The Dawg is in trouble. This pack of seeds has been terrible. The first try melted on days 1,2 and 3 like a nuclear reactor. The second try has been growing the slowest of my autos. Not really sure where this one goes.
I was not sure if this was going to make it but I had to get it out of the germination cup to give it a good shot. I didn't want to commit to a 5 gal bucket so I went with a 2 gal pot. Looks like it has survived the mutation and we are going to have a trident. Will be up potting to a 5.
Not a lot to report this week. This seems to be vegging nicely and I bumped it into a 5G. Pushing hairs now but I will wait until next week to call it flower.
I am a bit disappointed that a center stalk did not develop as that would have been really cool. Plant seems to be doing good but is on the small side currently as does the other one from the same pack of seeds that is weeks ahead of this one. Starting to get that nice Stardawg smell.
NOTE: I was contacted by Jordan Fast in response to my communication in regard to the seeds performance. He showed concern for my satisfaction. I have no doubt he is willing to stand behind any of his beans and is interested in finding any faults to correct them. I have no reservations about giving them another try and hope to still get a decent harvest here.
Progression this week was obvious. Smell is strong and very nice but not sharp. Has a slightly fruity and creamy bias. Quility of the flower seems on point. Based on my experiences the genetics here are dubious. We will see.
This strain fails on every level other than flower quality. Looking back a couple years I don't find any good harvests here. It is defined by it's lack of vigor and low yield. It has a very nice sweet creamy pastry like smell that reminds me of latex paint.
Fastbuds has to know this strain is dead and you will never grow a plant that looks like Sebastian's. They need to pull this strain off the market.
Mother Nature got the best of me here. Days of heavy rain and high heat led to bud rot prompting me to terminate this grow. I chopped up the buds to stave off the rot. Only an estimate but I place it around 50% yield of what could have been if it finished. The lesson here is do not try for mid summer harvest if avaoidable.
I have a couple more of these beans and we can let them fly on a future run just for fun.
