The seeds were planted directly into the soil and the whole area was well moistened. Since June 8, the days have been rainy but the soil persists behind the clouds, allowing the babies to take advantage of the light to start life. One seed has germinated, but I've probably broken the germ in an attempt to check the state of germination. Note to myself: wait to see cotyledons if not don't touch the ground. A seedling has been eaten by an insect. It hadn't happened to me since the start of the season, but I suspect slugs, as it's a rainy season. I put up bottles cut in half to protect the babies.
