Six seeds lao Gold from glass of water to starter pods. When they sprout from the peat pellets I'll start week one. Update: It's Sunday, the beginning of the next week and they are all just starting to sprout from the starter pods. So once they are all completely up will begin week 1 in a few days or so. Update 05/14 Tuesday. Things don't look good. The seedlings are dampening out. They are shedding the shell and just dropping ng over dead. I think me at or all of them will not survive. Looks like an issue with the peat pellets. I'm never going to use that se things again. Besides creating an unnecessary step I suspect the pellets are killing the seedlings. Three if six confirmed dead and the others might all do the same thing. The pellets have mold judging by this Update: I think these Lao Gold seeds will be a total loss.. I am soaking three Burmese seeds in water right now. They will go directly into potted soil Update.: 5 of the six seeds died shortly after sprouting from mold contaminated peat pellets. One did not germinate. I blame the pellets 100%. They had been stored in the open, unsealed and they became contaminated ======================================== Burmese: Real Seed Company : Description Genetics: Tai Cannabis Landrace Sourcing: The Real Seed Company, Shan State, Southeast Asia, 2023 Purpose: Ganja (seedless or lightly seeded buds) Latitude: 21° N Regional Harvest: December to March Height: 2 – 4 metres Characteristics: Rich aromas, soaring high, Sativa-type architecture Classification: C. sativa subsp. indica var. indica Grow Type: Greenhouse or outdoors New winter 2023 stock of a cannabis landrace collected direct from Shan State, an ethnically Tai region of Burma, by an aficionado and cultivator from Laos, who was impressed by the ganja and brought back seed to cultivate at home. The following is a review by a grower who ran a large number indoors: The sort of plant: Big vigorous pure Sativa with large fluffy buds like some of the old Columbians, similar bud structure, too. Possibly the most vigorous Sativa I’ve grown and I’ve grown a good number. Very tall even with significant root restriction. Some of the buds cure to brown like some classic ‘Thai’ strains! Smell (when growing): Mango-carrot and spicy hazy with a bit of incensey-ness and a sweet-citric bite. Smell (when dried): Peppery, hazy, herbal, minty, oregano, incense, citric, strong ‘waxy’ tropical Sativa smell. The mango smell is a bit more subdued on drying. Flavor: Extremely spicy, herbal, tobacco-y, smooth, incense. Potency: High to extremely high. High: The best plants in a good amount: Very, very strongly stimulating, turns on your brain, weird thoughts, closed and open eye visuals. Too intense and overwhelming for some people. Tends more towards trippiness than euphoria. Conclusion: This Landrace has the characteristics that many Sativa lovers are after, the ones that are hard to come by these days. If you want plants that can be scary and mindbending, this is a great strain. If you’re prone to paranoia or panic attacks then you might want to avoid this sort of herb. There’s a lot of diversity in the line still despite being nearly true breeding for sound to very high potency. The guy behind RSC said that a Lao grower brought seeds back from Burma ’cause he was impressed. I see why…. *** Note that so-called ‘Yunnan Indica’ and alleged ‘Burmese’ strains circulating at seed sites are clear examples of ‘breeders’ in the West taking shortcuts by hybridizing with hybrids such as Skunk, as demonstrated by genomic analysis. =================================== Update: two of the Burmese have successfully sprouted. Soaked under 24 and planted directly into pots.. I have five more planted using same method. Update 5/26/2924. Two more have sprouted There are now four Burmese seedlings. Update 5/27/2024: ALL SEVEN Burmese have sprouted This grow will consist of seven Burmese plants that I have already numbered 1-7 from oldest to youngest. I will wait until the next full photo session and begin the diary for Burmese at week 1 in a few days from now. Update 5/28/2024 One sprout didn't make it. The other 6 are doing fine though. There will be six Burmese plants for this grow

Wow. Wish I could get this site to load. Wish I could properly attribute my breeder The Real Seed Company. Does anyone even maintain this site anymore? Week 2 of the Burmese grow. They look good, maybe a bit over watered but that is okay for now. Fungus gnats are starting to take over. Plant 6 is slightly blemished. Needs more air in the soil and more root growth. But overall they are doing okay. Just growth pains. Coming up though.

Week 3 . No issues. Plant 5 produced only three blades on third node, others produced 5. So maybe two pheno types. Maybe a male? They all mostly look identical. Same shade of green and overall morphology. Added fish & guano this week. Been going light on the nutes so far. Using that bacterial fungicide to prevent root issues and dampening. That stuff saved my previous grow. bacillus amyloiquefaciens strain D747

Big stretch this week. They are growing by the hour. The stems are sturdy, leaves look perfect. I am starting to apply the brakes. Went from 18 hours daylight to 14 hours daylight. By next update I plant to be at 12 hours daylight. I will also be introducing flowering nutrients. I can see where this is going and I need to move it along to flowering or they will outgrow these pots and this space l. They will anyway. No pests or deficiencies. They are in great health and robust

On 12 hours. Just about to flower They are too tall, I snapped the stem on plant 4 and put a bandaid over it. I moved the two short ones to the center and gave them stools Plants 5&6 were the last to sprout and grew the slowest, all else being equal. Sorry if hoping they will be the two males and the rest will be female. That would work for me Can't sex them yet. Maybe next week. The four big ones sort of look female though, but still can't tell yet. They have a faint odor if an unripened green citrus fruit.

Tall, lanky outgrowing room, snapped stems, bending, stressing,.small branches. Pre flowering, looking female, except 5&6 stunted, possibly males. Plant 4 is the most female looking. They need another week to start flowering so I can tell for sure. All the tall ones, 1-4 are probably female but uncertain. 5 and 6, on stools seem more male like in top.

Still pre flower.i think mostly female. By now I would see ball and stem if they were male. Plants 5 and 6 have not pre flowered so if there is a male it would be one or both of them These plants are getting very large The light is all the way up. I have had to resort to literally snapping stems. The stems heal fast and the plants stand right up again. They can take this punishment, which could be slowing the bud growth. I hope by next week I have good white hairs. For now, for the moment, I'm just giving them distilled water with no nutes.

Continued slow growth of buds in plants 1-4 which are all tall and bent. Plant 5 is male. Plant 6 is a female. These are the two short ones that are finally flowering under the shade of the four big females. They don't get enough light. It will be awhile before plant 5 has open pollen sacks so no rush to sequester. I plan on making a few seeds but that is a few weeks away before I even need to think about that. The buds in plants 1-4 are starting to look a little better.. Thinly scattered tiny clear trichomes mainly on the sugar leaves.

Week 8 of flower. They are fattening up a little now. Plant 5 shed a little pollen. See if I can pollinate a few lower buds. Not sure I want to keep growing this strain This a SE Asian jungle sativa landrace photo period strain It plays by a whole different set of rules than the hybrid auto flower strains most people grow. These plants can live a couple of years in their native habitat. They reveg repeatedly and can be house sized trees. They are typically grown on south facing slopes overlooking incised river canyons in a limestone and metamorphic soil. They can range in potency from mild to alarmingly psychoactive. SE Asian sativa's were exported to central and South America and are ancestral to those hybridized sativa's like Columbian gold, Panama red, Acapolco, and in between There are iof course a small variety of different SE Asian landraces. This Burmese is supposed to closely resemble the Thai stick strains popular in the late 70's and is not a very odoriferous weed until fully mature or until burned. These are highly stressed plants due to stem abuse. Lighting issues will probably reduce the yield and potency for my grow.

Well, I think plant 5 must pollinated a few buds by now..Maybe give it a couple more days and then pull it. I don't want that many seeds The buds are starting to fatten up and the hairs are beginning to turn red. Except plant 6 which has barely begun to even bud. Plants 5 and 6 are up on stools. Plants 1-4 are all tall with bent stems and are pressing right up in the light and have to be frequently bent back down. So they are under high stress.

Well plant 5 did it's job alright. This will now be a seed grow. Looks like the entire grow has been pollinated which wasn't my original intention. Oh well, I'm not upset. I'll just grow good viable seeds. It should take 6-8 weeks to have all of the seeds viable. No sense in chopping them too soon and having only half of them br good. I could be looking at December before I chop the grow. All of leaves look real good, nice and green with no blemishes. This strain is very hardy and resistant to issues. So I expect success with the seeds. I'm sure there will still be plenty of bud left after I extract the seeds. It will just be all broken up. Plant 6 isn't doing much of anything really. I moved it outside. Give some real sunlight and fresh air. Plant 5 was chopped. The pictures are all plants 1-4.

Week 3 of seeds Moved plant 6 back indoors. Hopefully it's not bug infested. Tall enough to finally reach the light Barely flowering, pre-flowers. So when I harvest all these seeds then I can carry on with one seedless plant at least which should be starting to flower pretty good by that time. Just grow that one plant for awhile. Harvest the seeds in November and then harvest plant 6 in January is what I'm now thinking. There won't be much going on now except waiting for all these seeds to mature. That can take time. About a month more for all those...

Just noticed plant 3 is showing bad signs..This grow could come to a sad ending.

Week 5-6 seeds. Coming along. Would have already harvested if there weren't seeds. Might as well let the seeds mature, the smoke won't be too good. I let plant 5 stick around for too long. They smell nutty, like coffee or maple. I bet if these had been grown right without seeds this would be a great herb. Plant 6 is also coming around, just starting to stretch. That one will be around awhile and it will be seedless. So I will get to try some good Burmese later after I chop these three seeded plants To recap, plant 2 died from having too many seeds, plant 5 was a male, plant 6 is a late bloomer and seedless, plants 1, 3, and 4 are seeded females with two or three weeks left.

Week 6 of seeds. Week 4 of flower for plant 6. These seeds need another 3 weeks. Many of the seeds buds are starting to add a fresh layer of new flower at the tips. So seeds are nearing maturity and flowering has resumed. Plant 6 has stretched up to the light, a cola is stacking up, and I have had to bend it's stem. Things are looking good.

Week 7 seeds. Plant 6 on week 5 of flower. Seed buds are growing new white hairs and are flowering again. Seeds are immature. So this can continue for weeks. Pretty soon this will be a 6 month grow. Tropical sativa's can be multi year plants. So hurry up and be patient. Seeds are taking a long time. The conditions are cool and dry. I'm out of cal mag so for now I am using hard tap water. That water has a pH of about 7.9.but the soil pH is acidic..I am using a biological bacterial anti fungal and I assume biological activity from the bacteria lower the soil pH and make nutrients more accessible for the roots. I can always switch back to distilled water if I see.a problem.

Week 8 seeds. I went ahead and chopped plant 3 because it seems to be flat lining and not doing great. The seeds look about 20% viable from that plant. That leaves plants 1, 4, and 6 still steaming along. I will not include the other plants 2,3 and 5 in the harvest report for this grow or count their yield So I am left with a three plant grow with more space that was needed. Plant 6 needs at least 4 weeks. I should try to see if I can keep plants 1 and 4 going that long. This weed has a weak nutty aroma sort of like coffee but not coffee that is pleasant neutral. The buzz pretty much matched the smell. When you vape it it has a weak draw, an almond flavor, and the THC is low. It gives you a slight body melt and a wandering mind. Not spectacular but a little nice . It does not remind me of old school Thai stick. This would be like the time you scored this stick from a new dealer and he sort of ripped your off It just seems like it's hempy. But this is only a preview and what I have sampled was not well finished and seedy It was wet vaped I am Arizer whole flower vaporizer. The buds were green and damp at the time. But the THC measure is valid, it's low, but still there. Would not be a legal hemp, it is marijuana grade. For the trouble it's worth to grow this strain I would discourage most growers from the general population of growers from bothering with it. Good for me, but not for you. It produces too much stem for tent growers and has a long slow flower cycle producing buds that are airy and only get you marginally high.. It might be a good bake for a student doing homework. Update: plant 4 chopped. Without even weighing it it looks to be a quarter oz. Plus more seeds.

Down to two plants, plants 1 & 6. Week 9 of seeds for plant 1. Plant 6 is in about it's 6th week of flower. Plant 1 has been flowering for months. Plant 1 has fewer seeds than the other plants. Those ones were completely spent when I chopped them and I recovered a full crop of seeds. The smoke has been harsh and more body melt than psychoactive. If Thai Stick is Champaign then this stuff is Mountain Dew Plant 1: 17 weeks flower. Plant 6: 6 weeks flower.

Plant 1 has been harvested and smoked. This was a powerful high TCH strain. Strongest that I have grown so far. It's the old Thai stick all over again. This is a ripping psychedelic ganja that doesn't play around. A SE jungle sativa that hits hardest and fastest. Overwhelming mental effects. Plant 6 harvested Dec. 22. This is solid Thai stick. I don't know why my smoke report won't show. But I made one and saved it. Diary must be broke. I also tried to edit the diary and the page for that doesn't display. I was never able to delete that other strain that didn't germinate. Burmese from the Real Seed Company. Smells like Welch's Berry flavored fruit juice gummies and Blue Diamond almonds. Spicy woody taste and harsh in the chest. Very high THC.. And I have hundreds of seeds to grow more.
