One week since being placed into soil. The seed was germinated for ~36 hours in water then 24 in a wet paper towel.
This growth is since having been planted. It’s seems to be doing well.
Also; the plan for this plant is to be in a space bucket, but for the first few weeks will be in a sun-room environment (hence the 15 hours of light).
Also the temp is taken indoor during the afternoon. The low isn’t ~7 out door (only from a report with an. weather app).
Ok so, “week 2”. It’s been about 10 days, but week two, more or less.
Plant looks happy and ready for more light. It’s under about 65 watts of light. This isn’t a feminised seed, just a regular one, so if it happens to be male, it’ll be mainlining practice. I’ll also probably have its pot upped soon enough. Not much more stretching even having been under inconsistent light, been a somewhat cloudy week. That’s all i can think of saying.
Week three! So, I’ll try be more regular and do these every Friday.
The plant seems to be liking the light though, growth is good (I think, relative to what I know), and no stretching since last week.
I did find the leave seemed a little “thin” on colour (hats off to BigDaddyK for spotting that early). So I transplanted it to a hotter soil, hopefully it will be better this way. Also; the roots are looking looking pretty happy. Which is always nice to see.
The soil they were in up until recently was heavily cut down to be eassier on seedlings and some other plants. Too much apparently.
One last thing; the plant was looking pretty whimpy so I bumped up the intake and exhaust fans to the max. To make
it’s growth more robust. This will drop temps a bit, but it’s still hot enough that that won’t be detrimental at this time of year.
That was a bit more text then I had anticipated. But feel free to give a shout down in the comments with any observations, tips etc. Peace!
Growth is pretty poor at the moment. Lots of stooping this week, maybe I shouldn’t have tried my luck and have planted more and chosen one with more vigour.
Roots seem to have filled the pot, I’m guessing that the soil mix is just too crappy to do the job. Have mixed another one and given a tiny amount of standard plant fertiliser, just to try gauge how badly it’s in need of more. This will take a while.
...tick... tock... tick... tock...
Alright. It’s been two weeks, the plant isn’t looking fantastic, but has started growing again. Growth is a bit mangled.
It has been topped and has had a soil transfer to 20l of a notill mix. I’m hoping it picks back up well.
The little plant that could. Coming along ok.
Leaves still all look a bit funny, some curling/buckeling. But new growth is looking good. Also she’s responding well to training and stretching isn’t too bad either. The smell is now starting to get noticeable - that pleasant veg smell.
I should have updated this sooner, I hadn’t realised the progress. I hope to switch to flower in two weeks. Thoughts?
Just back from some holidays. Had left the plant to be - but flipped it to 12/12. As we knew, it’s still male, so it’ll be getting chopped (might try make a pipe out if it hah). My god it was a slow plant.
But overall went well. I also understand training a bit better and this soil mix worked well. I was also using a soil heater, hence why it always stayed a nice toasty 20 degrees C. Which is now proven to be valid.
I’ll be popping another zamaldelica seed, (maybe more then one this time, to get a female. Previously I only bought feminised seeds) so look out for Zamal bucket #2. Happy growing all, hopefully with more luck then this run!
Peace.
@Tonino, Thanks man! Regrettably she ended up being a he. So no good to me (I’m not breeding anything, sadly). So I ended up ending this run.
I have two more sprouted which I’ll post those up soon!
