i slurry tested my soil (ocean forest) with tap water (no ph balance) and it came out to a ph of 5.8. so, i'm watering with my tap water balanced to 6.4 to reach a range closer to 6.2. in a large opaque plastic tote, i mixed the soil with a few liters of ph unbalanced tap water a couple days before filling the pots to hydrate the soil beforehand. not sure exactly how necessary that step was since the bag says "ready to use". just 24 hours after planting the seeds, the purple haze had already shown itself. the gorilla glue would take another 24 hours after that to pop up itself. i've been misting the soil with a flarisol "hair dresser" style spray bottle because it's pretty gentle. i've been watering the plants once a day with between 5-10 sprays per day. very low volume of water, and i think it's going well so far. the humidity isn't ideal for this stage in growth, but i don't have a humidifier to jam in the tent. i do however have a big pot of water sitting in the tent to provide some ambient humidity, but it still sits between 30-50%. the humidity domes should be helping enough though as the insides stay moist over the course of an entire day. it's currently winter in my area, so the temperature inside the tent gets down to between 16-18c (60-65f) at night time when the light is off. this shouldn't be a big deal since the range is between 22-26c (71-78f) when the grow light is on, and they aren't exactly sitting at those low temps for too long. they're also raised off the floor, on the drip pan that came with the dollies that are for the next pots. once the seedlings are mature and healthy enough, i will be transplanting them directly into my 5 gallon cloth pots. my light (100 watt spider farmer sf1000) recommends a distance of 60cm (24") from the top of the plant with 50-75% power in the seedling stage. you can find this reference on the official spider farmer page for the light if you scroll a couple images over in the preview. i tested the light with the photone app to double check, and it reached the level i wanted at 80%, so that's where i've been keeping it. the seedlings seem happy. i'm far more familiar with the cannabis plant in its later veg/flower stages having worked in med for a bit over a year, so i can't say it with complete confidence. the leaves are a nice color, usually praising the light, and are making decent progress every day. as a side note - i have the strain marked as "purple haze autoflower", and 207 genetics only has an autoflower variety of that on their website. however, it was just a freebie included with the gg#4 and had no mention of "auto" anywhere on the package, so i have no clue what's going to happen because i haven't (and probably won't) contact them. if i had done my research before hand, i would instead be growing 2 GG#4 plants instead—but it should still all work out fine. 😄
