Completely successful germination, was able to place the seed within a cup of water, followed by the paper towel method and it launched a root about an inch in length in about 4-5 days. Started with no nutrients within the soil as I was comfortable with the living soil base that started. Overall successful first week.

Continued with normal feeding schedule. Went to the aquaponics store as I noticed some stunting and have never grown autos before, figured it would be a good idea to pick up some liquid salt-based nutrients, mainly from REMO. I have never used REMO, so over this week I watched a bunch of using their nutrients, in comparison to using GreenPlanet, which I have previously used.

Began with the REMO nutrients, immediately noticed a large amount of growth this week. Started light with nutrients as I did top dress with the GAIA 4-4-4 in week 2. Started with some new LST clips, figured I would give them a try instead of tying or using a trellis netting. However, at the end of this week, I noticed some fungus gnats appearing, seems to be an issue with the Gaia Living Soil Blend, which is unfortunate. Started using some Doktor Doom All Purpose and Organic Insecticide, which seemed to be effective for grown Gnats, however for the larvae if it becomes an issue, im looking into using sand on top or the possibility of topping with Diatomaceous Earth.

Although stunted from the changing of nutrients, my lack of watering to combat the fungus gnats as well as using Auto's for the first time and not wanting to burn the plant with nutrients, I would say there is still a successful amount of new growth. The first photo is at the beginning of the week however there will be an updated photo for the end of the week added. LST clips worked beautifully, with an increasingly flat canvas of structure to work with and further train if needed.

Decided to reintroduce some LST training on some top branches to level out the plant for better light penetration. I chose not to top this grow as I was worried about the harm it would cause the auto flowers, as I have not grown them before. However, I now know that the harm implemented through topping does not necessarily have a noticeable effect, even for auto flowers. With the new budsites forming, I have begun to implement three additional nutrients, namely the REMO Bloom, AstroFlower and Natures Candy, following the regiment that was provided by 420 Fast Buds online, which has been highly influential in not burning my plants so far. I was struggling with rising temperatures and lacking a proper lung room. However, I have since found that temperatures for LED grow setups such as mine can endure temperatures up to 85-87 before harm occurs, so my worry has dissipated significantly. I am not willing to invest in a proper AC unit precisely because of the price, and I would instead not choose a cheaper swamp cooler, for instance, so for the time being, I am just going with the flow. Overall, the plant is stretching out quite a bit and will likely need a bit of defoliation within this week or next.
