Keith's German Grow : Zwei Zamnesia Sunset Sherbert Autos
They're behind the Jack Herer but at least the ladies showed up to the party at least! I have named them Shasta and Sky. They both have made the journey towards the light. I am maintainin a 21-23 C with around 67-75% RH, and with all 3 beans now popped, I am very excited about this grow day 5 of germination.
Temp: 21.5c RH 75%.
The sunset sherbert autos x2 (total 3) are also freshly emerged, and for now the SF-1000401h Evo 100W will be powering the babiesd, swapped out for the Mars Hydro FC-E1500 150W (+complete adlite set). later on this afternoon. Spider Farmer's 6L humidifier with sensor is doing a great job, and so is the dehumidifier , both are operating fine in the 70x70x1,60 tent.
Air flow at 25% on a 4" inline fan with 204CFM. Light at 30% at 18 inches. No Adlites in operation.
Let's quickly review the key new components I've planned to integrate or have already:
Circulation Pump - Adding this to the 14L Mars Hydro reservoir will ensure even fresh, circulated-for-a-miniute-every-hour, batch of water (and later nutes) to the auto-drip system, maintaining optimal feeding for my plants when I am away, next week.
Biobizz & BioTabs Supplements - These organic nutrient and microbial products will provide a comprehensive and balanced feeding regimen for my plants.
Auto-Drain Potted Plant Stands - The wheeled, auto-draining stands will simplify watering and prevent any spills or overflows.
Inkbird Humidity Controller - Pairing this with the Spider Farmer humidifier and dehumidifier will allow me to precisely maintain the ideal VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) levels.
LST Clips, Trellis Net & Shelves - These will help me maximize my grow space and optimize the plant canopy for optimal light exposure.
Pest Control Strips - An important preventative measure to stay ahead of any potential pest issues.
Smart Soil Sensors - The Zigbee-enabled sensors will provide vital data on soil moisture, temperature, and more, which I can monitor remotely.
Air Purifier/Ion Generator - Ensuring my grow environment has clean, high-quality air circulation.
With all of these elements in place, combined with my existing setup and the automated control via the iGrow app, I'm truly creating a "hands-off" grow operation. (theoretically, with a bro, coming to phiscally check too)....The ability to monitor and adjust key parameters remotely while I'm away in Italy.
Running on Sunrise/set mode(18/6) over the "seedling" scene, in iGrow app, keeping track of DLI and later on, the Adlites will come into play.
Temp at 23.5 and RH is at 60%
Germany's New Cannabis Cultivation Policy: My Autoflower Grow Setup
In a recent policy shift, Germany has implemented a new law allowing each adult to cultivate up to three cannabis plants in their household. As an avid 1st time grower, I've seized this opportunity to set up an autoflower grow operation within my 70x70x160cm grow tent.
Lighting and Environmental Control
At the heart of my setup is the Mars Hydro FC-E1500 LED light, drawing 150 watts. To complement this, I've installed the complete set of six Adlites from Mars Hydro, including infrared (IR), ultraviolet (UV), and far-red light spectrums.
For environmental control, I've paired an Inkbird dehumidifier with a Spider Farmer humidifier, allowing me to precisely manage the relative humidity (RH) in the tent, which typically ranges from 54% to 60%. To maintain airflow, I have an exhaust fan running at 75%, creating negative pressure, and I've kept the bottom and view window flaps open.
Autoflower Germination and Watering
I've started my grow with two Sunset Sherbert and one Jack Herer feminized autoflower seeds. After a 24-hour soaking, I've planted them in my setup, which includes a Mars Hydro Drip Irrigation system with a 14-liter opaque bucket and a homemade circulation pump.
Upcoming Vacation and Remote Monitoring
I'll be away from May 21 to May 29, but I've set up a plan to remotely monitor and maintain my grow during this time. I'll keep the fan at maximum 204 CFM and set the humidity to 48%. The plants are placed on auto-drain pot stands with drip trays, and I'll be using wifi to control the watering and nutrient regimen.
Future Improvements and Nutrient Plan
Upon my return, I plan to introduce several upgrades and enhancements to my setup. This includes incorporating soil sensors, both analog and smart, and deploying pest strips to prepare for the upcoming hot weeks. I'll also be utilizing Biobizz Nutrients (bioheaven, Topmax, and Biobloom) and considering the addition of Algae-mac or Advanced Nutrients' Bud Candy.
Additionally, I'll be integrating an Exhale CO2 Bag and implementing a specific strategy for the Adlites:
IR: 15 minutes on before and after lights-off
UV: 5-10 minutes per hour during the light cycle
Far-red: Throughout the flowering stage
Low-Stress Training and Harvesting
Once I return, I'll commence low-stress training (LST) using clips and training wire, taking advantage of the two trellis nets already installed in the tent. As the plants mature, I'm confident they'll be able to support a successful horizontal harvest.
With this well-equipped and strategically planned grow setup, I'm optimistic about the outcome, even during my upcoming absence. While I'm prepared to accept the potential consequences, I'm confident that my preparations will result in a bountiful harvest upon my return.
Well, I've been away for 5 days now, another 3 to go plus travel day before I get back home.
Everything is working out so far with the exception of the iGrow system from Mars Hydro. The FC-E1500 comes with features that are cool in theory...
But they simply don't work.
So I get up at 5, to turn on the light and stay up to turn off the light at 23:00.
My neighbor has refilled the humidifier and the watering system is working great!
All in all, with the addition of the biobizz nutrients, (biogrow, algae-mic, bioheaven, topmax and leafcoat as well, I hope all will continue to be as successful as they have been up until now.
Very excited to return home next week.
