Tuetenkleber Hey and welcome to the kickoff for the Zkittalicious from Exotic Seeds! After a few days in the pot, the little ones have marched towards the sun. At first glance, they look really good. Strong colors and already quite a sturdy stem for the young lady. I'm curious to see if that continues 😄. The mycorrhizal fungus should have fully established itself by now and will then enter into symbiosis with the plant as it progresses. It's always fascinating how amazing nature can be. One of the two was planted a few days later, so she's a bit behind, but that's not a big deal. Since a new lamp is coming soon, the ladies are already looking forward to it :) See you next week :)

Tuetenkleber Hey friends, curious? You might be, because the ladies have made a good leap this week. Very nice growth form and very good biomass production. The little stem has already built up quite a strong framework. So when I compare this with all the others, she definitely stands out. Lady No. 2 is also slowly catching up. She's a week behind, but is at the same stage as No. 1 was at that time. So we'll wait and see. It will surely turn out similarly. A whole 14cm in a week is also not to be underestimated. Tuetenkleber Hallo und herzlich willkommen zurück zum Wöchentlichen Update! Na, seid ihr bereit für die neuesten, aufregendsten Entwicklungen? 😁 Lasst uns gleich mit einem LAMPENUPDATE starten. Wer meine letzten Grows verfolgt hat, weiß, dass ich mit mehreren Lampen jongliert habe - Eigenbau hier, von der Stange da. Das Ganze sah aus wie ein Kabelsalat-Kunstwerk und war so unhandlich wie eine Giraffe beim Limbo-Tanzen. Eine gleichmäßige Beleuchtung der 1,44 qm war ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit. Aber haltet euch fest, Freunde, denn jetzt ist damit Schluss! 😍 Ich habe mir eine 4ch Kombilampe zugelegt. Hier sind die Fakten: 220W Growlight (hoher Blauanteil) 220W Bloomlight (hoher Rotanteil) 35W Deep Red light 35W UV Ab nächster Woche wird die Lampe mit einem schicken Controller gesteuert. Damit können wir feste Zeiten einstellen und sämtliche Parameter via App und Controller akribisch kontrollieren. Eine Lampe mit eigenem Willen, quasi. Aktuell läuft sie mit einer Leistung von 70% Growlight und 30% Bloomlight. Warum, fragt ihr? Nun, das Höhenwachstum ist momentan eher bescheiden. Wir haben eine so buschige Pflanze, dass sie sich eine eigene ZIP-Code-Nummer verdient hat. Aber da wir noch etwas in die Höhe wollen, bekommt sie eine Woche lang etwas mehr Rotlicht verpasst. Mal sehen, was das gute Stück damit anstellt, 😁. Und habt ihr das im Zelt gesehen? Es sieht aus, als hätte ich versehentlich ein Ticket in die Karibik gebucht, statt meine Pflanzen zu gießen, 😍 aber nein, das ist kein tropisches Urlaubsfeeling, 😂. Wir hatten in den letzten Grows echt Ärger mit Trauermücken. Klar, das klingt wie ein Fall für die Mückenpolizei, aber es ist tatsächlich ein ernstes Problem. Und da wir auf natürliche Methoden setzen, sind alle chemischen Mückenvernichter tabu! Die Biester ließen sich auch nicht von Neemöl beeindrucken, also musste eine clevere Lösung her. Ich habe Vogelsand besorgt, der hauptsächlich aus Quarz besteht. Wenn man das über der Erde verteilt, können Trauermücken und andere Plagegeister ihre Eier nicht in der obersten "tote Erdschicht" ablegen. Die Larven hungern und sterben einfach. Davor haben wir den Pflanzen noch eine Neemdusche verpasst. Und siehe da... alles weg! Keine Mücke mehr zu sehen. Jetzt sind wir gespannt, was der Langzeit-Test ergibt. Aber jetzt haben wir das Problem, dass ich die Erde nicht mehr sehe, um den richtigen Zeitpunkt zum Gießen abzuschätzen. Wir müssen also einen Weg finden, das Wasserbedürfnis der Pflanzen zu erkennen, ohne den Boden sehen zu können. Dazu gibt es dann nächste Woche ein Update. Da ist nämlich schon etwas in Planung, 😜. ICh habe auch ein paar Stützen für die Damen bestellt, da wir dieses Jahr auf ein Netz verzichten wollen. Sehr solide Metallstangen ragen jetzt in den Boden und können mit insgesamt 3 Ringen in 3 größen versehen werden. Somit wird das umbinden zum Kinderspiel. Und jetzt, Trommelwirbel, zur Pflanze... Die Zkittalicious macht schon sehr viel Spaß 😍 Der Stamm wird immer dicker und es ist ein wirklich sehr sehr Buschiger Wuchs. Wenn alles noch etwas dichter wächst, kann ich Diamanten dazwischen Pressen 😂 Mal sehen was passiert wenn sie eine Woche etwas mehr Rotlicht bekommt. Saftiges grün begleitet die Pflanze. Alles in allem steht sie sehr gut da. Kleine Flecken auf ein paar Blättern aber das ist nicht weiter schlimm, da die Probleme schon behoben wurden. Wir freuen uns schon auf die Kommende Woche 😋 Bis dahin 😊

Tuetenkleber Hey there, dear friends. Let's start with the updates before we get to the good stuff. Soil sensors and green thumbs: Last week, we couldn't see the soil because of the bird sand. It was like we were wearing blindfolds! But don't worry, I'm kind of a plant whisperer and I still have a good eye for when my plants are thirsty. To improve my "skills," I got myself two soil sensors that tell me what my plants need - temperature, pH level, soil temperature, soil moisture, and light intensity. It's like a fitness tracker, but for plants! After a few days, I can say: I've got a knack for watering, it's as good as having a green thumb! Goodbye, fungus gnats: Drumroll! The fungus gnat problem is history! Bye-bye, you little pests! Thanks to the bird sand method, they're pretty much gone. A 99 percent success! A few stubborn ones are still trying to take their chance, but they have no idea what's coming for them. Bird sand is just magical. It acts like a fancy coat for the soil and keeps the gnats away. And since we water from the bottom, the sand stays nice and dry and untouched. And now for the real treasure :) The baby is really a bush 😂 Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy... Tying it up feels like a jungle trip through the Amazon 😂 But the tying is progressing slowly, and we're pulling everything nicely outward. It's going to be a glorious piece. The smaller one is also doing very well, but it doesn't have that bushy growth. Maybe a different phenotype? We'll see. The smaller one has also been topped in the meantime and has handled it super well 😁 Please don't wonder why one is further along than the other. One of them was planted a week later. Tuetenkleber Light, humidifier, and power meter - the full program! Guys, hold onto your green hats because this week there was a plant upgrade festival! Here’s the whole thing in a fun and entertaining form: Upgrade 1: THE NEW LIGHT CONTROLLER Drumroll please! The light controller is finally here! I tell you, this thing is so beautiful that it upgrades the overall picture by 10,000%. With this gem, I have full control: Dimming function for all 4 channels Individual scheduling and dimming for each channel Sunrise and sunset simulation Spectrum control Temperature and humidity measurement There are many more features, but these are the really RELEVANT ones. After spending some time with the device, I’m absolutely thrilled. The operation is super easy, and once you understand the menu, the rest is a piece of cake. We now have all the data readily available on a display, including control. A dream! We will be doing quite a few experiments in the future. Stay tuned, it’s going to be exciting! Upgrade 2: THE NEW HUMIDIFIER Hello, new humidifier! With a capacity of 6.5 liters and automatic humidity control from 50 to 90%, this little guy is just great. And it’s also very quiet! It does its job really well and makes life easier not only for my ladies but for me too! Upgrade 3: THE NEW POWER METER I got power outlet meters to finally find out how much electricity is actually being used here. After 4 weeks, I will present the data to you. Thanks to these Wi-Fi outlets, I can have everything perfectly calculated, and they measure quite accurately. My phone always shows me the current consumption and load. Very handy to see what the lights are really pulling. Upgrade 4: THE NEW PALLET CONSTRUCTION Since my ladies have grown differently, they logically have different heights to the light. So, I built a small pallet construction to bring them all to the same height. Now it’s also getting a bit difficult to take photos. Let’s see how long I can still take individual photos. But now to the best part... THE BABIES 😁 These two are also growing super like their sisters. Strong green and CRAZY bushy growth. I’m going to have quite a bit of defoliating to do in a couple of weeks. We’re going to be lollipopping. Oh yeah, we’ve been in bloom since Thursday. Tuetenkleber Moin Moin dear friends and welcome back to the Last Update 2023! This week we had a very relaxed week. The modifications were well received and allow the ladies to stand nicely in the light. There’s no update for equipment or modifications this week. So we can dive straight into the plants. This week we performed the lollipopping. All the plants in the tent were trimmed quite radically. Everything that doesn't get light or is just vegetating in the lower regions was removed. All the plants handled it very well. No signs of deficiency in the entire tent!! The Zkittalicious is doing a fantastic job. It wraps around the setup beautifully like a chalice. Sturdy stems, juicy green, robust growth. Both ladies are putting on a great show just like their sisters. After the defoliation, there was finally space 😂 God, did they have a lot of greenery on them. See you next week, friends :)
