After a short break I'm back for my 2nd grow! Moved from Coco to a 5 Gal DWC Setup. Last run I did the whole grow with T5's. I'm going to pick up a 600 Watt HPS for flowering this run. Exciting to be back growing and posting the results! On our left we have Black Berry Kush Auto from FastBuds!
I germinated the seed right in a Rapid Rooter this go instead of the ole trusty paper towel. No clue when they actually cracked but I dropped the seed in the rooter on May 2nd and had a nice Sprout on May 7th,
If all goes well I'm looking to grow a beauty! I will give her a name in due time!😂
Well...I have had a rough start this grow.
Problem #1
I had been adjusting ph based off my ph pen that was completely missing its glass bulb. Didn't realize until it finally gave me a ridiculous reading. Who knows what I have been throwing at it.
Problem #2
Root Rot right out of the gate. It hit the plant in my other diary hard when I had an airline issue with it. Pretty sure I passed it over to this guy sharing all the same water tools and what not.
I do use HydroGuard and it seems to be keeping things at bay on this guy. Defiantly had a stunted period but its back on track.
Knocking on wood for a much better Week 3!
A couple more self caused issues uggh. While waiting for my new PH pen to come in I had been color testing. I have huge issue telling the difference between orange and red in these kits. I was shooting for like a peach color but after my pen came in I was defiantly a bit too low. The other mindless thing I did was multiply my food schedule by 4. I had already did the math it on my spread sheet and defiantly didnt need to multiply by 4 lol. Gave them a hefty shot of 1400 ppms for a whole week 😣
Aside from the issues I have proper tools again and still got great growth although my leaves are not exactly pretty.
Week 4's rez is setup solid with no brain farts hahaha. Looking forward to a pretty week 4! 👌
Growth Growth Growth! This guy stretched like crazy. Right into the T5 bulbs after adjusting the light daily. My 600 watt HPS came in and is mostly installed. Still have to hook my filter back up.
I also had to do a tactical super crop on her. I didn't expect height headroom issues but oh yeah hey 5 gallons buckets chop down some of my space. I know there is a huge world out there against high stress training autoflowers but it had to be done. Also the first time doing that is the scariest feeling in the world eek!😱
Lets see if week 5 brings me a recovery knuckle or a dead main stem!
Took it outta the tent for the rez change/non yellow pictures. Buds are coming in and even some early trich devleopment. My supercropped main stem has mostly knuckled up and gotten thicker. PPM's are telling me they want a bit more food. Cant really use my leaves any more to tell lol 😒. Week 6 lets go. Hoping for some purple bud colors. Not too sure when they start to develop on the chance I get them!
Fell a little behind with getting my updates on here. Still took the photos, and just needed some time to update.
My wrecked leaves are showing in all of their glory but she is still growing strong = )
Wanted to try the full GenHydro Lineup in future grows and the supplements all came in. I added the full line to the short time left in this grow. The grow is still going considering what I have done to this plant. Honestly its hard to find pictures of plants that look this roughed up. Maybe it can be used as a friendly reminder to not freak out when that 1 leaf dosnt look exactly right and you think you killed the whole plant. Please see above! It will still grow 😁Any how not much time left on this one. Buds are thickening up. Tinges of purple are appearing.Hairs are all still white and pointy. Just a little longer!
You're really good grower , you managed to run that sick shitty plant all the way to harvest 👏👏👏Not a lot of growers would have been able to save that plant to harvest . Honestly, when I saw your plants a few weeks ago , I just said to myself that guy is gonna fight a losing battle... but you WIN 👍
Hi man, just looking at them and something is out , it has to be ph or nutrients . You have good airflow but the big shade leaves are talking to you . Do you have a ph tester ? Do you have a ppm pen ?
@PsyGrowSilly,I grow at 6.8 now , everyone goes on about lowering it down , but I don't see them pulling 200 grams a plant ,it's one journey if you mess it up with auto s you are in trouble as their limited lifespan doesn't allow for mistakes , buy a proper ph and ppm pen 👍
@BigDaddyK,
Yeah man. Its been kinda hard for me to tell since in week 3 I raped it with way too high nutes. This rez and last weeks I had around 750 ppms. I check in the morning top up the rez and re-adjust to 5.8 and also before bed. I have calibration and storage solution for the pen so my 5.8 is spot on as far as accuracy. The issue I do get is it drinks quite a bit by the time I wake up. The low rez level will ph around 4.9 or 5.0
I guess the problem I have now is since I wrecked my leaves hard early on I cant look at them and go oh hey thats a calcium issue.
It really sucks I don't have the nice lush vibrant green plants I did on my coco run. I accept that it never will be. I just wanna make sure this guy sees the finish line.
I'm all ears if you have advice
Hi Bro, nice setup you can expect great results , I don't know if have seen but you can buy the mounded net pots with a single pot in the top that fits exactly on the 20 l bucket , it also has air holes 👍
@BigDaddyK,
I really wish I did see this first. Just did some google on it. Looks easier and I defiantly need to re-do my air hose. I have to seal it back up just right or I end up pinching it. I did a bunch of reading on dwc but literally didn't put alot of thought around res changes and small nuances. Learning quickly though!
Heads up bro, if they can t recover or something goes wrong another round is always possible. Important is to be persistent results will come! Cheers and happy growing! 👍
