Seeds where planted on the 1st of June in Plagron Lightmix, cotyledons on all plants appeared on the 4th of June. Wedding Cake was the fastest, Sweet ZZ the slowest. All plants developed healthy first true leaves Water was applied only sparingly with a watersprayer to keep the top level soil moist. On the 7th of June first application of fertilizers at 50% of the recommended dose from the nutrition plan, using 250ml solution on all plants combined.

Most of the important events are compiled in the germination report since I started my diary at a later point in time and just put everything there. I'm definately looking at my plants too often

Hello again, we are on our 14th day since potting the seeds or 11th day since germination. I'm very happy with the progress of my little ladies and not a single one showed any signs of malnutrition, which makes me glad, because for the most part I was battling with constant low humidity in my growspace (hovering in the 30-40% range, before I got a humidifier up and running). For now the Watermelon seedling will hold the title of "runt of the grow" she just did not want to grew for a few days but she's got it in her for sure. At the start of the week I finished my first nutrient solution and so I prepared my second one at 70% of the recommended dosis. This solution has a final EC of 0.7 which should be fine for the young plants. I was watering them with the solution every 2-3 days, where I was giving each plant 40-60ml depending on their size. Apart from that I was just spraying the earth once or twice a day with a spraybottle (lucky me avoided overwatering them). Now I am checking the bottom of the pots every day for roots, in preparation of repotting the plants starting with the Wedding Cake seedling, which in my opinion should happen in a couple of days. Also I lowered my lamp from 90cm to 75cm above ground. Have a nice week, thanks for reading and stay green.

Aaaaand we survived another week 🙏. In general I'm very happy with the progress of these little ladies. Wedding Cake seems to be the best grower by far. She takes anything I throw at her with ease and it makes me happy how effortless the grow has been until now. The week began with me lowering the lights once more, just to see if they would be able to take the increased light intensity. So far only the Wedding Cake has developed a touch of white tips, but for now I don't mind that. For some unexplainable reason the Watermelon fell over, so I used a toothpick to prop her up again. I repotted all of them on this wednesday into 2.25L pots and added some Mycorrhiza fungi. This happened earlier than I wanted, because I was gone Fri - Sun and I feared that the small pots wouldn't be able to keep enough water for them. It was the perfect timing for the Wedding Cake, the roots were just about to wrap around the bottom of the old pot, for the other two it was a little bit early and the root-ball was starting to fall apart when I removed the pot. I believe that stressed them out quite a bit, but since I never noticed any signs of malnutrition it should be alright. To remedy the repotting I added Root Complex to my water. Now on Sunday Wedding Cakes roots are already showing at the bottom. She really is sprinting ahead👽, but this time I will wait for a couple of days before repotting. I would prefer it, if I could delay the final repotting until the other two have caught up in their growth. This week I started noticing a light smell of haze coming from Wedding Cake, which definately increased the frequency of my visits to the growtent 😋. Have a green week and stay healthy 🙏🙏

Greetings to everyone on this final day of week 4. This week brought a major challenge (and major headache) to me - high temperature. This whole week I had around 30 °C and me living under the roof does make keeping low temperatures in my growroom virtually impossible. My plants though really did not care for my worries. They proved themselves extremly resistant to the higher temperatures, no burned leaftips, no wiltening, not a SINGLE thing that made me think, that they are feeling unhappy (although I must admit all of them are of smaller size compared to other diaries of the same strain I saw, or maybe it's just my paranoia 💩), except for SZZ but we will come to that soon. On tuesday I topped WC at the 6th node and on thursday I transplanted her into her final growing pot (13L), I am happy with the timing I chose, the roots did start to curl around, but I think she was not rootbound. She takes everything like a warrior and I could not wish for a better plant in my first grow. Because of the pot height she is very close to the lights atm and still no sign of lightstress (couple of bright spots on some leafs). Sometimes she slightly closes her top leafs for a couple of hours, but right now I will not make changes to the light setup 💪 Wednesday was the first day I noticed slight yellowing on a single leaf on SZZ and in general she made a rather unhappy impression to me, because all leafs were flopping downwards. My first thought went to stress due to heat but just to make sure I tested the soil (6.2 pH, 0.8 mS/cm). The results were fine👌, so unfortunately there was not much left for me to do, except for increasing her water intake and praying🙏. Her behavior of letting her leafs down continued for the whole rest of the week until friday, until I gave her a bunch of Nitrogen and some Root Complex against stress on thursday (yellowing of the bottom leafes - Nitrogen deficiency ?). The yellowing receded slightly and she started perking up her canopy again, so now at the end of the week I repeated her treatment with some more Nitrogen and Root Complex . To conclude I think she experienced slight nutrition deficiency and maybe slight underwatering which does not mix well with high temperatures. It's very interesting that she seems to take more nutrients and water than WM even though she is smaller. WM did not get as much attention as the other two, but she is holding strong as well and has now outgrown SZZ. She received nutrition on wednesday and is just doing her thing. Now some roots are visable at the bottom of her pot, so I will be moving her to her final pot in a couple of days. She will be topped at the same time. With her I want to mix Mycorrhiza into all the soil she's being transplanted into (with WC I just put Mycorrhiza into the hole she got put into). The rest of the time I spent learning about the different ways of training plants and in the span of a couple of days I changed my mind more than once on how I should continue. This annoyed me so much, that I just threw all my plans out of the window and I plan to just go with the flow. Since all of them are on the smaller side with really small internode distances, I will trim down the inner parts to make some breathing room and reduce the chance of mold. I plan on topping all three of them and maybe I will deviate in their training who knows😶😶. Also rubbing their leafs slightly leaves a citrus, woody smell, I love it Thank you for keeping up with my journey and happy growing 👽👽.
