installed. Hope my girls will be as happy as I am but of course they will be!
mid-week update, the snapped stem on the AK Pheno 1 seems to be holding out well. there is hardly any wilting if any at all and it has been 3 days.
mid-week feed with just plain water and pH lowered to 6.0.
End of the week will be another 1ml/L Bud Juice Boom Bloom feed. Will probably continue this weekly for a few weeks and slowly ramp up to 3ml/L. First time using these nutrients.
Will also start with the Bud Juice Symbionics Molasses and Sugars additive after pre-flower shows. Says this can be used during veg but I would think the molasses and sugars benefit the plants more during flower?
Still no signs of pre-flower. But only day 3 of their 12/12 cycle.
The Lychee sapling I'm trying to rescue has new growth starting in 3 different places! Looks like I've managed to pull the little guy back to life! will be pretty cool to have Lychees in a couple of years :D
