So far so good! Everything is going as normal and is on track. Lesson learned this grow, turn light on as soon as the 1st seed pops up. I was
cautious about turning on the light and allowed the other 3 seeds to pop up 1st. Doing that made the 1st seed to pop get a little taller than wanted.
I still consider this "seedling" stage, not week one of veg. I feel like it will be another week before i consider it in veg stage. First time transplanting 1" rockwool into 4" rockwool. So far everything is going as intended and on schedule. Leaves showing good color and growth. Using these bigger rockwool has saved me on nute water. Usually at this point they are in my system. My system fully running is 5 gallon buckets and a 25 gallon res. So normally I'd be using 30-50 gallons of water at this stage, now I'm only using 2 gallons.
This week went better than all other grows of mine during this stage. Before they would be half this size, due to the roots not reaching the water in the system. The 4" rockwool has speed the stage up so much.
It did not take long, after being placed in the 4"rockwool, for the roots to make their way to the bottom. It wasn't long after that I put them into my system.
My system is a modified bubble flow buckets by supercloset. After 5 grows in their system, I have found a few things I wanted and things I didn't want. I will go into more detail on my Instagram, Hydrojohnix.
In the coming week I will decide if it is time to top. My grow style this time is changing. I plan to do a manifold/mainline style. Will be my 1st time.
This week went good. Growth still Is doubling week by week. Went and topped this week, at the 3rd node. Usually I wait the the 5th/6th nodes to top. This time I plan to top the branches too, when they get a little thicker. Currently I have 6 branches on each plant,after they are topped it will be 12 cola sites. I don't know if I will keep all branches. If I decide to only keep 4 branches on each, I will remove the extras an try to clone them
This week I decided to flip to flower. I did a major defoliate on the plants. Added my 1st layer of net and slightly pressed it down all of the branches. All the topped branches grew well. Really excited to see how the fast flowers act during this stage.
Second week of flower and haven't seen 1st sign of pistils yet. Was trying to Lst threw the stretch but the branches are pretty stiff. One branch during the lst snapped on me. I wrapped it in plastic wrap and hoping for the best. I've noticed the leaves are lighter than normal, I'm keeping a eye on it.
