Beginning of the 5th week, the plants slowly go outside. The Auto Ultimate were topped, as were the Frisian Drew and Jack Herer. I don't think the Strawberry Chees and Orange Bud autos are really developed enough for me to top them. What's more, they've already reached the preflower stage. Now 2 days out during the day and in the evening and then it's off into the ground for the Frisian Dews and Jack Herer! The Auto Ultimates are in 60l pots and will stay there - the other Autos are in 40l pots and can stay there too.

I've wanted to grow a plant in a big pot for a long time. Now that we're allowed to grow in Germany and no longer have to hide :-) Which of them would you use for the 100 Gallon Pot?

Doesn't really matter as long as you keep topping any regular or feminised seed

The best answer to this is really gonna be dictated by: 1. The climate in your area- pick something that thrives in your conditions. Is it usually humid or rainy around harvest time? Pick a strain that's more mold resistant and with a shorter average flowering period. 2. Pick something you're gonna enjoy to consume. If you're growing a monster plant you're gonna have a lot of bud when finished. Target profile traits that appeal to you. Flavor, effects, etc. Don't get too caught up in sativa vs indica. Honestly there's very few "pure" strains anymore and hybridization has really opened things up where you can grow a lot of different strains. Breeders generally give good recommendations on genetics that do well outside.

My favorite strains to grow outside are all Indica leaning. I do this because Sativa always take the longest to flower and sometimes they are not even ready by the time frost is hitting. You are talking about a few weeks of time outside with an Indica vs Sativa. So my recommendation is whatever strain you have going now, to choose whatever one is more Indica leaning. Also, I would like to note that Sativa plants are usually the 10-12 foot monster plants you see on the internet. Whereas Indica will get around 6-7 feet tall in a season. I hope this helps and I really want to see this journey so hope you keep us posted.

This week some of the ladies got their final place. The broken Frisian Dew in the big “pot”. 2 Jack Herer in the garden and also a Frisian Dew right next to it. The 3 Auto Ultimates are developing well - although one of them is still a lot bigger. Unfortunately, the first week in freedom was almost without any real sun and quite cold. There was also a lot of rain and strong winds - they have to get over that now :-) Of course there is also the first attack - spider mites.... Yesterday I treated everything with Neem oil. Let's see what the rain has done.

A really very wet and cold week with no sunshine. Every night below 15 degrees plus 5 days of continuous rain. This has slowed down all the plants extremely. But today I can see the first spurts of growth again. At the beginning of the rainy period, an extremely large number of aphids have settled. I sprayed once with neem - but as the Automatics are already developing flowers, that's probably not so great. The day before yesterday I introduced lacewings and cockchafer beetles.... It's already working - all the aphids etc. are slowly disappearing. I partially topped the two Jack Herer and the two Frisian Dew again today - after 5 nodes... I did without fertilizing and watering after the 150 liters per square meter of rain these days :-)

A good week for the ladies :-) Only watered once with fertilizer and only rained once :-) Very warm and lots of sun. Everything is growing well and hopefully can make up for the first 4 cold and wet weeks.
