I planted the seeds directly into 3 gallon breathable potters. 3 of 5 seeds sprouted. All sprouted within 36 hours and within 72 hours, the pictures show what I have. I’ll post weekly updates. Purpose of my grow attempt is to see what one gleans from 3 female auto flowering plants with minimum expense, but basic attention to watering and air movement.
I had to build up the soil a bit as the stems seemed too long and frail to me. Not sure if that was the right thing to do, but seemed reasonable. They seemed to like it.
Fox,farm nutrients arriving today. Will,start to introduce modest nutrients. I feel the soil has all it nutrients it needs as a young plant. Correct me if Im wrong! PLEASE! Plants look OK to me and I have been sparing with water so far. Im thinking if look look good, leave em alone, especially as nube (Dube). I don't want to kill them with dotage.
Ok fellow Scroggers. I am scrogging an auto flowering critical purple. I have three plants in a SMALL tent 18”x30”x36. I have begun scrog early. It is obvious the colas are forming and I’m trying my best, as unobtrusively as possible, to give them all light. I would appreciate it if a versed scrogger with autoflowers could take a closer gander at the beginning of the tangle. I have bent the main stalk over and tried to expose as much as the tops as possible. I am also trying to train them into their own spots. Critique, if the spirit moves. Me and my potential buds would appreciate advice, or maybe an atta boy if I’m doing it correctly despite myself!
Stuff REALLY is thirsty now. End of fifth week, I’m watering each plant about 25oz daily. Pots light 24 hours later. I am also feeding Fox Farm grow (for vegetative state) every third feeding.
First week of flowering stage:
I risked 48 hours w/out H20 as I went home for XMas. H20 less a problem than the 3” of growth, post first feeding, of big bud from Fox Farm. One Cola was burned by the LED. I snipped off Just below the entire burn area.
I also planted 3 plants in an 18x36x40 tent. Too many. I am doing ScrOG thankfully. This way, at the very least, I can try and target what looks promising. Hindsight would have me plant two in the space. Maybe just one.
I’m concerned the stalks look long and spindly. Maybe it’s just the way it will be for a little while?
Height issue. Small tent. LED as high as it will get and the tops of my newly flowering efforts are a mere 3 inches from the grow light. A few fronds have burned a little. My ScrOG is nearly as high as it’s going to go. Is there a way to decrease height. Stakes in soil ?
stakes in soil sure, or HST : basically bend until you hear it crack but not until the stalks snap, then make a "band aid" with some duct tape so the stalk heals correctly. it's scary, but it will 1. control the height and 2. make the plant think it's under attack and make bigger buds - what s not to like ? hope this helps ! 🚀
I have staked, weighted down, strip tied and or bungee corded each branch in an attempt to lower height in constricted area. LED about 5 inches from tops. Next step, if required, cut holes in top of tent to eek out another 2 inches, or so. Last resort.
Still too close to light. Bud tops 3.5 to 4" away from T-5 light (400 watts). A few leaves have burned, but very few. Looks good to an untrained eye. Sure smells now. I'm thinking the fan is keeping heat away slightly.
Think they are ready. Lots of whitemcrystals and Amber hair going on. Haven't noticed too much purple, but might look different out of flourescence. Harvesting tomorrow. Will post a video.
