Germinated the seed in paper. Started out the plant under a house lamp until I get a proper plant light. No nutrients yet. Small pot with compost from the garden, soaked the soil and it's stayed a bit wet. Plant leaning toward lamp.

New plant grow light arrived from Amazon halfway through the week, cheap 10W as it's my first grow and can't afford more at the moment. Can always upgrade later. Soil's still pretty wet so little watering. Keeping the light close given low power. Kitchen's a bit cold where the plant's growing. Growth slowed a bit

Growth has been pretty slow still, the soil's stayed wet. Some redness has appeared on stems too. I believe the soil's staying wet from unsuitable compost with poor drainage so will look to change. The colder temperatures also aren't helping. Was hoping the new light would give a boost.

Discovered a number of tiny slugs in the soil when checking the drainage holes, they must have come from the bad outdoor compost. Ordered some cannabis specific soil and clay pebbles to resolve poor drainage, then transplanted early and completely washed off the roots to ensure slugs were gone before transplant (extreme measures). Transplanted and buried a little deeper with rooting hormone as plant had initially stretched a bit. Added coffee grounds in case of slugs, but it would went mouldy so tilled it into soil. Plant had some transplant shock for a while. Also realised despite low power, LEDs were far too close for such a small plant and stem redness and yellowish leaves were a result of light burn, so moved back and dimmed LEDs. Ordered some nutrients. Plant looking better by end of week.

Plant has started to recover from slug, drainage and light issues, and is growing again even if slowly. Temperature dropped further and for fear of it affecting growth moved plant to boiler cupboard where it's a bit warmer. Now drainage is resolved, will begin a more regular watering schedule next week. Cotyledons have turned a bit yellow.

Let the soil get dry down to the first knuckle before watering as now cautious of overdoing it, then gave the plant about 300L of water with low nutrients until some came out the drainage holes. Stem redness has improved, plant is growing more normally now so is clearly happier. Stared to reduce dimming of lights. Cotyledons have died off. 3rd set of leaves only had 3 leaflets still which is odd but may be normal. Stem looking a bit flimsy at bottom, may just be from early stress.

Not managed to take many pics this week as I've been away. Growths still a bit slow but noticeable. Removed cotyledons. Stem still a bit flimsy at bottom, but redness is almost gone.

Growth's taken off a bit while I've been away. Sets of leaves are getting progressively bigger, but still only 3 leaflets, have looked into why and it could either be genetics or light schedule; my lights only have a 16 hour timer so have been doing an extra 2 under main lights in evenings but this has been a bit erratic. Noticed a couple of fungus gnats so got a fan, also may help growth, stems (which have started to improve) and prevent fungi. Spotted a hole in the leaf (also a slight deformity), it's a one off and I don't think bug related so will just be careful not to get water on leaves when watering. Moved to full veg nute concentration, now 500ml per week watering.

Lights are up to full power. Added some extra soil as it'd compacted. Got an external timer to do proper 18h schedule in an attempt to resolve only 3 finger leaves; new set has 5! Plant is growing much better now. New leaf sets are appearing at nodes. Slightly more fungus gnats appeared, so bought and applied DE, smells terrible. A leaf on the latest leaf set is slightly deformed. I will not be using any training techniques as it's my first grow and want to see how the plant grows naturally.

Gnat population is back down to only occasional, were a few in drainage holes. Good growth, last few leaf sets have been huge, but newest is still only 5 fingers (shame last one was a bit distorted). New leaves in nodes starting to take off. First leaf set has died off, I think this is just due to age and lack of light, so I pruned them; first 2 sets stayed oddly small, maybe due to early stress. Plant now needing about a litre of water per week. Stems are now starting to become thick. Have ordered final 5 gallon pot for final transplant soon as the plant's looking a bit big in current pot. Hoping plant will reach a final height of about 3ft, but worry it will start to soon be limited by small LED lights and grow cupboard space.

Bought the plant with me for the holidays, was a little unhappy after transport but got over it quickly, now growing very well. Secondary stems are starting to develop nicely and some preflowers are starting to appear. It's a little colder here but doesn't seem to mind so far. A little damage appeared on the leaflet that came out deformed, but I think this may just be due to friction when growing. One of the bottom leaflets seems to be dying, I think this is again just due to a lack of light on the leaf.

Had to remove the bottom leaves as they died off, otherwise been growing quick, starting to get tall now, not very bushy but the secondary stems are still developing; maybe it’s tall and not bushy because I haven’t topped/trained it. More and more pre-flowers. Cold isn’t helping. Might be starting to become limited by lights, wondering if I should flower soon.

Continuing to grow well, but another leaf set had died off, wondering if I should be flipping it to flower? Only reluctant as it’s not very bushy.

Should I be flipping my plant to flower yet? Reluctant as not very bushy but quite tall (50cm) and getting older (Wk 13) as it’s been a slow grow. Have also been progressively losing lower leaves.

If this is your first grow buddy. Welcome to the community. Gorgeous looking plant. Only you can answer your question :) First you need to ask yourself why are you growing ? Is this a hobby or are you trying to grow enough to support your medicinal needs? anyway if its a hobby then I would flower them now and gain better experience at how the plants flower. If you are going to try and grow enough to support yourself you need to be investing in a little bit more equipment. The internode spacing on this plant is very large meaning you will not get many bud sites if you were to change the cycle now. I would advise flowering for a few more weeks until you have large branch structures. a bushy plant as you say. Though best of luck in your future growing. If you have any questions feel free to hit up my dm Im always online :)

Forgot to take any photos this week, sorry :( but added an extra couple of the lights I have from a mate, now up to a huge 30W total, these are flexible ones (6 heads) so lighting all areas of the plant. Seems to be liking the new lights as lower growth has picked back up again and new inter-nodal spacings have reduced. No more dying lower leaves.

Has developed more branches and lower intermodal spacing at the top since adding the extra lights (setup photo included). Seems happy, become very thirsty. Going to flower at the end of next week.

Final week of veg. Now flipped to flower. Been very thirsty, big calyxes at the top few nodes. I’m happy with number of leaves now. Noticed some mould type spots on a couple of the bottom leaves, included a pic, so trimmed off those areas.

First week of flower, has stretched a bit especially at the top. Pistils developing a bit more at preflower sites. Defoliated bottom 2 leaf sets that were having the problems of dying off. Will assume this is a result of lack of light.

Forgot to take any photos this week, but continued to stretch a last little bit with buds really starting to develop. Numerous buds sites over the stems, with a nice big nug a the top. Moved completely to bloom nutrients and lost a couple of the oldest big leaves at the bottom. Very thirsty now.

Buds have got slightly bigger, more trichomes and more pistils have started to turn orange. Stronger smell starting to develop. Think buds are staying small because of the low light power. My cheap fan has died. Still none of the purple colour that the strain claims.
