MY
SWEET
G-ZUS
First of all: stoped all "proper" training. Cutted like 3 leafs during week 6+7 and the wires that exist are in the place I left them - I only check to see if its bothering the plant on the little "nodes", if not, they stay to keep guiding the branches.
Second: one of the plants (S)(check photo with "problem*") started to have some kind of problem. I looked it up and got to the conclusion that either it was a Calcium deficiency or Potassiom. My flowering nutes have potassiom just fine, so I think its a Cal deficiency. Orderes the Biobizz cal/mag but still hasnt got here, so, I used eggshels so nicely crushed they looked like dust (I'm a 25 yo gardener, besides being a 25 yo stoner π ). I think it helped the plant even if it was a bit, because 2/3 days later the stains on the leaves stoped to appear.
Ah, my ph meter was just fine, I checked it. Still, ordered some more calibration solutions just to be sure.
Third: I had to move my two QO from RQS to the "1st floor" because, since they are coming to the end of their journey, I started 3 new strains (btw 100% germination rate) wich I (if I have time) will be posting on a new diary soon. I moved the two mature QOs uptop because the light intensity was really damaging my baby seedlings π
Besides that, I started to use Root Juice on the seedlings and I think I overdid it... anywaaaaays, I stoped and only give them plain water.
BACK to the QOs, they are at the same distance from the lights, just higher.
THIRD: They are puffing up! The flowers grow bigger by the day and I think we are coming to the final 2 weeks (maybe)!! I am waiting for my microscope to get here, so that I can really check my ladies properly.
BUT, guess what??!! The microscope is in the same order as the Cal/Mag π π
Patience is key π½
FORTH: I just love how my house smells in the top floor. It's simply amazing. Cant wait to cut the ladies down, so that I can start the dry and cure process (which if you ask me, gets me really nervous, because I want them to not be damaged and it is the final step... I trust my learning skills, but that doesnt mean I can't be nervous about it -- as I am learning to "listen" to the plants, I have been on a journey of self healing and am leanring how to "listen" to me, too)
FIFHT: If you got here, thanks a lot, you are now a part of my journey π
*Update*
As it is very clear, one of the ladies has a deficiency. As I watched it evolve, I came to the conclusion (I guess) that the problem is a cal/mag deficiency, as I mentioned before. Today the evidence that she is in a bit of suffering is loud. I just got my Biobizz Cal/Mag and today I watered the ladies with it. Hopefully it will help her get through her final week(s) and also Im hopong that its a good addition to the healthy one π€πΌ
I also got my microscope and think that there's another week or 2 until harvest.
I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT π
Looks good so far. Every plant is different even if the same strain.
This variable is caused by different factors such as stress, variances in phenotype, soil ph, quality of drainage, etc.
I water based upon need not schedule.
Roots need plenty of oxygen to breathe, and without it you might see drops in yields, quality and risk diseases.
You only need to add enough to get the soil moist. I've found that 2L per 5 gal of soil is a pretty solid starting point to get that feel on how thirsty each girl is. Then it's easily adjusted from there to optimal levels.
Only water when the soil dries out. To test, poke a finger about an inch into the soil. Feel moist? If yes, wait to water/feed.
Even easier if you use fabric pots. Then all you have to do is feel the outside bottom of the bases.
Also, I've never grown autos before, but I do know that the dark period is where plants love to stretch and grow, especially during the first 2-4 weeks of flower... by dropping it completely, that might not be the best for overall plant health and production. I hear 18/6 is about perfect for most autos. Maybe someone with experience can correct me if I'm wrong.
As far as defoliation... you'll find many different theories and techniques.
Me personally, I defoliate slowly during veg, to reduce stress and shock.
I follow the "look up through the canopy rule". If you can see light looking up through the bottom, that means those beams are wasted.
Fan leaves are like solar panels for the plant. The more you have the more energy the plant produces. I only remove leaves I can't tuck or move to expose bud sites.
Hope this information helps. #1 noob mistake is over watering. It's still early, let the heavy pot dry out. Your doing good, paying attention, making observations and asking the right questions. Plus your enthusiasm is top notch π.
Good luck bro.
@@CRANKSTER_420, damn... thanks a lot for the observations and advices... I'm learning step by step so its easy to miss something... I started with 20/4 regarding the light hours, but since week 5 (i guess) i changed it to 24/0 and I think its going ok (I have no reference, but the plants didnt show any sign of stress anything).
To be honest I was a bit sad no1 was realy paying attention to my diary, you made my day! Hope this makes you feel nice too π Due to this (and a bit of over working days/weeks) I havent been able to post, you got me excited again to share, thanks!! The girls are now in a much more advanced state, I'll be posting some photos and a bit of info now. If I have time, I will provide more info during the next days. Thanks again m8! This is my first grow, and Ive always dreamed of having my own baby cannas. I am loving everything, even the bad moments! Have a nice one!! ππΌ
@Finniegrow, thanks m8!! Your comment means a lot! π
Will be posting now and in the next days a lot of photos and info. Stay tuned if you feel like it! π
Have a nice one π½
