GanjaGecko Hi guys, the next round of BlueberryMuffin has started. On the 4th day after the seeds went into the substrate, 3 out of 4 BlueberryMuffin have germinated and saw the light of day yesterday. For the one that didn't germinate, I put another one in the substrate today just to be safe. I soaked the seed in a glass of water with 2 drops of Seedbooster Plus for 10 hours before placing it in the substrate. I hope it catches up somewhat quickly.
The substrate is a mix of about 40% BioBizz Lightmix, 40% Coco with perlite, and 20% Megaworm from Plagron. About 50ml was watered in. As additives, there was 1ml/L PowerRoots from Plagron and 1g/L BioEnhancer from GreenHouseFeeding.

GanjaGecko The first week is over and the babies look healthy. So far, I've only topped up the substrate and watered once on day 6 with about 30ml. I added PowerRoots at a mixing ratio of 1ml/L.
The fourth Blueberry that germinated later has finally seen the daylight and is now only 5 days younger than her three sisters. She should catch up during the growth phase. By the time we switch to 12/12, there won't be any difference visible anymore.

The LEDs are dimmed to 20W each and the distance is about 20-25cm.

In the coming week, the ladies will be moving into their final pots. They will be in 12L fabric pots where the ladies will spend their lifetime.
Thank you for stopping by, dear Growmies 💚

GanjaGecko Week 2 of Veg was very relaxed. The ladies were transferred to their 11L fabric pots on day 9. The substrate is a mix of 75% BioBizz and 25% Coco with perlite. Each lady initially got about 10L in her pot. As an addition, there was 1 teaspoon of Megaworm per liter of substrate. The main fertilizer is from GreenHouseFeeding. One of the most relaxed types of grows! Each pot received 40g of BioGrow from GreenHouseFeeding. The manufacturer recommends 3-5g per liter of substrate.
The ladies were freed from their small seedling pots, then a bit of Great White Mycorrhiza was added to the mini root system, and they were nestled into their new home. They were watered with 1g/L BioEnhancer from GreenHouseFeeding and 1ml/L PowerRoots, 1ml/L PureZym from Plagron. The whole setup was adjusted to a pH of 6.4. Each lady received about 600-700ml for watering.
On day 12, the surface of the substrate was moistened. One day later, on day 13, each lady got 2×250ml and additionally 1ml/L PowerRoots, 1ml/L PureZym from Plagron, and 1g/L BioEnhancer from GreenHouseFeeding. This was also at a pH of 6.4.
Again, the surface was moistened to help the substrate absorb the water better. Otherwise, I try to keep the substrate at a fairly stable moisture level at the beginning so that the soil life gets going and the fungi have a good nutrient base.
BlueberryMuffin#4 is also gradually catching up and getting into gear. The 5-day younger lady is a fighter. I don’t think there will be a noticeable difference in 2-3 weeks.

I had the light set at 40cm before. That was too close for the ladies. They have very short internodal distances. Let’s see if they prefer the extra 10cm of distance.

GanjaGecko Week 3 has been good for all 4 ladies. On day 17, #1, #2, and #3 got their topping. This gives the side branches a chance to catch up in growth, and #4 can also make up some ground. The topping will take place in the first days of the fourth week.
On day 19, some fan leaves were removed so that the branches grow instead of the leaves. All fan leaves were removed from pheno #1. She has the strongest growth. This also gives the other ladies a chance to catch up. So #1 has to recover a bit more from the interventions and does slightly less photosynthesis. The ladies have now recovered well from the topping and are growing beautifully.

On day 19, each lady got another 500ml with 1ml/L PowerRoots and 1ml/L PureZym at a pH of 6.3. Again, the substrate was moistened so that the soil can absorb the water better.
On day 21, each lady received 150ml in the saucer and 1×250ml, 1×150ml from above into the substrate. The additives were 1ml/L PowerRoots and 1ml/L PureZym. Watering was done with a pH of 6.3

GanjaGecko In week 4, the ladies were topped and some branches were tied down so that the light hits the ladies evenly. Unfortunately, I'm still trying to get used to the new LED. At first, it was too intense, and the ladies just didn't want to grow taller. This allowed Lady#4 to catch up a bit. Lady#3 generally doesn't want to grow much. She's being well supported to compensate for the likely height differences coming up. So far, the 4 ladies look healthy.

GanjaGecko Week 5 unfortunately comes a bit late. But as far as the ladies are concerned, it has gone stress-free. Here and there, a few leaves were removed and sizes adjusted. Either through tying or a topping here and there. The light is now set to 40% with a distance of about 50cm.

GanjaGecko Week 6 went fairly relaxed. Here and there, a few leaves were removed so that some shoots can break through. The shoots that haven't really taken off so far were removed to slowly create an even canopy. The lady with a 5-day difference has opened up well so far. I think the ladies will spend another two weeks in vegetation before the light switches to 12/12. By then, Lady#4 with the 5-day difference will have caught up. Lady#3 will stay small. The pheno just doesn't want to cooperate. Here and there, a few of the lower shoots were removed everywhere that wouldn't have grown up due to lack of space.

GanjaGecko In week 7, the ladies have slowly recovered well from the interventions and are gradually achieving the desired even canopy. Lady number 3 is the only one that isn't really cooperating. Otherwise, some shoots will be removed next week so that the ladies can focus on the well-developed shoots.

GanjaGecko Week 9 of the Blueberry Muffins was quite relaxed. On day 58 and 59, there were only 15 hours of light and 9 hours of darkness for the transition to flowering. The light was lowered from 50cm to 40cm away from the ladies so they could get a bit more light. On day 59, the last liter of soil was added. A mix of 75% BioBizz Lightmix and 25% coco with perlite. Each of the ladies received a total of 11L of substrate, mixed with 50g GreenHouseFeeding BioBloom, 6 teaspoons of Megaworm, 1½ teaspoons of Batguano, and 20g of rock dust.
Day 60 was the first day with 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. The Sanlight was dimmed to 50%, providing 100W for the ladies. At the start of flowering, it will go up to 120W, and for the last 4-5 weeks of flowering, it will go up to 150W.
I expect the flowering to start in about 8-10 days.
The stretch is gradually showing.
Since Blueberry Muffin #3 is more of a laggard, it will be pruned from time to time so it doesn't get in the way of Blueberry Muffin #1. Ladies #1 and #2 will likely be the ones that produce the most.

GanjaGecko Week 10 is over, and just in time for the end of the week, the first beautiful flower buds have appeared. The ladies are stretching nicely.
For Lady #3, I'm still considering whether to keep her or toss her out so the other 3 ladies can thrive better. What would you do?
Lady #1 & #2 are developing pretty much the same, and the one-week younger Lady #4 is a size I can live with and isn't much smaller than her big sisters.
Next week marks the first flowering week, and the fun part of the grow begins again💚

GanjaGecko Week 11 is also the first week of flowering.
A lot has happened. The ladies were defoliated, and the weakest shoots were removed. Additionally, there was a little lollipopping on D73/3F. The leaves were growing too densely at the bottom. The leaves didn't look good, and thanks to the strong defoliation, there is now good air circulation again. Finally, the ladies were stabilized with a scrog net. The shoots of Lady #1 & #2 are growing into each other. I'll only see later which shoot belongs to which lady :). By the end of the week, the ladies have recovered well and look fit.

GanjaGecko Week 2 of flowering has just been a joy watching the ladies and their buds grow. The typical scent of blueberry is becoming more and more apparent. Lady #3 has proven herself. She will yield the least, but she will yield something :).
Lady #4 also looks decent. Since she lagged a bit at the beginning and couldn't be trained optimally, she has developed well. Ladies #1 & #2 are the hopefuls in the garden. Lady #1 is the strongest and looks like the pheno from the ABC run with fat buds. We'll see more clearly in the next 1-2 weeks. I'm looking forward to it.

GanjaGecko Week 3 of flowering is a joy. The buds are gaining a lot of volume. The scent is already delightful when opening the tent. The weather is also normalizing somewhat, creating almost perfect conditions by the end of the week. At the beginning of the week on Day 85/15F, the light was dimmed to 70%, which corresponds to 140W. On Day 87/17F, a second SCROG net was added to the tent to support Lady #1 & #2.
By now, I can only say that Lady #4 is the pheno from the last run. That was Lady #1 and is also the display picture for this run. Unfortunately, it's the lady that came in last and therefore hasn't developed as splendidly as Lady #1 and Lady #2. One of the ladies already has completely purple flowers. I believe it's Lady #2. Lady #1 & #2 are somewhat intertwined. So it's hard to tell which is which. It's going to be a dream on harvest day🤣

GanjaGecko Week 4 of flowering is over. The buds have developed super well during this time. The smell is just absolutely insane. It's also becoming clear how much the ladies have grown together. So far, it looks like at least 3 different phenotypes. Lady #2 has completely purple flowers, Lady #1 has purple accents in the flowers. Lady #3 is still holding back a bit with the colors, and Lady #4 is pretty much the same pheno #2 from the last Blueberry grow. That one was unusually full of trichomes and had an incredibly beautiful growth.
Now it’s just about taking care of the ladies with love and waiting until they’re ready💚

GanjaGecko In week 5 of flowering on day 99/29F, the LED was dimmed to 75% = 150W to squeeze a bit more out of the ladies in the last few weeks. To my shame, I only noticed much too late that the new LED I have in the tent since this run was still glowing at night. The reason for this was that the timer was plugged in "the wrong way." Turning the timer around immediately fixed the problem. I just wish I had noticed it during the growth phase and not a few weeks before the finish...
I roughly examined the ladies for nanners and didn't find any at first. The glow wasn't really worth mentioning either. You had to hold your hand right underneath to notice that the diodes were still glowing. I’ll take a closer look every time I peek into the tent to see if anything has gone hermie.
Upon closer inspection over the days, I unfortunately noticed that a few small pests have made themselves comfortable. The spots on the leaves looked a bit like thrips. However, I never saw any flying or jumping around. So I didn't think much of it when a leaf here and there had a few white spots or dots. After some research in the book, I saw a few damage pictures that indicated: spider mites with potassium deficiency. I somewhat doubt the potassium deficiency since the ladies look healthy overall. However, there were small dots visible on the underside of the affected leaves. I have now added four bags of predatory mites that I hung about two weeks ago at the base of each plant, plus another four bags of predatory mites into the SCROG nets so that the beneficials can attack right in the middle.
Lady #2 unfortunately seems to have a slight nitrogen deficiency that I can't quite understand. All the ladies have always received the same nutrient solution and are in the same substrate mix. Now, about 2 weeks before the end, not much will happen with organic fertilizer. I hope it won't get too bad. So far, everything looks great, and the buds are developing nicely with a beautiful purple hue that really whets the appetite.
Aside from the incidents, I have to say that all the ladies are developing wonderfully.

GanjaGecko Week 6 of flowering is over. On day 106/36F, there was an unintentional and minimal runoff while watering for two ladies, Lady#2 and Lady#4. Lady#2 had slightly lighter leaves, indicating a minor iron deficiency and/or nitrogen deficiency, likely due to a slightly high pH level. Since all the ladies are getting the same nutrients and additives, I suspected the soil pH was the issue because all the other ladies showed no signs of deficiency. Lady#2 had a runoff pH of 7.4, and Lady#4 had a runoff pH of 7.2. Lady#1, #3, and #4 seem to be handling it quite well. However, aside from that, 7.2-7.4 is too high. Only Lady#2 didn't handle it as well. I will aim for a pH level between 6.0-6.2 for the next watering to bring the ladies back into the right pH range. This won't have a significant impact in the last few days.
By the middle of the week, less fertilizer and less water were needed. Since the weather was very rainy, it negatively affected the VPD. Sooner or later, when the necessary funds are available, a dehumidifier will likely be used to keep the humidity under control.
When the plant doesn't transpire, it drinks less. But that also means it's stagnating a bit.
For now, the ladies still look great. There was a little trichome check too. To my surprise, many of the trichomes on Lady#1 and #2 were milky. I would have liked to harvest the ladies next week on day 118/48F to distribute them into jars about 7 days later. Unfortunately, due to timing, that won't quite work out. The jars should be opened 1-2 times daily for a short airing during the first 1-2 weeks. Due to a few days of recovery, the jars would need to stay closed for several consecutive days right after filling. I'm too worried about mold formation and ruining the whole harvest. Therefore, the ladies will stay in the garden a few days longer and will be hung up when I go away for a few days, and then they can hang out in peace.

GanjaGecko Week 7 of flowering is over. Not much has happened anymore. The buds are gaining good volume. All the ladies are ready to be cut down. They will ripen for a few more days and then be hung up. All trichomes are mostly milky, about 20-30% are amber. They will now dry in the pot and then be hung up at the end of the week, after which they will go into jars with 62% Boveda packs. For the rest of the time, the LED will be dimmed down to 120W. The trichomes are pretty perfect. To preserve their terpenes as much as possible, the temperature in the tent should also be lowered a bit, which works quite well with the dimming.
During the week, there was only minimal water for Lady#1 because she drinks quite a lot. Then at the end of the week on day 118/48, I adjusted and gave all the ladies a bit of water. From now on, no lady will get any more water and will be prepared for harvest.

GanjaGecko In week 8 of flowering, the Sanlight was dimmed down to 120W. By this point, the ladies were pretty much done and should get a bit less heat for the last few days. This resulted in an average of 2°C less in the tent, so it was around 22-24°C on average.
On day 124/54F, it was time to harvest the ladies. They had developed a nice violet hue and gained a bit more volume in the buds. They shouldn't stay any longer now. They haven't received any water since day 118/48F. The pots are well dried out, so the ladies will take as little moisture as possible into the drying process. All are nicely packed with trichomes and emit an incredibly intense aroma that creates huge anticipation💚
For the next run, I will keep a better eye on the pH level in the soil, and during flowering, the pH will be slowly increased from 6.0 to a maximum of 6.5 and won't go towards 6.9 anymore.
Lady #2 was a good teacher in this regard. It wasn't a lack of nutrients, but the pH level in the soil was at 7.4, which prevents micronutrients like iron from being absorbed properly, causing the leaves to turn yellow. I noticed this too late, and it was only through the tip from Stony_German and an unintentional runoff that I measured the pH level of the drain, and by then it was too late to correct with organic fertilizer. I didn't want to adjust with mineral fertilizer three weeks before harvest. So, this is a lesson for the next grow.
Still, all the ladies have developed well. Lady #3, who initially didn't want to cooperate, has done quite well, and Lady #4, who came into the tent 5 days later and didn't have as much time to recover between the HST as Lady #1 and #2, had to be trained "faster," but has also developed well. Lady #1 has turned out beautiful and has the fullest buds. With a bit more space, she would be a candidate for a mother plant. She finished the fastest, has the best bud structure, and is packed with trichomes.💚
For the next run, I will add two small fans further down in the tent for additional air circulation, making it a bit more uncomfortable for the spider mites. And generally, good air circulation never hurts. The spider mite situation has been kept in check to the point that only a few leaves were affected, which were removed repeatedly. The bags with predatory mites will be introduced earlier next time to prevent the spider mites from getting comfortable at all.
Now it's time for drying, and the next update will be the harvest💚

You can always rely on BlueberryMuffin from HumboldtSeedCompany. The appearance of the phenos varies slightly. One is prettier than the other. But the taste is a blast for all of them! If I had the space for two decent tents, one would be permanently occupied by BlueberryMuffin.

GanjaGecko What I've definitely taken away for the next run is that one more seed will be prepared, and the weakest of the ladies will be removed. This way, the others have more space, and with an extra week in the growth phase, it won't make a big difference in the end at harvest.

👌 A very good result. Even if a few things don't go perfectly, you've shown that good genetics can still produce a great smoke under less-than-perfect conditions. I could bet the terps are over the top again.. Definitely the next strain in my tent. The seeds are already in the fridge. 😏 Every mistake makes you more experienced, and you become a better grower. I think I've made every mistake you can imagine. Especially when there was no internet and this public cannabis grower community. You definitely have a green thumb, so keep it up and never stop growing, buddy. 😎
@Stony_German, thank you buddy 🤙🏽 the smell of the ladies is incredibly exciting. Haha, I totally get it. I also still have seeds for two runs. And on your unsolicited tip, I’ll put the seeds I have in the fridge for now 😄💪🏽 I had searched for your current strain like crazy until I found a dealer who sells it here too 😊 I saw it at Mr. Canucks and got super excited about it. It turned out incredibly frosty.
Yeah, I think mistakes are part of it and are good. It would be boring if everything went perfectly 😂.
Yeah, I can imagine. I'm glad there's so much knowledge on the internet. Now three books on our favorite topic fill the shelf. Which none of my other hobbies can claim. I was just a diligent consumer all these years. But I had been thinking about doing it myself for ages. Now I just regret not starting earlier 😄
@Ganjin, 😄 you won't regret it!💚 I've already got two strains coming when the upcoming Blueberry Muffin Run hopefully germinates and the next one is done. 😂 But let's see if you already get tired of the taste!💚
@cannasaxx, haha what gave me away? 😂
I think it's an incredibly aromatic strain. Incredibly tasty. After the two runs, I'm taking a break from BlueberryMuffin. But it will definitely be back! 😊
Very nice grow. I see you're using similar additives as I do. I'm glad you're enjoying the hobby more and more. You can feel the passion when looking at the photos. Great, congratulations. Even though the Bl. Muffin doesn't have the prettiest buds, the terpenes are unique and everyone should have it in their garden at least once. As I already told you, my seeds are waiting to enchant me with that smell. Enjoy your harvest, buddy, you totally deserve it. And that's the best part of homegrow.
@Stony_German, hey, good to see you. Yes, the PK 5•8 from BioTabs was a great tip. The ladies tolerated the organic additive much better. Thanks again for that🤙🏻 yeah, I also noticed that most phenos don't produce the biggest buds. But the terpenes are really absolutely amazing. I'm curious to see how they do for you.
Very beautiful ladies. And once again, I see that Bl. Muffin is a great strain that consistently produces beautiful plants. My grow buddies have also fallen in love with this strain, and the only reason I haven't grown it yet is that we always let each other smell it, "sharing is forbidden" 😏. But after this run, Bl. Muffin will be grown together with Orange creampop in January. I wish you lots of frost and mega terps, buddy.
@Stony_German, thank you 🤙🏽 I really love that strain too. Haha, I think it's great that we can stick our noses into each other's gardens 😄💪🏽 I'm also toying with the idea of OrangeCreampop. The thought that the taste and smell of orange is as intense as BlueberryMuffin really excites me. I still have one or two grows planned for BlueberryMuffin. Once that's done, I'll probably switch to OrangeCreampop. I'm curious to hear what you think. Thank you! I wish you and your ladies all the best 🤙🏽💚
