R_atata This is my last attempt with this CBG seed from Dutch Passion. I suspect that this strain is a slow seller and the seeds are correspondingly old. I bought from 3 different resellers, and with the last one (Ganja Farmer), 3 out of 7 seeds finally made it through. In the previous attempts, the seeds either didn't germinate or died after they opened up. I can already say that the 3 plants don't look strong. I'm curious to see how the growth develops. My plan is to grow one plant normally. I will try to make one plant hermaphrodite with colloidal silver and use the resulting pollen to pollinate the third one to obtain feminized seeds.

R_atata The plants have moved outside since the temperatures are finally rising. I hope the mulch layer doesn't lower the soil pH too much.

R_atata Finally, it's summer. The plants are nice and warm and thankfully show no signs of heat stress, despite peak temperatures of 34°C (air temperature) and more on the terrace stones and around the pots. Last week there was a nice growth spurt.

R_atata Every now and then there was rain, but overall it was a week with good weather. At times very warm. 2 out of 3 plants show minor mutations, which doesn't bother me much, but suggests that the genetics might not be stable. One is growing very small. The other developed three fan leaves at one node instead of the usual two, and it looks like it will continue to grow with a second shoot, even though I haven't topped it. All three show some white hairs here and there. Starting this week, I will begin treating one plant with colloidal silver, hoping to get pollen and use it to pollinate another plant to obtain feminized seeds.

R_atata A changeable week with high temperatures and partly high humidity. The flower development is progressing, and the height growth is very strong. The large plant is growing 1 to 2 cm per day. The plant treated with colloidal silver (far right) is showing signs of stress. The growth is slow, with slight discoloration of the leaves and discolored stigmas.

R_atata The weather was very good over the week. It was very warm and there was a lot of sunshine. Last night it rained heavily. The right plant has now been sprayed twice daily with colloidal silver (40 PPM) for two weeks. It is very stressed and has stopped growing. I'm letting the plant grow normally now and I'm curious to see if pollen sacs will form.

R_atata A week with plenty of sunshine and occasional rain. The smell of the plants subtly drifts over the terrace. The vertical growth is slowly tapering off, and a nitrogen deficiency is noticeable. I have fertilized minimally. The plant treated with colloidal silver is showing its first pollen sacs.

R_atata About 10 days after spotting the first pollen sacs, the first two have opened. I brushed a ziplock bag over them and tapped it, then used a brush to apply the pollen to the flower clusters of the other plant. I'll repeat this in the coming days.

R_atata 9 days after the first pollination, I think I can see the first green seeds. The pollinated plant definitely has noticeably plumper flowers, but fewer of them. The plant treated with colloidal silver is now full of pollen sacs. I think I'll collect some more pollen and store it in the fridge, and then dispose of the plant.

R_atata Two and a half weeks after the start of pollination, more young seeds are already visible. There are very slight signs of marbling. For one plant, I've been fertilizing with organic tomato fertilizer for about three weeks to counteract the leaf discoloration a bit. However, that doesn't seem to be working well. Instead, it has gotten aphids. The other plant has no pests. Maybe the fertilizer is making the plant attractive to pests.

R_atata Autumn is setting in. At least with the leaves of the plant. 3 weeks after pollination, the large visible seeds are starting to show their pattern. The nights have become cooler.

R_atata 4th week after pollination. The days have had a lot of sun. I'm really curious how many seeds will come out in the end. I can spot a few in the calyxes, but it seems pretty few to me. They probably have to hold on for another week or two.

R_atata Not much is happening anymore. It's cold and wet. I harvested one plant. 23 grams wet weight. The other plant still needs to wait a bit. I hope a few more seeds will ripen there.
