Ok, with my first grow finally cleared out of my main tent, it’s time to start fresh. Dropped 3 new seeds in 4/21.
Well well! I’ve got three baby seedlings above soil 4/26.
Only seeing a tiny peek of true leaves on one. Glass of water worked well. Two had tap roots when I planted about 30 hours later, one I planted without root. Still rocking the humidity dome for now, keeping about 70-80% RH, 76 deg F, light 16” away, on 25% (approx 200 par).
Using small 4” fabric pots, I prefer to pot up, yes even on auto flower. Planning to pot up into 5 gal bags and try a sea of green approach. Let’s go girls! *Shania Twain Guitar riff*
All 3 coming along nicely. Humidity dome off last week. It’s pretty amazing the difference having a controlled environment in my tent and my newer grow lights. My other grow I got started without these things (I was waiting for room in my main tent which was occupied by flowering grow) and you could definitely tell the stunting that occurred. This round looks much happier already.
Go girls go!!!!
Woahhhh these ladies are FIERCE. Just goes to show the importance of the grow environment. I feel like these gals at 2 weeks are just flourishing compared to my first attempt at blue dream.
I was not expecting to see roots already, hot damn! looks like I’m potting up asap!
I am going to try to LST, really out of necessity. I just don’t have the vertical height to let them grow wild!
5/11- I potted up these gals into 5 gallon pots. Hope they love their new home! Very carefully cut the 4 inch fabric seedling pots and moved into the new pots, also fabric. I buried them deep, so they look shorter again! But I hope lots of growth will be coming quickly!
5/15, ladies looked like they bounced back good after transplant. Almost week 3 so I’m starting up some LST. I feel so bad bending them but I really want to give training a try.
5/16
I’ve applied low stress training to 2 of 3 plants. Want to do a little experiment with timing, I’ll let the third plant grow a little more before bending. All in all, things are moving pretty well. Resisting the urge to start one of my photo period seeds… I want to get a mama plant going and try some high stress training!
5/19 seeing white hairs in all the right places on the ladies. Right now I’m trying out a little LST test. I read contradicting info about when to start LsT. so I started LST in week3 with 2 plants and am letting one plant go wild… for now. I will plan to do some more bending type training when she’s a little bigger. Watered with ph-ed water about 6.8. Just a bit of the guano fox farms additive.
5/22. Ok I applied LST to the third plant, all have seemed to recover nicely! Did a deep clean of my tent and reset the plant rack a little higher. I am starting to see more prominent flower sites.
Alright starting week 4. One plant showing signs of flowering but calling this veg for now. Tried adding a screen? Maybe this is a bad idea I’ll decide in a few days. It does seem like the plant I waited a little later to lst has a slightly preferable shape and bud site spacing right now. But we shall see.
Watered ph 6.8. Mild nutrients as they seem to be doing ok as is!
5/28. Girls are doing nicely! Each day I’ve been checking and they totally bounce back after my training and bending. I can see clear pre flowering activity so things seem to be on track about 4 weeks from germination.
Keeping about 55-60 humidity, usually around 79 degrees, I have my ac infinity pro controller set to exhaust at max 81 Fahrenheit.
I need to do a little more research, at some point I think I stop bending down the branches and just let er go wild right? I have enjoyed learning using autos but I def see the appeal of having a mother photoperiod you can keep in veg forever. It is so satisfying pruning, bending, and seeing these plants bounce back. I’m impressed with autos, no doubt the photoperiods are going to blow my mind! Not quite ready to pop photo seeds yet. But soon. Thanks for following along on my new grower journey!
Flower time, let’s get em girls!
Things seem to be going well, time is flying by. Watering every 4 days or so. Following fox farms soil schedule closely, a bit diluted.
A little nervous about just how low this training (which I now believe is more HST than LST to be honest! Still learning.) has the canopy to the soil. Might need to get under there and do a cleanup of any scraggly leaves near or touching soil.
Otherwise, really loving seeing all of these bud sites coming in! Flower power. Peace all thanks for reading!
Here we go, just crossing into week 6. LOTS of flower power happening right now, I love to see it!
The gals seem to be thirsty every 4 days or so. Feeding a slightly diluted fox farms schedule with the big 3: grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom now.
I’ll keep ya posted! Thanks for reading.
Here we go, week 7! Things have been smooth sailing. Still watering every 4ish days. The gals are generally seeming happy! One of the plants on the left seems to be a lot brighter green than the other two, not quite sure why the variation. All seem healthy though!
Seeing ample flower sites developing. Keep it rolling ladies!
7 weeks 4 days- still going well I think! Watered again yesterday, trying to follow fox farms soil schedule and, I don’t know it seems like the ladies are not the happiest after that last feed. Ph about 6.8, maybe I should lower it a little more. Just noticing a little yellowing of the tips of the leaves, on more than just T-Boz, now on Chilli too. I will keep an eye on them and see how things go the next few days.
Keep on truckin ladies!
Ok ok Week 8 let’s go!
Gals aren’t as happy as I’d like them to be. Noticed fading of tips of leaves on left eye and chilli. Tips of leaves yellow on showing on t boz now too who seems to be just a week behind the other 2 in development.
I have been running the nutrients pretty lean, and overall I just haven’t been liking how the liquid trio does. It’s hard to tell if these ladies are deficient or I’m brining them, I always seem to start losing control about 4th week of flower.
I wonder though if it’s also just about time for end of life? I strive to keep plants healthy til the end, not sure if the fade is always a thing, but don’t want to let myself off the hook either. I still have a lot to learn!
Needed to keep an eye on watering a little closer so i will note that as well.
I think left eye and chili are getting close! I really don’t think they like the nutrients I have. They seem to not enjoy getting fed, a few days after seeing some yellowing and browning tips. Gave them a good drink of regular ph-ed water and they seem to be happier.
Two of three plants are looking ready! Noticing some yellowing of leaves, still not loving the nutrients I’m working with but we’re in the home stretch. One plant, the plant that I waited until later to start with the stress training, is a little further behind in flower BUT is looking way better in terms of the number of bud sites and the overall lushness of the plant. Thinking this isn’t a random occurrence and it would be smart to wait until later in the veg stage to dabble in stress training. I’ll be ready to chop at least these 2 next week. Huzzah!
Chop day for plant 1 and 2! Hairs are almost all bronze, trichomes lookin good, ready to go. Did a little rearranging to put the two chopped plants to dry in the big tent, and moving the last one still growing into my small tent. Hoping to keep my humidity and temp in the dry tent more closely managed. Going for about 60-68 degrees and 50-60 humidity. Plant 3 is still growing strong, lots of bud sites. Plant 1 was about 216 grams weighed straight after cutting. 250grams for plant 2. We will see how things dry up and I’ll weigh again!
That’s a wrap! Wow some really sizable nugs. Paid off to wait to stress train til later on as I feel like this plant had a lot more size and cola count to her than her sisters harvested a few weeks back. A treat to grow! On to the next 😘
