A dozen regular seeds going into this grow. This an experimental demo run for a friend to compare a carefree stressed outdoor run to a more controlled indoor run. Using local no name hydroponic nutes Dropped into water Oct. 1 and took the best 12 into the system First time using this SF G12. It’s not bad but I’m going to put in an airstone in the tank

First week vegging these seedlings required two changes to start feedings. Unfortunately they got a small shock due to too high a feeding but they are starting to recover. Lowered the light to cut down with the stretching. Average conditions for the week. 90°F/80%

Seedlings seem to have recovered and responded well to nutrient change. Seem to be having some kind of deficiency. Preparing some coco coir for the next transplant and will buffer. Hopefully feeding after the transplant will help fix the issue.

2nd CANNA CoCo, I use their bricks, once expanded with hot water give it a rinse to bring down the EC. It sits aorund 1.2 for me but I use tap and my tap water is around 0.5EC on the normal. Good Luck!

I looked at your diary. Your 1st issue is your ph of 6.2 needs to be 5.8. It's lock out over 6.2. You can use your solution they are growing in now to buffer it for cal mag. But it will be needed the whole grow. Coco/perlite grows are 5.8 ph in and 5.8 ph out for best results. Heavy irrigation grow. It is to never dry out, but never sitting in run off either. I have grown in coco for years. Feel free to dm me if you need more help.

1.0-1.5 EC regular feed with some calmag is what I did when I didn’t trust the coco I was getting Soaked for couple hours Found Canna coco to be the best coco out there so far

Seedlings started to respond after nutrient change. Roots really grew this week and toward end of week transplanted to 16oz solo cups Buffered coco coir and initially received readings of 1.1 in the runoff. Rinsed coco three more times to bring it down to .1 and used that to put the seedlings in. Now comes some careful hand feeding to continue this root grow for the next transplant.

How do growers handle runts? Do you toss them out or encourage them and grow them out?

i sow more than i need so i can easily remove the weakest plants. depends on the space you are filling. if you can fill it well with just the strong ones, i wouldn't put in extra effort on weak ones -- without adding any vege time to fill empty space, of course. Time is always part of the consideration. if you got more coverage than expected plant growth, keep it all... The true dwarves can be thrown out. they look retarded before long and easy to spot.

Another warm week and it was a little challenge keeping humidity down and trying to get the environment settled. The seedlings have hardened up nicely and become accustomed to the coco cups This week goals are to setup automatic feeding to really get the growth going!

Culled a few plants from the garden that didn’t have the growth I’m looking for. Now growing in this new environment I think we’ve got the variables and the equipment “dialed in”. Plants a finally in that good growth spurt stage. Some have had that great look of shooting out big leaves.

More vigorous growth this week as the plants are enjoying the environment. Topped a few to encourage that bushy growth. Just plucked only the yellowest leaves. Other that some topping here and there, these plants have been untouched. This is my first attempt at a pheno hunt have led to the culling of a number more of seedlings. The ones left are the best of the bunch This is the last week of veg, on to the flower room

A week of consistent feeding and not much taking pics. These have really taken root in the solo cups and have grown. It’s time to transplant to the final 2gal fabric pots. The roots look decent. Always striving for more bigger roots
