Hey guys,
this is my first grow ever and I want to take you guys on a little adventure.
First things first, my grow area:
I wanted to build a custom wardrobe which will fit into the apartment, without taking too much attention if anybody I dont want to know visits or whatever. The second thought was, that I dont want it to smell in the apartment and no light during the blooming phase.
I bought a billy wardrobe from ikea which cost me around 100€ and then I made two holes into the wardrobe. The holes were 150mm in diameter. One was on the top of the wardrobe and one was at backwall close to the bottom of the wardrobe. This was done for the ventilation and the airtake.
Than I bought silicone and closed all the other areas, from which it could take air or from which air could leave the wardrobe.
After that I took a board from the billy and made half a hole to the back of it, which is to prevent the ventilation to fall down on the canopy and also to hang the lights to.
For the ventilation, the cable management and the air inflow I used secret jardin. With a few adjustments here and there, it worked really good and I can totally recommend it.
I installed everything and the setup looks good to me. The only problem I really had, was the sealing. Since the wardrobe has a distance from the low and the high board to the door, I didnt really find a good way to solve it. I want it to look normal but I also want it to be really perfectly build for the grow itself. I probably need to work on that solution again.
When I installed the door, I also ordered some magnets from amazon, and attached it to the top, the sites and the bottom of the wardrobe, so that the door will be shut and no airflow is going through the door itself. I wanted to only allow airflow from the back of the wardrobe, since I want all the air to go though the ventilation before it goes outside again.
I messed a bit up, since I was too excited and started to grow the canopy before the wardrobe was ready. So it started in the sunlight and went into the wardrobe after it was a bit grown.
Since I was so excited to start, I just bought simple soil from the market and just started growing before my light mix and all mix arrived. It took so long, that I even repoted without using the right soil.
Thats why there are spots on the leafs. Little baby got hungry...
I was sooo scared haha the pot was not high enough, so the leafs started to grow against the wall and they were very dry and lacking food.. couldnt wait till the order arrived .. I couldnt find a proper humidifyer that would fit, so I put a plate with cold water in there. Sometimes when it was too warm, I put some ice cubes in the water too. Since my hygrometer still didnt arrive, I didnt know but could only do how my instincts told me ..
Finally, my new pots arrived and the soil too, together with a bunch of other stuff I awaited! Now I repot again in the all mix without further nutritients
Since I read a lot of stuff, and I only have enough space for one canopy, I want this lady to fill my lungs as long as possible with her hopefully very beautiful buds, so I started topping. I want to use the manifold technique. Since I am a beginner and only know the stuff from youtube videos, I didnt want to combine it with other techniques. Also I have adhd and somehow the symmetry of the plants that are manifolded give me some kind of comfort and calmness ... I dont know why, but they look so perfect
Now a bunch of other stuff arrived and I can finally use fans for her! Also the hygrometer arrived and I was SHOCKED! It showed a humidity of around 40% and up to 28 degree. I dont even know how she survived that long ? After I witnessed the horrifying truth I searched restless for a humidifyer that fits into the room, and where I can also see the humidity, since I could not believe my eyes with the hygrometer
I found a humidifyer the same day, that somehow arrived the next day! I use rubberbands to manipulate the canopy into being more flat and then I waited how it looks. I think I should bend it a bit more, but I am scared to hurt her ..
I also silicone for the sealing, to be bit more sure, because it didnt look good enough for me. I am still not satisfied and will remove everything and start from scratch after this lady. I want the sealing to be absolutely perfect!
But she looks really good to me. I like how it works, and it feels way easier than imagined! since I stayed with the all mix when the soil arrived, I dont think I need to feed it until bloom, since I heard, that the all mix has nutritens for 4 weeks
I think I did a mistake, when I pushed it a little to far down. I hear a cracking sound from the stem, so I will let her some rest and I hope she heals her wound.
Still, I think I am really happy with the way it works until now
I will upload a few other pictures in this week, I hope she will staqy healthy!
