So far, so good. I'm a bit concerned that some leaves have curled a little bit, but maybe that's just normal.
This is my first grow, so I dont have any experience, of what is normal. I still think the plants look healthy.
Since this is my first grow, I decided to do some LST on plant #2. I will grow plant #1 without any training.
Since the plants were growing almost identically, Ill have a good comparison, which method is better.
I got some leaf burn on the top of plant #1. I measured 50.000Lux at the top of the plant. Now I have increased the distance to the light reading 40.000Lux. I hope this will improve things.
I have massive problems with overfeeding nutrients. Last week I assumed the yellow leaftips were leafburn, but it turned out it was nitrogen toxity. Although I fed only 50% of the recomandation of the manufacturer, measuring the rinsed through water, I measured an EC-value of 3.3. So I rinsed the plants until the EC level of the rinsed water was 1.6. I wonder if the brown spots on the leaves is also a sign of overfeeding, or a magnesium deficiency.
Problems on Plant #1 get worse. I'm feeding the two Plants with the same nutrients. Plant #2 looks good.
Since my tap water is has an EC Value of 0.22, I top it up wit CalMag until EC is 0.4.
After overfeeding the plants in the past, I've been feeding not enough, lateley. Plant #1 shows nutrient deficiencies.
after giving more nutrients, plant #1 seems to recover. The build up of flowers is amasing. The flowers smell really sweet.😀
Plant #1 is eating itsself up. There seems to be a block of nutrient uptake. The Flowers are developing still quite good, while the leafs are slowly dying. I guess it's a race against time if the flowers will ripen until the plant has lost all it's leafs.
Plant #2 is getting the same nutrients and still looks good. There is a slight nutrient deficiency.
The buds look great allready. 😀
This week I defoliated the plants and started flushing.
I'm so happy not worrying about over- or underfeeding.
Buds are dense and smell great.
I keep my fingers crossed. 😃
Budrott on the main cola of Plant #2! 😱
The main cola lost its green color and started to look brownish. I thought it could be drying up, so I inspected the plant and found the mold.
It seems, I cought it early on, since it was still shiny white. I cut out the affected parts. Hopefully the mold hasn't spread to the other plants.
I'd like to harvest, but there are still so many clear trychomes. I guess I can harvest in a week at the earliest.
Keep my fingers crossed.
Waiting....
According RQS Harvest should be 70-75 days after germination. Im on day 80 now, but still so manny clear trichomes.
I took a sample bud and vaped it, but hardly any effect.
So I'll give them another week.
My first grow was a rollercoster ride of emotions. Hope and worry have taken turns throuout the whole grow.
Harvest day has finally come.
I'm not so happy about the color of the trichomes. There are still too manny clear trichome heads, but the overall apearance of the plants made me think that maybe the plants are not able to ripen completely. The color of trichomes hasn't changes much in the last 2 weeks. I've been flushing for 3 weeks now, so there shouldnt be much nutrients left in the soil. All the leafs are yellow and rotting. Since I had budrot on Plant #2, I am worried to get more budrot through the rotting leafs. So I decided to harvest now, in order to save what I have grown so far.
Yield:
Plant #1: 532g (wet with stem)
Plant #2: 475g (wet with stem, missing main cola due to budrot)
I expect a yield of about 100 g of dried buds.
